MWM Chapter 412

This entry is part 413 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

On May 3, 2012, Leo spent time in two different small worlds, visiting both the Wizard World and the Naruto World. After confirming that everything was in order, he began waiting for the Avengers from 2023 to arrive.

On May 4, 2012, at 4 PM, in the alley between two buildings near Stark Tower, four figures wearing nano quantum suits suddenly appeared.

Their helmets opened, revealing none other than Iron Man Tony Stark, Captain America Steve Rogers, Ant-Man Scott Lang, and the Hulk Bruce Banner, all having traveled back from 2023.

“We’ll split up. Two of the stones are in Uptown, the other is in Downtown. Keep a low profile and watch the clock!”

As soon as they arrived, Steve quickly laid out the plan.

But Tony noticed something off. Watching the carefree passersby walking through the alleyway, he turned to Dr. Banner and asked, “Banner, did you set the wrong time? Or the wrong place?”

Thanks to Tony’s observation, the group realized something was amiss. They quickly stepped out of the alley.

There was no Chitauri invasion, no Avengers, and everything seemed unusually calm.

“That’s impossible! I wouldn’t mess up something this important!”

Banner’s face showed disbelief.

Tony scanned the surroundings and quickly connected to the network using his suit’s system. After a moment, he reported, “The location is correct, and the date is indeed May 4, 2012. But something’s off with this world. In this reality, the Chitauri invasion happened two years ago.”

He paused before adding, “And the main force that defeated them wasn’t us—it was a superhero called the Dark Sorcerer.”

“Dark Sorcerer?”

Steve, Scott, and Banner exchanged confused glances. They had never heard of such a person.

Tony scrolled through more news articles and found more inconsistencies with their own timeline.

“This doesn’t make sense. According to our previous experiments, we should’ve traveled to a different point in time, not an alternate universe. This shouldn’t be happening.”

Banner was still baffled, unable to figure out what had gone wrong.

“We only have enough Pym particles for one trip, so right now it doesn’t matter why this world is different from what we expected. What’s important is how we’re going to get the Space, Time, and Mind Stones.”

Steve cut through Banner’s confusion, knowing they needed to focus on the task at hand.

Tony frowned and replied, “The Time Stone shouldn’t be a problem—we can go to the Sanctum and ask for Stephen. The Mind Stone is likely with S.H.I.E.L.D., but the Space Stone… it’s probably already been taken back to Asgard, which means getting our hands on it is nearly impossible.”

“Tony, you might be mistaken. If the Chitauri invasion happened two years ago in this timeline, then Hydra has probably already sent the Mind Stone to Sokovia,” Steve corrected.

But Tony shook his head.

“According to the news in this world, Fury was one step ahead and already discovered Hydra’s infiltration. S.H.I.E.L.D. wiped them out again, and their base in Sokovia was mysteriously destroyed before the Chitauri invasion even happened. So, the Mind Stone is likely still in Fury’s hands.”

“Well, that’s a problem,” Banner mused, frowning. “Even if the Mind Stone is with S.H.I.E.L.D., convincing someone as paranoid as Fury to hand it over will be almost impossible.”

They all knew Fury’s personality. Telling him they were from 2023 and trying to gather the stones to save the future would likely lead to them being detained, their equipment confiscated for study, and them locked away for who knows how long—if he ever even believed them.

“I can handle that. Just find out where it is, and I’ll sneak in and steal it. That’s what I’m best at!”

Ant-Man Scott raised his hand eagerly.

“Back in the day, I…”

“Alright, we get it.” Steve quickly interrupted Scott, knowing that if he let Ant-Man start talking, they’d be there for half an hour. “Let’s focus on the Space Stone. If we don’t manage to collect all the stones, we won’t be able to bring back everyone who died. We need to overcome every obstacle and complete this mission.”

Banner punched the wall of the alley, cracking it.

“It’s a huge problem. The Bifrost was likely already broken at this time, so we can’t just go to Asgard. Even if it wasn’t, we’d have to convince Thor to take us there and then convince Odin to give us the Space Stone. And that’s if Thor is even still on Earth.”

Tony, who had been deep in thought, suddenly spoke up.

“Maybe we don’t have to do all that. If we take a little trip down memory lane, we can both grab the Tesseract and replenish our Pym particles. The military base in New Jersey, 1970. If I’m not mistaken, at some point that year, both of those things were in that base.”

“Both of them?” Steve looked at Tony.

“I’m sure of it,” Tony confirmed.

“Cap, you need to understand, we only have enough Pym particles for one return trip. If we go back to 1970 and don’t get more particles, we’ll be stuck there forever,” Scott pointed out, incredulous.

Tony looked at Steve. “Do you trust me?”

“I trust you,” Steve nodded firmly.

Tony took a deep breath. “Then let’s do this your way.”

“Banner, you head to the Sanctum and get the Time Stone from Strange. Scott, Tony, and I will go to S.H.I.E.L.D. and steal the Mind Stone. After that, you guys head back, and Tony and I will go to New Jersey in 1970 to get the Space Stone and replenish the Pym particles.”

Steve quickly assigned everyone their tasks.

“No other choice, I guess!” Banner leaped effortlessly to the rooftop and bounded towards the Sanctum.

Steve, Tony, and Scott prepared to leave the alley, heading for the S.H.I.E.L.D. base to steal the Mind Stone.

But just as they turned around, a strange voice called out from the alley entrance:

“Hey, Tony, what are you doing here? And Steve, weren’t you supposed to be helping Nick Fury in Washington?”

The trio looked up to see a handsome man in a black suit with an impressive aura walking into the alley.
