MWM Chapter 455

This entry is part 456 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Wait, my Primordial Spirit!”

Right after Leo instinctively let out a Dragon Shout, his face lit up with excitement.

Upon absorbing Mirmulnir’s dragon soul, he realized that his Primordial Spirit had grown significantly stronger, presenting him with a breakthrough opportunity.

Previously, Leo had already reached the peak of the Golden Core stage, and he had been planning to break through to the Nascent Soul stage due to the cultivation techniques he practiced, which were more focused on forming a Nascent Soul.

In the world of *Legend of Shushan*, cultivators breaking through the Golden Core stage had two primary paths: Nascent Soul or Primordial Spirit. The difference in power between the two was minimal.

If one formed a Nascent Soul, they would have stronger true essence but weaker spiritual power. In contrast, cultivators focusing on the Primordial Spirit had much stronger spiritual power but slightly weaker true essence.

When facing the Four-Nine Heavenly Tribulation, Nascent Soul cultivators found it easier to handle the lightning tribulations but struggled more with the demon tribulations. On the other hand, Primordial Spirit cultivators had a harder time with the lightning tribulation but found it easier to fend off the heart demons.

It ultimately came down to personal choice. After passing the tribulation and achieving the Earth Immortal stage, both true essence and spiritual power would be equally strong.

Leo had been one step away from breaking his core and forming a Nascent Soul. Even with the help of his spiritual energy converter, which sped up his cultivation, it would still have taken him three or four years to make the breakthrough.

However, with his cosmos reaching the seventh sense, his strengthened soul due to his Dragonborn bloodline, and now the absorption of the dragon soul, his Primordial Spirit had unexpectedly surpassed his true essence. He had now reached the point where he could enter seclusion and break through to the Primordial Spirit stage at any moment.

“All I need is a safe place to cultivate for a while, and I’ll be able to break through to the Primordial Spirit stage, greatly increasing my power.”

“Dragon souls… what a treasure!”

Leo’s eyes gleamed with excitement. He had realized something else.

Since absorbing dragon souls could enhance his Primordial Spirit, once he broke through to the Primordial Spirit stage, if he could absorb enough dragon souls, he could skip the long process of cultivating in that stage and quickly reach its peak.

Of course, such rapid enhancement had its drawbacks. It would deviate from the righteous path and lean toward the demonic.

A typical cultivator would likely find their unstable foundation a liability during the Four-Nine Heavenly Tribulation, leading to them being reduced to ashes by the first lightning strike.

But Leo wasn’t an ordinary cultivator. His cultivation was just one part of his overall strength. He also had a body as strong as that of a magical beast, chakra, sage chakra, the power of his cosmos, and other abilities.

Even now, he felt that if he combined all his abilities, his power might not be on par with a Heavenly Immortal, but it would be close to that of a peak Earth Immortal.

He even believed that if he returned to the *Legend of Shushan* world, he’d have a good chance of defeating Youshen before he absorbed Chiyou’s blood.

Therefore, he wasn’t concerned about the dangers of the Four-Nine Heavenly Tribulation. After enduring it, the power of the tribulation would refine both his body and his Primordial Spirit, eliminating any instability in his foundation.

“It seems that in addition to learning new magic, hunting down and absorbing the souls of all the revived dragons is now essential.”

“Issmir’s beard! You’re the Dragonborn, aren’t you? No wonder you could slay the dragon!”

As Leo was contemplating his plan for hunting dragons, the Whiterun guards, seeing him absorb the dragon soul and unleash a Dragon Shout, became visibly excited.

“Yes, I am the Dragonborn, blessed by the Dragon God.”

Leo admitted his identity without hesitation.

The Dragonborn bloodline wasn’t unique to him; many historical records mentioned it. Most of Whiterun’s native inhabitants had heard Dragonborn legends passed down from their ancestors.

According to legend, Dragonborn were humans blessed by the Dragon God, capable of slaying dragons and absorbing their power.

Even Talos, the most revered deity among the Nords, who was later removed from the Empire’s pantheon of saints, was believed to have been a Dragonborn in his mortal life as Tiber Septim.

However, by that time, dragons had long been extinct.

Therefore, the Dragonborn identity was considered prestigious among the Nords, and there was no need for Leo to hide it.

When Leo confirmed his identity, the Whiterun guards excitedly discussed it, and their gazes toward him were filled with reverence.

At that moment, Irileth approached Leo with a grateful expression and said, “Thank you for helping us slay the dragon and lifting the threat to Whiterun. I will report this to Jarl Balgruuf, and he will reward you accordingly.”

As a dark elf, Irileth wasn’t familiar with Nord Dragonborn stories and didn’t seem to care. She only knew that this adventurer possessed terrifying power, strong enough to crush a dragon and save them all. He was a true warrior deserving of respect.

“I know some restoration magic, so I’ll help heal the wounded.”

Leo smiled, brushing off the praise, and began tending to the wounded Whiterun guards.

Seeing that Leo also knew restoration magic, the onlookers’ respect for him deepened.

Though the Nords generally disliked magic and mages, there was one exception—restoration magic.

While the Mage’s Guild and many magical organizations viewed restoration magic as a secondary school of magic, unworthy of being a primary discipline, most warriors and commoners valued it highly, often regarding it as divine magic granted by the gods.

Restoration magic could heal injuries and cure diseases, making it a highly respected form of magic, especially among warriors and the general populace.

Healing potions, like the red healing potions sold in alchemy shops, could also heal wounds, but they were expensive and beyond the reach of most commoners. Only adventurers and mercenaries could afford them for emergencies. Commoners usually sought healing from temple priests who specialized in restoration magic.

Although Leo didn’t actually know the advanced restoration magic needed to heal others—he had only learned basic restoration spells for self-healing from Farengar’s books—that didn’t matter. He could use the healing magic and medical ninjutsu he had learned elsewhere to achieve the same effect.

Many of this world’s magic, even Dragon Shouts, had equivalents in the magic, Taoist arts, and ninjutsu Leo had learned in other worlds.

For example, Mirmulnir’s *Disarm* Shout worked on the same principle as his own Disarming Charm, though the *Shout* had a wider range and was harder to dodge.
