- MWM Chapter 492
Moments later, the injured bodyguards were fully healed and rejoined the battle with renewed energy.
“How… how is this possible?”
Algrim was stunned.
The red and green bottles they had used were life and stamina potions that Leo had brought from the world of *The Elder Scrolls*. These potions were commonly used by warriors to quickly heal injuries and recover stamina.
Despite Algrim’s immense power, he began to falter under the relentless assault led by Li San, Li Wu, and Li Liu. The bodyguards’ teamwork gradually wore him down, and he realized he couldn’t hold out much longer.
If the fight continued for a few more minutes, he feared he would be beaten to death.
“Die!”
Sensing the danger, Algrim swung his spiked bone armor, knocking away all the attackers. Ignoring his wounds, he leaped out of the encirclement and pulled a grenade-like device from his waist, tossing it toward Li San and his team.
“Get back!”
Li San’s instincts screamed danger. He quickly jumped back and warned the others to retreat.
However, a few of the bodyguards were either too slow to react or underestimated the grenade, and they couldn’t escape in time.
**Boom!**
The grenade detonated, but instead of a typical explosion, it tore open a spatial rift, creating a powerful suction force that threatened to pull the unlucky bodyguards into the rift, where they would be ripped apart.
This violent spatial energy was so destructive that even Algrim himself wouldn’t survive being sucked in.
Just as the bodyguards were about to be dragged into the rift, a figure appeared beside them.
“Galactic Star Burst!”
It was Leo, who had been observing the fight from above. Seeing his bodyguards in danger, he intervened, throwing a punch that sealed the spatial rift.
“Next time, be more cautious with unknown devices.”
“Boss, we’ve let you down!”
Li San, Li Wu, and Li Liu rushed over, their faces filled with guilt. They were embarrassed that their failure to handle the enemy had forced their boss to step in personally.
“It’s fine, just be more careful next time.”
Leo waved it off, not too concerned.
After all, their opponent was a Cursed Warrior, someone strong enough to challenge Thor. Considering that, his security team had done well. Even if Leo hadn’t intervened, they would have eventually taken Algrim down, though it might have cost a few lives.
At his current level, Li San and the others weren’t much help in serious battles—they were better suited for handling smaller issues.
“Isn’t that Mr. Leo”
At that moment, the residents of the neighborhood, who had been watching the commotion, recognized Leo. Seeing that he was the boss of these powerful security guards, they were shocked.
Leo and Wanda were well-known in the neighborhood for being a kind, down-to-earth couple.
Seeing the residents watching, Leo waved to them with a friendly smile.
“Everyone, don’t worry. This will be taken care of shortly, and you’ll all be able to rest in peace.”
Because their daughter Charlie had a natural talent for magic, causing frequent magical incidents, Leo and Wanda had already decided to move out of the neighborhood in a few days.
While they didn’t mind standing out, they were thinking about Charlie’s future. In a world where having special abilities could make someone an outcast, this could be tough on a child’s developing mind.
For this reason, Leo didn’t mind revealing his true identity to the neighbors now.
They had decided to move to the same idyllic farm where Hawkeye lived with his family.
The choice of location was partly because it had been carefully selected by Nick Fury as a safe and secluded hideaway for Hawkeye, far from the city with a beautiful environment, perfect for living a quiet life.
But it was also a place agreed upon by several superheroes, including Tony Stark and Pepper, Thor and Jane, Bruce Banner and Betty.
Yes, they had all decided to move there as well.
Tony and Pepper were planning for the future. Jane was already pregnant, and their child would be a half-human, half-Asgardian, undoubtedly not an ordinary child.
With Tony and Pepper expecting a child soon, there was a good chance their kid would be the next Iron Man.
As for Banner and Betty, it was almost certain that their child would inherit Hulk’s genes.
So, they all figured it would be best to live close to each other. Friends already, they could now become neighbors, and their children would grow up together, avoiding the feeling of being isolated because of their differences from normal kids.
Of course, living far from the city presented some challenges, particularly with work and daily life.
Hawkeye’s farm was very remote, not even located in New York.
However, for Leo, this wasn’t a problem.
Not long ago, during one of his trips to the wizarding world, the Empire’s magical research lab had developed a new type of magical door based on the concept of portkeys.
This new door worked by applying spatial magic to two portals, allowing a person to walk through one door and immediately appear in a different location.
Unlike portkeys, which were limited in number and required preset coordinates, the space doors allowed unrestricted movement with no discomfort, even for babies.
It functioned similarly to the space doors in the New York Sanctum.
So, with this new invention, Jane could simply open the door at home and instantly arrive in her office at the university, and Thor could directly enter Avengers Headquarters.
Tony and Pepper could travel between their home and Stark Tower, while Banner and Betty’s door would take them to the Li Corporation.
“Leader, they’re too strong for me. We need to initiate the final plan!”
Seeing Leo’s arrival and how easily he had sealed the spatial rift, Algrim’s expression darkened. Gritting his teeth, he pressed a button on his helmet.
At the same time, in the control room of the Dark Elves’ ship, Malekith had been monitoring the situation below. Hearing Algrim’s plea, he closed his eyes and sighed before issuing his command:
“Deactivate the cloaking device. Switch the warship to full attack mode and flatten the entire city below.”
Since Algrim’s strike team had failed, their only option now was to use the ship’s large-scale destructive weapons to annihilate the entire city and everyone in it.
As long as they retrieved the Aether before Asgard caught wind of their actions, the plan could still succeed.
Suddenly, a massive black warship, having shed its cloaking disguise, appeared in the skies above New York.
