- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 426
At Avengers Headquarters, everyone gathered around to discuss their next steps.
The most important task, of course, was to return all the Infinity Stones to their original timelines to prevent any disruptions in those worlds caused by the absence of their Stones.
The Avengers would need to build another quantum machine for this, but with their prior experience, it wasn’t expected to be too difficult.
As for the depleted Pym Particles, since Hank Pym, who had vanished due to Thanos’ snap five years ago, was now revived, they could produce as many as needed.
Thus, Tony and Banner took on the task of recreating the quantum machine, Ant-Man sought out Hank Pym to acquire the Pym Particles, and Steve was assigned the responsibility of returning all the Stones. Leo would also join him in going back.
This process was estimated to take around two weeks, so Leo would have to wait in 2023 before returning to his own timeline.
Meanwhile, Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, resumed her role of protecting weaker planets across the universe, Thor decided to find Jane to deliver the cancer treatment and possibly reconcile with her, and Valkyrie led the remaining Asgardians to settle in a seaside town in Norway.
Hawkeye, Clint Barton, semi-retired to spend time with the family he hadn’t seen in five years. Spider-Man, Peter Parker, returned to high school, Doctor Strange and Wong went back to Kamar-Taj, Gamora disappeared into space alone, and Star-Lord, with the Guardians of the Galaxy, set out on a new interstellar adventure.
Everyone had their own plans, and when it was Wanda’s turn to speak, she spoke with a note of sadness:
“Sorry, but I can’t stay here either. I’m heading to a place called Westview because that’s where Vision and I bought a house. We were going to live there together.”
Upon hearing Wanda’s words, the group was overtaken by sorrow.
In the wake of Thanos’ crisis, three people had truly died: Gamora, who was sacrificed by Thanos; Black Widow, who sacrificed herself; and Vision, who asked Wanda to end his life to prevent Thanos from getting the Mind Stone.
While Gamora’s death didn’t affect most of the group, as only the Guardians were close to her, and Black Widow, Natasha, had already been revived by Leo, Vision was the only Avenger who remained truly gone after these events.
Everyone grieved Vision’s loss.
*Cough* *Cough* “Actually… I was going to say, perhaps I could revive Vision if his body is really made from vibranium and the Mind Stone,” Leo suddenly spoke, breaking the silence.
Vision’s body wasn’t an ordinary human body; it was made of vibranium. Thus, it could be perfectly restored with a Repairing Charm.
As for the missing Mind Stone, Leo had already planned to leave it in this world, preventing anyone in his own timeline from gathering all six Infinity Stones.
But that wasn’t the most important thing. From the moment he saw this world’s Wanda, a new side quest appeared in his task panel:
“Revive Vision and prevent Wanda from turning into the Scarlet Witch.
Reward: One year of time in a small world.”
“Is that true, Mr. Leo?”
Wanda jumped to her feet, her face lighting up with excitement at his words, and the others looked at him with hope in their eyes.
If anyone else had made such a claim, they might not have believed it. But Leo was different.
He had already revived Natasha, even though the Infinity Stones couldn’t. And he had single-handedly defeated Thanos and his entire army.
If Leo said he could bring Vision back, then it was a real possibility.
“Of course. After all, in the 2012 timeline, we’re already married, and I’m your husband.”
“So naturally, I want you to be happy, even if it sounds a little strange.” Leo shrugged with a smile.
“We’re married? You’re my husband?”
Wanda’s eyes widened in shock, and she stood frozen in place. After a moment, a look of envy crossed her face.
“Then she must be very happy.”
She thought about her 2012 self—back then, she and her brother, Pietro, had sought out Hydra, volunteered for the Mind Stone experiments, and spent their days in the lab seeking revenge on Tony Stark.
“And Pietro?”
Wanda suddenly thought of her deceased brother.
Leo smiled and replied, “Oh, he’s working as a delivery guy in New York, and it seems like he’s dating Natasha lately.”
“Pfft! Dating me?”
Natasha, who had been sipping on a cola, spat it out upon hearing that.
Leo wasn’t joking. Ever since Pietro first met Natasha, he hadn’t been able to forget her. Over time, he would frequently visit her, and eventually, they started dating.
Leo hadn’t interfered, as they were both adults who could make their own choices.
Listening to Leo’s stories about his world, everyone realized that in 2012, just by having Leo around, many things had changed drastically.
“But if you use the Mind Stone to revive Vision, won’t your timeline be missing one of the Stones? Could that cause any issues?”
Tony asked with some concern.
Leo chuckled and shook his head.
“Not at all. The Infinity Stones are condensations of the fundamental laws of the universe. Even if one is missing, another will eventually emerge over time. Just like in your world, the Stones Thanos destroyed will reappear in a few thousand years.
Besides, you don’t need to worry about Thanos. If I can deal with him now, I’ll be able to handle him just the same when I get back to 2012 if he dares to come for the Stones again.”
With Leo’s explanation, everyone breathed a sigh of relief.
After all, with Leo around, there seemed to be little need to worry about whether or not the Infinity Stones existed. And besides, Leo’s 2012 had already diverged significantly from their own timeline. There wasn’t likely to be any negative impact.
With the meeting concluded, everyone went their separate ways, carrying out their own plans as they left the Avengers’ compound.
As for the frozen alien corpses and the remnants of Thanos’ army, Tony had already contacted Nick Fury, who had also been revived, and General Ross, to arrange for their recovery.
Leo chose not to interfere; after all, this wasn’t his 2012.
If it had been, he would’ve destroyed the alien bodies and weapons himself, preventing SHIELD or the government from obtaining them.
Their research wouldn’t help humanity and would only lead to a series of chain reactions and disasters.
But this was 2023, and the Avengers here had their own agreements with SHIELD and the government, so it was best to let them handle it.
For now, he would accompany 2023’s Wanda to retrieve Vision’s body from SWORD and complete his side quest before returning.
