MWM Chapter 433

This entry is part 434 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

After experiencing the multiversal war and erasing countless time branches, He Who Remains could see the future of everyone within the Sacred Timeline. He was certain that Leo Chen was nothing more than an ordinary person, as ordinary as one could get.

However, this version of Leo, from the 2012 branch timeline, had somehow gained powers unknown to him, able to move freely within the Time Void and possessing knowledge of the Time Management Bureau and its creator.

To be honest, He Who Remains had begun to suspect that this version of Leo might be influenced by one of the multiversal-level dimensional gods. Only such powerful beings could so easily alter the fate of someone predetermined by time.

“Could it be Chthon?”

Given Leo’s connection with Wanda, He Who Remains guessed it was highly likely related to the dark god Chthon. Even if it wasn’t, the power Leo displayed was already enough to potentially interfere with his future plans.

That was why he had so readily agreed to Leo’s terms.

“Such a troublesome guy. Iron Man didn’t die, Black Widow and Vision were resurrected, and now I have to figure out how to realign the Sacred Timeline again to avoid creating more branches.

“Well, the new multiversal war is coming soon anyway. I’ll fix it after I win and come back,” He Who Remains muttered as he jumped off his chair. After pondering for a moment, he waved his hand, dismissing the projected image in front of him, and shifted his attention to the imprisoned Loki and the escaping Lady Loki.

The multiverse’s opening was inevitable. He would deal with it later. For now, he needed to arrange his story properly to ensure that in the next Kang War across the multiverse, he could return once more.

On the other side, once Leo’s shadow clone was dispelled, his main body received all of the clone’s memories and experiences.

“Looks like things turned out well,” he remarked to himself.

After spending about a month in his main world, confirming that He Who Remains wasn’t breaking their agreement, and tidying up his affairs, Leo was ready. In his bedroom, he activated the panel to enter a new world once again.

Since he didn’t know much about the new world, *The Elder Scrolls: Skyrim*, he couldn’t determine its level of danger or what it entailed in terms of power. So, after completing the main quest, he had spent time preparing himself for this new venture.

He had focused on solidifying his understanding of the Seventh Sense, exploring the effects of his new ability, “Tsukuyomi: Real World,” and gathering high-tech weapons and supplies. Additionally, he ensured the Witcher Empire and Ninja Empire were well-prepared before leaving, as he planned to be gone for a year.

“Enter!”

As he clicked the “Enter” button on the panel, darkness enveloped his vision. When he opened his eyes again, he found himself amidst a fiery, destroyed landscape.

Simultaneously, two unfamiliar forces surged into his body.

One modified his skin, while the other fused with his soul, immediately increasing its strength by a fifth and granting it some unknown traits.

“Could this be the Breton bloodline and the Dragonborn bloodline?” Leo wondered, recalling the high-level rewards from completing his main quest.

He had received two rewards for achieving high completion of the main quest:

1. The specific **Breton racial bloodline**, which grants a natural resistance to a quarter of magic damage and allows the use of Dragonhide once per day. The Dragonhide ability can absorb 50% of magic damage for one minute, converting it into personal mana.

2. The **Dragonborn bloodline**, which allows the rapid learning of dragon shouts by absorbing dragon souls.

The first energy that modified his skin was clearly from the Breton bloodline, and he instinctively knew how to activate the Dragonhide skill.

The second energy, which enhanced his soul, was undoubtedly the Dragonborn bloodline.

However, the fact that the Dragonborn bloodline could actually enhance his soul was unexpected.

It’s important to note that the most vital aspect of a person is their soul, followed by their physical body, with the mind being an extension of the soul. If the soul is destroyed, it means death, and in mythical terms, even reincarnation would be impossible.

In cultivation, enhancing the soul’s strength usually only happens when one achieves a significant breakthrough in power.

Thus, receiving a boost to his soul right upon entering this world made the Dragonborn bloodline incredibly valuable. Even if he didn’t gain any dragon shouts later, this alone made the bloodline worthwhile.

After his body and soul adapted to the changes, a flood of unfamiliar memories entered his mind.

As with his previous entries into other worlds, the memories belonged to the native of this world whose identity he had taken over.

This local was named Lokir, a Breton from the town of Rorikstead in Skyrim.

Through Lokir’s memories, Leo roughly understood that *The Elder Scrolls* world was a high-magic, high-combat world similar to a medieval fantasy setting.

Not only were there powerful warriors and mages, but also vampires, werewolves, trolls, giants, and other mythical creatures. Moreover, intelligent life in this world wasn’t limited to humans—there were many other races as well.

The world’s races were generally divided into three main categories:

1. **Humans**, which included Nords, Imperials, Bretons, and Redguards.

2. **Elves**, which included High Elves, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Orcs, Falmer (Snow Elves), and Dwemer (Dwarves).

3. **Beast Races**, which included Argonians (lizard people) and Khajiit (cat people or tiger people).

They lived on the continent of Tamriel, though Lokir had heard rumors of other lands beyond it, though he didn’t know for sure. Tamriel was divided into nine provinces, with the current one being Skyrim.

As for Lokir’s death?

That was a longer story.

The continent of Tamriel had long been embroiled in conflict, primarily between the human-led Empire and the High Elf-led Aldmeri Dominion. The Empire had won a temporary victory but, exhausted, was forced into a peace treaty called the **White-Gold Concordat** with the Dominion.

The Concordat demanded the Empire abolish the worship of Talos, submit to Thalmor supervision, disband the Emperor’s personal guard, and cede much of southern Hammerfell to the Aldmeri Dominion.

Hammerfell refused to accept this humiliation, declared independence from the Empire, and continued fighting the Dominion, eventually driving them out of Hammerfell.

Meanwhile, many Nords in Skyrim were enraged by the ban on Talos worship. Talos, considered a great Nord hero who ascended to godhood, was a central figure in Nord spirituality.

One of Talos’s staunchest supporters was **Ulfric Stormcloak**, the Jarl of Windhelm, and the leader of the Stormcloak rebellion.

In 4E 201, the Emperor supported **Elisif the Fair**, the Jarl of Solitude, as the new High Queen of Skyrim to rule the province. But Ulfric, enraged by the Empire’s submission to the Thalmor, challenged and killed the High King **Torygg** in a duel using the Thu’um (dragon shout), sparking a civil war.

Some of Skyrim’s jarls backed Ulfric’s bid for independence, while others supported the Empire’s continued rule under Elisif, with a few staying neutral.

Lokir, originally intending to steal a horse and escape Skyrim for Hammerfell, was unfortunately caught in an Imperial ambush intended for Ulfric.

He was captured alongside Ulfric, his followers, and a Khajiit who had also been mistaken for a Stormcloak rebel. They were taken to **Helgen** for execution, bypassing a proper trial.

Lokir, desperate to escape, attempted to flee the moment he arrived at Helgen, only to be shot down by Imperial soldiers.

And now, Leo had inherited Lokir’s body and memories.

“But why does Helgen look like this? Was Ulfric’s rescue attempt successful?”

Leo scanned the area, noticing the burned corpses of both Imperial soldiers and Stormcloak rebels scattered around. It didn’t seem like a normal battle—more like a third party had intervened.

“Well, whatever happened, it doesn’t concern me much. I should just leave here and start exploring this new world,” Leo muttered.

With a quick transformation spell, he turned his tattered clothes into a set of common leather armor and picked up a simple steel sword to blend in as a regular adventurer.

He made his way toward the northern gate of Helgen.

“Whiterun should be this way,” he noted, recalling Lokir’s memories and setting off toward Whiterun.

Whiterun, located in the heart of Skyrim, was an important economic hub and a bustling center of trade. The city was surrounded by fertile farmland and was known as the “Breadbasket of Skyrim.”

Since this was his first time in the world, Whiterun seemed like a good place to gather information.

Although Lokir’s memories gave him some basic knowledge, the man was mainly a thief, knowing little beyond survival skills, thievery, and a bit of literacy. He wasn’t particularly well-informed about the wider world.

“The scenery here is really nice,” Leo mused as he strolled along the road, taking in the beautiful landscape and the faint scent of flowers in the air.

He chose not to fly or use any flashy means of transportation, opting instead for the simple act of walking.

Not only did he want to appreciate the world’s natural beauty, but he was also being cautious.

This was a magical world with real deities, and if he made too much of a spectacle of himself, he risked drawing the attention of powerful beings or gods. That would be less than ideal.

While confident in his abilities, he didn’t want to rush into a confrontation with the unknown. It was better to take things slow, observe, and gather information before deciding on his next course of action.

After all, the first entry into a new world came with a year’s worth of time, and he had stored up plenty of extra time from side quests.

After walking for about half a day, a towering mountain came into view in the distance.

Mountains weren’t unusual in Skyrim—he had passed one upon leaving Helgen, a massive peak over 2,000 meters high.

What caught his attention was a grand structure halfway up the mountain, seemingly carved entirely from stone.

Just as he was admiring the sight, an arrow suddenly shot toward him from the left.

“Looks like I’ve run into bandits,” Leo muttered as he effortlessly caught the arrow in midair, turning to see five figures hiding on the hillside.

His eyebrow arched in mild annoyance.

Skyrim’s wilds were dangerous, filled not only with wild animals, undead, vampires, and werewolves, but also bandits who ambushed travelers to rob them.

Some bandit groups were small, with just a handful of members, while others could be large, boasting over a hundred strong.

Moreover, many races in this world had inherent magical talents or special abilities. For example, his Breton bloodline granted him magic resistance and the ability to absorb magic. Other races could summon fire to protect themselves or enhance their healing abilities.

With the ongoing civil war between the Empire and the Stormcloaks, travelers could also stumble into large military battles or be mistaken for enemy combatants and executed, just like Lokir had been.

However, Leo wasn’t lamenting his own bad luck; he was referring to the bandits’. They had no idea whom they had just picked a fight with.

“Time to send you all on your way.”

In a world like this, where banditry was rampant, killing robbers wasn’t considered a crime—it was seen as a public service, and you could even loot their bodies afterward without fear of punishment.

With a casual flick, Leo sent the arrow back at ten times the speed it had come, impaling the bandit who had shot at him before they could loose a second arrow.

Seeing their comrade fall, the other four bandits immediately turned and fled, realizing they had crossed someone far more powerful than expected.

But before they could escape, one bandit in a black robe cast a fireball the size of a fist, attempting to slow Leo down.
