MWM Chapter 430

This entry is part 431 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

These two people were none other than Leo and Wanda. As for the Wanda lying in bed, she disappeared as a mere illusion.

From the moment the portal appeared, Leo sensed something was wrong. When the Time Variance Authority (TVA) agents stepped through the portal, he cast a genjutsu using his Mangekyō Sharingan, leaving behind a shadow clone while teleporting with Wanda to the living room.

Thus, the Wanda in bed was just an illusion, and the Leo taken by the TVA agents was merely a shadow clone.

The high-tech weapons developed by He Who Remains and used by the TVA agents were indeed formidable. Capable of controlling time, they could capture anyone who wasn’t well-versed in the laws of time, even Thanos, if unaware of their capabilities.

But unfortunately for them, Leo not only had a decent understanding of the laws of time but was also well-versed in the TVA’s weapons. Naturally, they weren’t going to capture him so easily.

“Dear, who were those people?” Wanda asked, curious after watching Leo destroy the three time-reset devices.

Leo didn’t hold anything back and explained, “They’re from the Time Variance Authority. The TVA is…”

He then proceeded to tell Wanda everything about the TVA, He Who Remains, and the situation surrounding Tony and the others traveling to this timeline to borrow the Mind Stone.

The creator of the TVA called himself He Who Remains, otherwise known as Kang. He was originally from the 31st century, where he invented a more advanced time machine, allowing him to travel between timelines. This, in turn, led to the creation of countless new timelines, with many diverging futures.

Different versions of Kang appeared in these futures, some of whom developed ambitions to conquer the multiverse, igniting a multiversal war.

In the end, He Who Remains used the creature Alioth, which could devour time and space, to defeat all the other Kangs and isolate the Sacred Timeline—his own timeline—eliminating all other timeline branches.

To maintain the Sacred Timeline’s proper flow, he created the TVA, pulling individuals from various timelines, erasing their memories, and tricking them with the myth of the Time-Keepers.

He has remained in his citadel at the end of time, guarding the Sacred Timeline day after day.

“That sounds dangerous. Once they realize the timeline here hasn’t been reset, they’ll come back for you. Should we strike first, find that Void place, and kill He Who Remains?”

Having understood the situation, Wanda’s Chaos Magic stirred within her, and her eyes filled with killing intent. She didn’t care what happened to the Sacred Timeline or the multiverse; as long as anyone dared threaten Leo, she would not hesitate to eliminate them.

Nothing was more important to her than Leo.

“No need for that. Trust me, I’ve already thought of a way to deal with them. They won’t be coming after me again.”

Leo smiled and gently stroked Wanda’s head to calm her.

Killing He Who Remains wasn’t an option—at least not with his current strength. Even if he and Wanda worked together, they likely wouldn’t succeed. Without mastery over time itself, He Who Remains could easily evade all their attacks with his time-manipulation technology.

So killing him would be a last resort.

Besides, there wasn’t even a need to kill He Who Remains. He had already written his own death into his script. Years of guarding the Sacred Timeline had exhausted him, and he had chosen the two Lokis—male and female—as his successors, allowing them to either take his place or kill him and restart the multiversal war.

For all Leo knew, the TVA had already arrested Loki, even as they tried to apprehend him.

“How strange. I can’t believe my 2023 self would fall in love with a robot.”

Feeling reassured by Leo’s confidence, Wanda dropped her concern about the TVA. However, she couldn’t help but comment after hearing Leo mention the events of 2023.

Meanwhile, in the TVA headquarters, located in the Null-Time Zone within the cracks of time:

As soon as Leo’s shadow clone stepped through the portal, the flow of time returned to normal, revealing a retro-styled hall.

Behind the reception desk, a TVA employee was chatting with two Time Variance Authority agents.

“You’ve got a time collar around your neck, so don’t even think about resisting or trying to escape. Otherwise, the only thing you’ll get is a beating from me.”

The strong Black woman leading the agents raised her baton and warned Leo.

What surprised her was that Leo simply smiled and nodded, showing no signs of trying to escape.

Usually, high-level time offenders like him would resist after being freed from time manipulation, often needing a good beating to recognize their situation before falling in line.

But, of course, if he wanted to comply, that would make things easier.

“Come with me,” she said, leading him through the hall and stopping in front of an elevator-like door.

Just as she was about to pull the switch, another portal opened in the hall, and several more TVA guards entered, escorting a young man in a suit.

“Do you even know who I am? I’m the future King of Asgard! I’m a god! How dare you treat a god like this? Once I regain my powers, I will punish you all severely!”

Hearing the voice, Leo turned and instantly recognized the young man.

“Long time no see, Loki.”

“Leo? How is this possible? You got caught too?”

Loki’s face displayed utter shock as he noticed Leo standing nearby with the same time collar around his neck.

Loki had left Thor because he realized that following Thor around wouldn’t get him any closer to regaining his sealed powers, and watching Thor and Jane fawn over each other was becoming intolerable.

After some searching, Loki had found another possible way to break Odin’s seal: freeing the imprisoned Goddess of Death, Hela, in Norway, whose powers supposedly rivaled Odin’s.

Just as Loki had located the specific site of Hela’s imprisonment and was preparing to use his magic knowledge learned from Frigga to loosen the seal, these strange people had appeared out of nowhere and dragged him away.

“Yeah, you could say that,” Leo shrugged.

Loki suddenly burst out laughing.

“Hahaha! I can’t believe it! You’re finally getting what you deserve!”

If it hadn’t been for Leo’s interference, Loki thought, he might have already claimed the throne of Asgard by now. He wouldn’t have had his powers sealed and wouldn’t have been banished to Earth.

Seeing someone as powerful as Leo get caught filled him with delight.

However, his laughter was short-lived, as one of the TVA agents behind him promptly kicked him in the rear.

“No chatting!”

Clearly, Loki’s situation wasn’t much better than Leo’s. Both had fallen on hard times.
