MWM Chapter 409

This entry is part 410 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“At this point, I have no choice but to give it my all!”

Pretending to be pummeled by Six Paths Nagato, Leo opened the Eighth Gate of the Eight Gates technique, and his energy surged instantly.

With Sage Mode combined with the fully opened Eight Gates, Leo could have easily crushed Six Paths Nagato. But, of course, he couldn’t do that. Instead, he engaged in a final round of evenly matched combat.

The once-despairing crowd felt hope rekindle within them.

“I never thought the Fifth Hokage had surpassed the God of Shinobi and reached the realm of the Six Paths Sage,” said the Fourth Raikage, A, as he stood at the front, watching the battle between Six Paths Nagato and Leo high above. He couldn’t help but sigh in amazement.

To be honest, even someone like him, known for speed and strength, could barely keep up with their movements. If he were to face either of them, he likely wouldn’t even have time to react before dying.

“Indeed, if it weren’t for the Fifth Hokage, both our Mist Village and Cloud Village would have been wiped out by now,” the Fifth Mizukage Mei Terumi added, nodding in agreement.

It was clear that with Nagato’s strength, after wiping out the Stone Village, destroying their villages would have been an easy task.

“If it weren’t for the Fifth Hokage, this Fourth Great Ninja War might have begun with the destruction of the Leaf Village.”

Although the Third Hokage and other Leaf officials didn’t say this out loud, they were all thinking it.

After all, the first village that Akatsuki attacked was the Leaf, and even with lesser strength than they had now, they had nearly obliterated the Leaf with just Nagato and the Akatsuki members.

Danzo, meanwhile, discreetly wiped the cold sweat from his forehead. He wasn’t relieved because the Leaf had such a powerful Hokage. No, he was relieved that when Leo had first been selected as the Fifth Hokage, he had toyed with the idea of assassinating him—and ultimately abandoned that thought. Otherwise, he would have been a corpse long ago.

“Nagato, stop! What you want is world peace, but there’s no need for such drastic measures. I believe everyone has learned a lesson by now. At the very least, there won’t be any more wars in the near future!”

After half an hour of fighting, Leo, pretending to be slightly out of breath, tried to reason with Nagato.

But Nagato simply shook his head.

“I don’t want short-term peace. I want eternal peace.”

“Since you’re so stubborn, then I have no choice!”

Leo retreated a short distance, his hands quickly forming a black energy sphere that rapidly expanded above his head.

Seeing this, Nagato mirrored Leo’s actions, gathering an equally large sphere, and calmly said:

“I know what you’re trying to do. You’re planning to seal me with the *Chibaku Tensei* technique, creating a moon like the Six Paths Sage did to imprison me in the sky. But don’t forget, I can do the same.”

“I know you can.”

Leo’s expression remained equally calm.

Nagato’s face changed slightly.

“So, this is your plan—you want both of us to be sealed. Do you really think it’s worth sacrificing your own life for these people, who are constantly consumed by thoughts of war?”

The ninjas below listened to their conversation and finally understood what both of them were implying.

According to legend, the moon in the sky was created by the Six Paths Sage using the strongest sealing technique to imprison a monster. Now, with Leo unable to defeat Nagato, he planned to use the same sealing technique to imprison him.

However, to protect himself, Nagato could also use the technique to seal Leo.

If they both used the technique, it would result in Leo and Nagato being sealed together in the sky, leaving two moons in the sky from now on.

At this point, they realized what Leo meant by “taking him down with him,” and a deep sense of gratitude and reverence for Leo filled their hearts.

“It’s worth it. I’ve always believed that humans are born inherently good, and it’s the environment that shapes the state of the ninja world as it is now. Deep down, people are still kind.

If my sacrifice can save everyone, then it’s worth it.

I believe that after this, they will change for the better!”

“Your strategy isn’t wrong, but I’m not necessarily going to play by your rules. What if I don’t use *Chibaku Tensei* to seal you but instead create a moon-sized meteor to crash down on everyone below?”

Nagato paused briefly, then pointed toward the ninja coalition below.

“Everyone down there would die. Not only that, the entire continent would face catastrophic destruction. In the end, you’d be the only one left alive.

So, yes, if you choose to seal me, I’ll be imprisoned, but everyone else will die alongside me.”

“What?!”

The crowd erupted in panic upon hearing Nagato’s words.

Many of them had come here today fully prepared to die. But if they could survive, that would be even better.

They had hoped their deaths would at least ensure the safety of their families back in their villages, so if the entire continent was going to be destroyed, what would be the point of their fight?

“I doubt you would actually do that. Your goal is world peace. If everyone on the continent dies, then your dream will be shattered as well.”

Leo’s face showed an intense seriousness, as if he truly believed Nagato’s words.

In reality, neither Nagato nor Leo could create a moon-sized *Chibaku Tensei*. They were merely trying to scare the ninjas below—and it seemed to be working.

“Whether or not I do it depends on your next decision.”

Nagato’s expression grew unusually serious.

Leo furrowed his brow.

“What do you mean? I can’t let you destroy the remaining three villages.”

“No, that’s not what I mean. After fighting you for this long and hearing you say that ‘humans are inherently good,’ I’ve had a change of heart.

Maybe it’s not necessary to destroy all ninjas.

We can establish a unified state, a unified empire, with no more separate villages. All the resources will be pooled together and distributed equally, eliminating the need for conflict and war over territory and resources.

There will be no more Leaf, Rain, Sand, Stone, or Cloud. There will only be one Ninja Empire.

The daimyos will serve as the empire’s civilian representatives, and the Kage of the various ninja villages will be the military representatives of the empire. By working together to build this empire, everyone will live happily.

The cycle of hatred will be broken.”

Nagato delivered the lines that Leo had prepared in advance with a completely serious expression.

Leo, in turn, appeared hesitant.

“Agree to my terms, and everyone will live. Refuse, and everyone except you will die.”

Nagato’s cold words sent a wave of terror through the hearts of all the ninjas below.
