- MWM Chapter 420
At the same time, Leo and Thor slowly descended, followed by Tony, Steve, Bruce Banner, Rhodey, Scott, Barton, and Rocket, all escorting the 2014 version of Nebula from the base.
With Friday monitoring everything, it was nearly impossible for Nebula to steal the Infinity Gauntlet unnoticed. So, not long after she destroyed the quantum machine, the group surrounded her and took her down.
“My daughter, you can never complete my tasks as perfectly as your sister. It seems I’ll have to retrieve the Stones myself,” Thanos remarked, showing no concern for Nebula’s capture. He simply shook his head, disappointed.
The 2014 Nebula immediately panicked, shouting, “Father, believe me, I can get all the Stones for you!”
As she spoke, her cybernetic arm morphed, revealing a cannon that shot a laser blast, knocking Rhodey away. She then lunged at Tony, attempting to snatch the metal case containing the Infinity Gauntlet from his hands.
The sudden attack caught Tony off guard, and just as Nebula was about to grab the case, a green light struck her, killing her instantly.
The one who cast the spell was Leo.
One of his main quest objectives was to eliminate all members of Thanos’ 2014 army, except for Gamora. Naturally, the 2014 Nebula fell under that directive. With a quick *Avada Kedavra*, Leo ended her.
“A failure is always a failure,” Thanos said, showing no remorse for Nebula’s death. His gaze was now fixed on the case in Tony’s hand. With a wave of his hand, his massive cosmic army charged toward Leo and the others like a tidal wave.
“Bring me that case!”
At that moment, Banner stepped forward to block the path to Leo, while Tony quickly handed the case over to him.
“The Stones are in here. If things get too dangerous, you need to run. Don’t let Thanos get his hands on them,” Tony said. His nano-suit then generated an identical case, and he resumed his position as if nothing had happened.
Leo was momentarily surprised by Tony’s trust in handing over the Infinity Gauntlet, but he quickly slipped it into his small magic pouch.
He hadn’t expected Tony to entrust him with the gauntlet, but clearly, the Avengers now fully trusted him. It wasn’t a bad move—while Leo couldn’t use the gauntlet due to his quest restrictions, at least it was safe from Thanos. A Thanos with the gauntlet was far more dangerous than one without it.
As Thanos’ army swarmed toward them, Ant-Man nervously swallowed. “Just us? Can we really hold them off?”
While Thanos himself was terrifying, Scott thought that with their numbers and the powerful Leo on their side, they might stand a chance against him alone. But this entire army? That seemed hopeless.
“We fight together!” Steve pulled out his shield and took the lead.
Tony followed closely, holding the decoy case.
“Together!”
“Together!”
Rhodey, Ant-Man, and Banner joined in, preparing for battle against the advancing horde of Outriders.
The Outriders were considered cannon fodder in Thanos’ army, but that didn’t make them weak. Each one was as fast as a cheetah, as strong as a bear, and their six arms were tipped with claws sharp enough to tear a car in half. They were relentless killing machines, unfeeling and fearless.
“No need to rush. You all stay here.”
Leo stepped in front of Banner, blocking them from advancing.
“It’s been a long time since I had a real, satisfying fight. Leave this to me.”
One of his main objectives was to ensure the safety of all the Avengers. If Tony and the others joined the fray, there was always a risk that one of them might die, and he would lose his perfect quest rating.
Besides, Leo planned to use this battle as an opportunity to unlock the Seventh Sense. The more enemies, the greater the pressure, and the better the result.
“But Leo, going alone is too—” Banner began, but his words caught in his throat.
Leo had already performed the hand seals, activating the *Multi-Shadow Clone Jutsu*.
In an instant, 5,000 copies of Leo appeared, lining up in a long formation before the charging Outriders. All of them began casting spells.
“Avada Kedavra Lightning Chain!”
Green bolts of light struck the Outriders, bouncing from one to another like a chain of lightning. Within moments, tens of thousands of the leading Outriders collapsed dead on the spot.
“Such a powerful mage… they’re rare,” Thanos muttered, frowning as he watched the Outriders fall in waves to Leo’s deadly magic.
“Aerial support!”
At Thanos’ command, Leviathans and flying Chitauri soldiers descended from the sky, swooping down toward Leo’s clones.
The clones split their forces—half continued casting the Killing Curse to decimate the Outriders, while the other half raised their hands, unleashing the *Fiendfyre* curse.
Blue fire dragons erupted into the sky, engulfing the Leviathans and Chitauri soldiers in flames.
Fiendfyre was a cursed fire—once it touched something, it wouldn’t stop burning until it reduced everything to ash. Normal means couldn’t extinguish it.
Screaming, the burning Leviathans fell from the sky, crashing into the ground below and taking more Outriders and Chitauri soldiers with them.
“This… this is too much!” Tony and the others stood behind Leo, their jaws dropping in disbelief.
They had known Leo was strong, but they hadn’t expected him to be *this* powerful.
If Thanos had sent his forces to Earth in 2012, they’d all be dead by now—Leo would have taken them down single-handedly.
“The Outriders survived the Killing Curse? Fine, I’ll use something stronger.”
As Leo noticed some of the more powerful Chitauri Berserker Apes charging toward him after shaking off the Killing Curse, he realized they were a greater challenge. The Berserker Apes, genetically modified and much tougher than the cannon-fodder Outriders, had merely been slowed down by the lightning chain, but were still coming at full speed.
At that moment, Leo’s clones were nearly out of mana. All the clones clasped their hands together.
“Sage Art: Water Style—Water Severing Wave!”
