- In Marvel: I Start by Marrying Scarlett Witch [Complete]
- MWM Chapter 473
How could he verify it?
Of course, he wouldn’t take Alduin to any Daedric Prince’s realm to test it out. That would be far too foolish.
After all, the Daedric Princes were already extremely powerful, and in their own realms, their power would be multiplied several times. That would make Leo nothing more than prey, ready to be sacrificed to the Daedra.
He wouldn’t take such a reckless risk, especially since he wasn’t the Dragonborn blessed by Akatosh. His Dragon Souls were simply rewards from the main storyline.
As for the Dragonborn blessed by Akatosh, who knows where that person was right now?
However, Leo had a safer way to verify his theory since he possessed his own, albeit incomplete, realm.
“Tsukuyomi!”
Leo’s Mangekyō Sharingan spun rapidly as he looked at the bound Alduin.
In an instant, Alduin’s body vanished from the physical world, drawn into Leo’s cosmos-like realm, the world of Tsukuyomi.
At that moment, Leo dispelled the three-headed, six-armed Susanoo and sent his own spirit into the world of Tsukuyomi.
“Where is this place?”
Alduin felt himself disconnected from the mortal world, cut off from the time laws, and for the first time, panic set in.
Just then, Leo’s spirit appeared before him.
“This is my realm. Now, let’s see if you still have your so-called immortality here.”
“This is impossible! You are a Daedric Prince?! How could Father have granted the Dragon Soul to a Daedric Prince? This can’t be!”
Alduin’s dragon face was filled with disbelief.
Leo, not bothering to answer, unleashed the full mental and energy pressure of the Tsukuyomi world, forcing the airborne Alduin to crash to the ground.
Then, Leo formed a hand seal, and his flying sword transformed into two sharp, bladed wheels, slicing through Alduin’s black dragon scales.
This time, Alduin didn’t remain unscathed like before; he was cut like a normal dragon, with blood flowing from the wound and no instant healing.
“Looks like I was right!”
Retrieving his flying sword, Leo approached Alduin’s head.
Alduin fell silent.
After a long pause, seeing that Leo didn’t strike the killing blow, he finally asked:
“What do you want?”
Separated from the mortal world, he knew he could indeed be killed. His death wouldn’t affect the mortal time laws; only his own consciousness and body would cease to exist.
But in the Divine Plane, his father Akatosh could simply create another dragon to embody the end of time—a new, obedient version of Alduin.
It would essentially be him, but also not him.
“I want you to revive all the dragons, and then summon every dragon you’ve revived to one place.”
Leo said with a smile.
Alduin’s eyes filled with suspicion:
“What are you planning to do?”
Alduin suddenly recalled the dragon priest Miraak, who was once tempted by the Daedric Prince Hermaeus Mora. He speculated that Leo intended to absorb all the dragon souls to strengthen himself.
Leo met Alduin’s gaze:
“You should know that if I kill you now, you’ll completely disappear from this world.
But if you agree to my proposal, I’ll give you a chance—to gather all two hundred revived dragons and have a final, decisive battle with me.
If you win, you regain your freedom and can continue your plan to destroy the world.
If you lose, I’ll at least promise that after I kill those dragons, I won’t kill you.”
“How can I trust that you’re telling the truth?”
Alduin was tempted.
He knew Leo’s ultimate goal was to absorb the souls of all dragons.
But this was his only chance to potentially turn the tables. Even if he couldn’t defeat Leo, he could at least use the other dragons to hold him off long enough to escape.
“There’s no way to guarantee it. Right now, you only have two choices.
Either I kill you right here and now, or you accept my terms.”
Leo smiled as his flying sword transformed into two terrifying sword wheels, and the energy of the cosmos above began to gather.
Alduin knew that if he dared to utter the word “no,” death would be his only answer.
“Fine, I agree to your terms!”
“My lord, is Alduin dead?”
As Alduin vanished, Leo returned to normal and landed on the ground. Delphine, full of respect, asked him eagerly.
At this point, she was completely won over by Leo’s display of strength, her attitude and address toward him changing entirely.
“No, I’ve imprisoned him for now. I need him to draw out the other dragons.”
Leo approached Delphine, and in a flash, they teleported back to the basement of the Sleeping Giant Inn.
“I hear all the Blades are being hunted by the Empire and the Thalmor?”
“Yes, my lord. That despicable Emperor Titus Mede II betrayed us to curry favor with the High Elves!”
Delphine’s eyes blazed with anger as she spoke.
If it weren’t for the Blades risking their lives to fight on the Summerset Isles, the High Elves wouldn’t have agreed to a truce so easily.
The Blades sacrificed many of their top warriors for that battle.
Yet, Titus, in his shortsightedness, feared the growing power of the Blades and branded them as traitors to appease the High Elves, hunting them down.
Leo nodded, pulled up a chair, and sat down.
“As a Blade, you should know that the Dragonborn is the rightful ruler of this continent—especially now that the Greybeards have officially declared me as the Dragon of the North.
And that so-called Titus Mede II is just an ordinary mortal.
So, Delphine, do you understand what I’m getting at?”
“All of us Blades are willing to pledge our lives to follow you, my lord, to serve you loyally!”
Delphine’s eyes darted, quickly understanding the hidden meaning behind Leo’s words.
Leo laughed heartily:
“Good, it seems you have some sense.
Rest assured, when I unify the continent, that will be the day you Blades return to your peak.”
When it comes to dealing with the Blades, pure strength can only control them temporarily. A mix of rewards and pressure is the right way to gain loyalty.
They must understand that their interests are tied to Leo’s. Only when Leo unifies the continent can the Blades reclaim their status from being fugitives hunted by the Empire and Thalmor.
“Now, I have a task for you. Have all the hidden Blades spread this news across all the cities:
The World Devourer Alduin has returned, reviving the dead dragons and attempting to devour the world.
The Golden Dragonborn, summoned by the Dragon God Akatosh, will face Alduin and all the revived dragons in two months on the plains of Whiterun, to save the world.”
To unify the continent, simply relying on strength would leave too many loose ends, and Leo didn’t have the time or energy for that.
This dragon-slaying event was a perfect opportunity to showcase his power to the world and greatly enhance his reputation.
With that, it would be easier to win over the various factions, especially the Nords.
