- MWM Chapter 483
At the same time, Leo’s powerful Yuan Shen seemed to sense something. He turned to Wanda, who had just finished eating and drinking, and smiled.
“Wanda, do you want to see a dragon?”
“A dragon?” Wanda blinked her eyes in surprise.
Leo flapped his arms slightly, mimicking the motion of wings. “Yes, the kind of dragon you Westerners have in your legends. His name is Alduin, and he’s a very large black dragon.”
“Where can I see it?” Wanda asked, her interest piqued.
Dragons were creatures she had only ever heard about in myths as a child. Even during their travels across the universe, they had never encountered one.
“In my eyes,” Leo said, his right Sharingan spinning as he pulled Wanda into the world of Tsukuyomi, sending a sliver of his Yuan Shen to accompany her.
During Wanda’s pregnancy, unless absolutely necessary, Leo refrained from using magic or ninja arts that might affect their child. He especially avoided sending her into the Tsukuyomi world.
But now, he had no choice, because he was facing a big problem—a problem that even he found very tricky to deal with.
“Sir, entering someone’s home uninvited seems rather impolite, don’t you think?” Leo said, turning to the sofa in the living room.
As his voice fell, the previously empty sofa gradually revealed the figure of an old man with a cane.
The old man stood up, took off his hat, and bowed politely.
“My apologies for the intrusion. I didn’t expect someone else to also have their eyes on Chthon’s vessel. Although he’s still sealed away, your direct involvement with it may cause trouble for you when he escapes his seal in the future.”
When he arrived at the entrance to the neighborhood, he had already sensed a powerful presence near Chthon’s earthly vessel. However, he didn’t pay it much attention at first. As a lord of Hell, although his powers were greatly diminished when outside of Hell, his mastery of various skills and magic made most opponents irrelevant to him.
It wasn’t until he saw Leo pull Wanda into his eye that he began to take him seriously.
Creating one’s own pocket dimension—even if it was only a rough model far from a true dimension—was proof that Leo’s power had reached the threshold of an ordinary dimensional demon god.
More importantly, this man didn’t seem to be affected by the power of Vishanti, meaning he could use his full strength on Earth without restrictions.
Yet this fool had directly involved himself with Chthon’s vessel, even becoming her husband.
Although Chthon was currently sealed, once he escaped in the future, this man would undoubtedly be devoured by him.
Even as a demon lord, all Mephisto wanted was to secretly implant a fragment of his soul into the soul of the child in Wanda’s womb, planting a seed for future manipulation.
As the most cunning of demons, Mephisto loved to plant seeds of chaos in advance. Even if they were never needed, when they were, they could serve a crucial purpose.
“And who are you?” Leo narrowed his eyes. Though he had his suspicions, he wanted to confirm the old man’s identity.
There were only a few beings in this world with such a powerful and evil soul, capable of bypassing his superhuman guards and entering the room, while also knowing Chthon’s secrets.
“Oh, I haven’t introduced myself. I’m Mephisto, lord of Hell, the most honest, kind, and helpful demon!” the old man said, a “benevolent” smile on his face, though his eyes gleamed with cunning.
Hearing this, Leo couldn’t help but twitch at the corner of his mouth.
So it really was the demon lord Mephisto. But honesty and kindness had nothing to do with this guy.
In his previous life, Leo often saw a joke circulating online: “If something doesn’t make sense, it’s Mephisto.”
“Don’t ask, if in doubt, blame Mephisto.”
What did it mean? It meant that if you were watching Marvel movies or reading the comics and something didn’t make sense, just assume it’s Mephisto’s doing, and you’d be right about 80-90% of the time.
Mephisto, while not the most powerful of the dimensional demon gods, was certainly the most cunning and intelligent.
He was deceitful, manipulative, and rarely took direct action. Instead, he loved sowing chaos to achieve his own goals.
While walking the Earth, he enjoyed exploiting humanity’s weaknesses—pride, envy, wrath, sloth, greed, gluttony, and lust—tricking people into signing demonic contracts and selling their souls to him.
In the normal Marvel universe, souls didn’t naturally go to Mephisto’s hell dimension after death. Most returned to Eternity, while some went to specific dimensions based on their beliefs.
For example, Asgardians would go to the halls of Valhalla after death.
But Mephisto took particular pleasure in corrupting the noblest souls, luring them into signing contracts, and dragging them to Hell. It was both his hobby and a way to increase his power.
That’s why he was one of the few dimensional demon gods who were consistently active on Earth.
“So, the famous lord of Hell, Mephisto. Wanda is my wife, so I hope you won’t do anything that would make me unhappy. Perhaps then, we could be friends.”
Leo stepped toward Mephisto, his eyes flashing with cold light.
If they were in the hell dimension, Leo wouldn’t stand a chance against Mephisto. But here on Earth, where Mephisto’s power was restricted, Leo wasn’t afraid.
Besides, knowing what he did, Leo had already prepared for such an encounter.
Mephisto chuckled heartily, then pulled out a roll of parchment.
“Of course, we can be friends. As a demon, I love making friends! Just sign your name on this contract, and I’ll disappear from here immediately, without doing anything to harm you or your wife.”
If he could get this man’s soul into Hell as his subordinate, it would be far more valuable than merely leaving a fragment of his soul in Chthon’s vessel.
“So, it seems you don’t plan to back off?” Leo glanced at the parchment, knowing that without showing some force, it would be difficult to shake off Mephisto.
Mephisto raised his hand slightly, feigning helplessness.
“It’s not that I don’t want to back off—it’s that you don’t want to be friends with me.”
“This place isn’t convenient. Let’s talk elsewhere.”
With a flash, Leo disappeared from the room.
Mephisto calmly adjusted his hat before vanishing as well.
“You can’t get rid of me that easily.”
As the lord of Hell, Mephisto had mastered teleportation, invisibility, illusions, magic, healing, and more.
On a deserted island somewhere in the Pacific, Leo and Mephisto stood facing each other.
“That body isn’t your real one, is it? Looks like you’ll need a new one after today.”
Leo pushed his small universe to its limit, donning the Sagittarius Gold Cloth, with golden wings from the armor, plus another set of wings made from thousands of flying swords behind him.
