- MWM Chapter 407
“Fifth Hokage!”
As soon as Leo spoke, the Third Hokage and Danzo moved to persuade him further, but Leo raised his hand to stop them.
“There’s no need to say more. My mind is made up. Think about why the First Hokage founded the Leaf Village—to bring peace to the world and to end the endless wars between clans.
Despite his immense power, he didn’t attack other villages. Instead, he divided the tailed beasts among them to balance the power between the great villages in the hopes of maintaining lasting peace.
If I refuse Nagato’s offer now, too many lives will be lost today.
I believe that after this, everyone will be more cautious and less inclined to start wars so easily.
Don’t worry. While I can’t guarantee victory over Nagato, I am confident that I can at least take him down with me.”
Leo’s tone was resolute, and he smiled warmly, exuding an air of reassurance.
“Fifth Hokage-sama!”
Upon hearing Leo’s words, the eyes of both the Leaf ninjas and those from the Cloud and Mist Villages filled with respect.
It was clear that the Fifth Hokage had made up his mind—even if it meant sacrificing himself—to save everyone.
When Akatsuki attacked the Leaf Village and caused countless deaths, it was the Fifth Hokage who used a forbidden technique at the cost of his own life to revive everyone. If not for a stroke of luck, he would have already been buried in the graveyard.
But now, the Fifth Hokage wasn’t just trying to save the Leaf; he was trying to save all the ninjas of the entire ninja world.
Even Raikage and Mizukage, after hearing Leo’s decision, felt genuine admiration. Before, they had been in awe of his terrifying strength, but now they were moved by his noble spirit.
“Looks like it worked.”
Leo scanned the crowd and saw that, aside from the ever-scheming Danzo, everyone else had been convinced. Without wasting more words, he flew back to Nagato and responded loudly:
“Alright, Nagato, I accept your terms!”
On the other side, the ninjas and Kage who were sealed in the branches of the giant trees let out a collective sigh of relief when they heard Leo’s answer.
If Leo had refused, they would have all been killed by Nagato in the next second.
So, with this single word, “accept,” Leo had saved all of their lives.
“In that case, let’s begin.”
Nagato floated down to the space between the two armies. With a single clap of his hands, he summoned the enormous Ten-Tails through a summoning technique.
He then landed on the Ten-Tails’ head, and a long, thin vine extended from the creature’s head, connecting to the back of Nagato’s skull.
After Leo had killed Obito, he hadn’t simply walked away.
He had transplanted part of Obito’s body, which contained Hashirama’s cells, into Nagato. He had also used the Edo Tensei to summon Obito and obtain the Six Paths Coffin Seal, which allowed someone to become the Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails.
So now, Nagato’s body possessed both the virus of despair and Hashirama’s cells, and he was also capable of becoming the Ten-Tails’ Jinchūriki.
This was necessary to elevate Nagato’s strength. After all, to truly showcase the overwhelming gap in power that would make all the ninjas feel despair, Nagato had to be strong enough—otherwise, this grand performance would be a joke.
As for whether Nagato might betray him after becoming the Ten-Tails’ Jinchūriki?
Leo wasn’t worried about that at all.
It wasn’t that he had absolute faith in Nagato’s character. People were unpredictable, especially in the world of *Naruto*, which was known for producing its share of unstable personalities.
The reason Leo wasn’t concerned was that even if Nagato became the Ten-Tails’ Jinchūriki, he still wouldn’t be a match for him.
Currently, Nagato had one Rinnegan and one of Obito’s Mangekyō Sharingan, combined with Hashirama’s cells. After becoming the Ten-Tails’ Jinchūriki, he would be on par with the Six Paths version of Obito.
Add the virus of despair, and Nagato’s power would be roughly equal to a single-eyed Six Paths Madara.
But even Madara, with just one eye, had half his body blown off by Might Guy when Guy opened all Eight Gates. Though Madara had the Truth-Seeking Balls transferred by the Fourth Hokage and wasn’t trying to dodge Guy’s attack, it still showed something important.
It demonstrated that if Guy could maintain the Eight Gates for a prolonged period, he could definitely reach the level of the Six Paths.
Leo’s base physical strength far surpassed Guy’s, so his Second Form of the Eight Gates was much stronger than Guy’s full Eight Gates. It was certain that his strength would rival that of Six Paths Nagato.
On top of that, Leo had the combination of chakra and golden core energy through Sage Mode, as well as the power of the *Cosmos* and the techniques of various Gold Saints. He also had the flying sword treasures and the mightiest technique of the three-headed, six-armed Susano’o that had defeated Saga.
So, it wasn’t just Six Paths Nagato—Leo would have no problem dealing with even a three-eyed Six Paths Madara.
In fact, even if Kaguya Ōtsutsuki were to break free of her seal, Leo didn’t think he would lose.
Kaguya’s power came from her identity as an Ōtsutsuki and from having eaten the fruit of the God Tree, as well as absorbing most of the chakra in the ninja world. Her energy reserves were enormous.
However, Kaguya had almost no combat experience. She could only exert a fraction of her true power.
This made sense. Kaguya, who had a “romantic” nature, gained her strength from the God Tree. Against ordinary humans, a single glance was enough to kill them—there was no need for actual combat.
Her only real battle experience came from fighting her two sons, and that ended with her being sealed in the moon.
So, despite having overwhelming strength, Kaguya was resealed by Naruto and Sasuke, who were wielding the power of the Six Paths.
Besides, Kaguya wouldn’t be resurrected.
There were two conditions for her resurrection: a vessel, which would be the Jinchūriki of the Ten-Tails who had awakened the Eye of the Moon, and a key, which was Black Zetsu.
But since Leo had already dealt with Black Zetsu, the key was gone. Without it, resurrection was impossible, even with a vessel.
Moreover, Leo had no intention of allowing Nagato to plant the God Tree and absorb the chakra of all the ninja in the world to initiate the Infinite Tsukuyomi.
If there was anyone in this world he couldn’t be sure he could defeat, it would probably be the Sage of the Six Paths himself.
The Sage of the Six Paths wasn’t as powerful as Kaguya, but his combat awareness and techniques were terrifying.
Even now, Leo couldn’t be sure if he could avoid or break the planetary devastation technique that was as large as the moon.
After all, even Kaguya, who possessed the Yomotsu Hirasaka, had been sealed.
And the Sage of the Six Paths, who had been dead for so many years, could still emerge during the final battle to empower Naruto and Sasuke, elevating them to the level of the Six Paths. That alone was frightening.
So, unless Leo mastered the Seventh Sense or his golden core advanced further, breaking through to the Nascent Soul stage, he couldn’t be completely certain of defeating the Sage of the Six Paths.
“That’s the Ten-Tails? It’s a monster among monsters… Can the Fifth Hokage really defeat it?”
The thought ran through the minds of the allied ninjas as they finally saw the Ten-Tails summoned in front of them, feeling the overwhelming, life-crushing pressure it exuded.
