MWM Chapter 50

This entry is part 51 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

A week after Kado was killed, the bridge from the Land of Waves to the mainland was finally completed.

From then on, the Land of Waves had no more obstacles in trading with the towns on the mainland.

“Brother Chuan, goodbye! Be sure to visit us in Konoha when you have time. I’ll treat you to some ramen—it’s absolutely delicious!”

On the bridge, Naruto waved and shouted to Leo before leaving.

With the bridge completed, Kakashi’s team had also completed their mission, and it was time to return to Konoha.

“If you’re planning on taking another mission to the capital in the future, let me know in advance. I’ll make sure to give you a good reception.”

Leo replied with a smile, holding his staff.

He had no intention of leaving the Land of Waves just yet, as it was difficult for Matsukawa alone to fully take over Kado’s shipping company. He needed to act in secret to clear away some obstacles.

However, he told Kakashi and his team that Matsukawa intended to establish an orphanage in the Land of Waves to take in the poor orphans, and he wanted to stay behind to help.

In fact, this was one of the reasons he stayed—he needed to teach the orphans some basic chakra refining techniques and ninja knowledge.

“Alright, let’s hurry back to the village. To celebrate completing the mission, let Iruka-sensei treat me to ramen.”

On the way back, Naruto was clearly in a great mood.

Sakura was the same.

“Um, Sasuke, let’s go on a date when we get back to the village?”

“No, I refuse!”

Sasuke responded without hesitation, hands behind his head. After seeing Kakashi, Zabuza, and Chuan, he felt he was still far from avenging his family and needed to train even harder.

As Kakashi walked alongside them, he looked at his three students with satisfaction but couldn’t help but think of the ninja monk from the Fire Temple named “Chuan.”

With his years of experience, Kakashi suspected that Chuan’s identity wasn’t as simple as it seemed. He wasn’t easily fooled like Sakura.

From his observations, he could tell that Matsukawa wasn’t actually Chuan’s friend; the deep-seated humility shown upon seeing Chuan was something only a servant would exhibit toward a master.

However, Kakashi didn’t believe Chuan was a bad person. Based on his various actions, Chuan seemed like a genuinely kind individual, although he might be hiding another identity.

On the other side, after Kakashi’s team left, Leo, along with Zabuza and Haku, began executing their planned actions with Matsukawa.

In less than three days, Kado’s organization was completely dismantled. Leo’s caravan absorbed all assets, and using Kado’s vast funds, began rebuilding the towns in the Land of Waves.

All the closed shops in the towns were bought at high prices, marked with Chuan’s logo, and reopened.

A large amount of supplies were transported from the bustling towns on the mainland to the Land of Waves.

Young men who were previously unemployed and standing on the streets were now recruited into Chuan’s caravan, shops, and construction sites.

Poor families now had income and no longer faced hunger. They could buy various foods and daily necessities from Chuan’s stores, and the money spent was returned to Chuan’s pockets.

Every day, the towns in the Land of Waves were changing because of Chuan’s presence. Nearly everyone’s life was closely tied to Chuan’s activities.

Children who were previously orphaned and malnourished now lived in orphanages, were well-fed and warmly dressed, and learned basic culture and knowledge from teachers Chuan had brought from the mainland.

More than a month later, with about ten days left before Leo would return to the main world.

“Water Style: Waterfall Jutsu!”

Leo formed hand seals, and a massive stream of water surged forward, crushing towards Zabuza on the other side.

“Water Style: Waterfall Jutsu!”

Facing such a wide-range jutsu, evasion was impossible. Zabuza had to use the same jutsu to counter it.

“Lightning Style: Earth Walk!”

Leo was prepared. He slammed his hands down onto the ground, and a surge of lightning spread through the water currents toward Zabuza.

“Ninja with five elemental chakra are indeed troublesome.”

Zabuza, paralyzed by the electricity in the water, had no choice but to leap onto a tree that was not electrically charged.

“Fire Style: Great Fireball Jutsu! Wind Style: Air Flow Dance!”

The C-rank Great Fireball Jutsu, enhanced by the D-rank Air Flow Dance, reached the power level of a B-rank Fire Style jutsu, forcing Zabuza to use the Water Dragon Bullet to counter the damage.

Taking advantage of this moment, Leo closed in on Zabuza from behind and attacked with a large spear.

Due to the previous paralysis from the lightning, Zabuza was slow to react and was knocked down from the tree by Leo’s spear.

Once the paralysis subsided, he intended to use his sword to break the opponent’s spear but was taken aback when the spear suddenly transformed into a giant hammer, which struck his hand, nearly causing him to lose his grip on the sword.

Thus, the two continued to exchange blows. Under Leo’s diverse and innovative attacks, Zabuza remained at a disadvantage.

“I’m done. This is too frustrating!”

After a while, Zabuza sheathed his sword, unwilling to continue sparring with Leo.

After killing Kado, Leo had hired him and Haku at a high price of 200,000 ryo a day.

Zabuza was responsible for killing and assisting Leo with jutsu practice and combat training, while Haku was in charge of teaching the orphans in the orphanage the basics of chakra refining and the jutsu Leo provided.

To avoid being pursued by the Mist’s forces and for the money, he gladly accepted.

Initially, Leo never won against him in their sparring matches, but Zabuza’s talent was indeed terrifying. He improved continuously through practical battles.

Now, not only did Zabuza struggle against Leo’s jutsu due to his five-elemental chakra, but his weapon techniques and the annoying ability to change weapons were also exceptionally refined.

In combat, it was nearly impossible for Zabuza to gain the upper hand, especially since Leo had yet to use his special taijutsu techniques that defeated Haku.

“Thanks for your help during this time. I plan to return to the Land of Fire tomorrow. Are you interested in visiting the capital of the Land of Fire?”

Leo put away his weapon and felt very pleased.

Previously, at the Fire Temple, he had trained alone, at most sparring with Jilu, but he couldn’t fully let go. This led to many of his techniques and experiences remaining in his imagination, not practically applied.

However, over these fifty days, with Zabuza, an experienced elite jonin, as a sparring partner, he had effectively developed everything he had learned.

Now, his overall strength could be considered almost on par with a typical elite jonin, with only the amount of chakra remaining as a difference.
