MWM Chapter 518

This entry is part 519 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Mr. Leo, that sun seems to be moving towards us.”

As Leo rode the cloud, searching for traces of the native inhabitants with his spiritual sense, Ant-Man Scott, who was sitting behind him, suddenly noticed that the object in the sky resembling the sun was actually approaching them.

“Oh my God, that’s not the sun; it’s coming to eat us!”

Hope, who had better eyesight, looked up after Scott’s warning and realized it wasn’t a sun at all. Instead, it was a giant jellyfish-like creature floating in the air with a massive mouth below it.

The massive creature was flying towards them with its jaws wide open, clearly seeing them as prey rather than friends.

“Don’t worry, it can’t harm you.”

Leo raised his hand, pointing upward, and a bolt of purple-tinged lightning shot out, instantly blasting the giant creature into scattered particles that rained down from the sky.

After his last encounter with the tribulation lightning, combined with his understanding of lightning through ninjutsu, magic, and Daoist techniques, Leo had gained the ability to release powerful purple lightning. While not as potent as the true divine purple lightning from the tribulation, it was far stronger than any lightning techniques he had used before.

“I found it.”

While eliminating the giant creature, Leo’s vast spiritual sense also detected the location of a native settlement.

“Speed up!”

He formed a Daoist hand seal, and the cloud beneath them accelerated, turning into a streak of white light as it headed toward a village beneath a cliff in the distance.

“Are they fighting?”

As they reached the air above the cliff, the group saw that there were two factions battling below in the village.

One side consisted of strange, intelligent beings—some humanoid and others entirely different, with heads like searchlights or bodies resembling jelly. Their houses were bizarre too, living entities that could shoot energy blasts, move, and even fly.

The other side was made up of identical-looking beings with heads like energy-filled crystal balls and bodies that seemed to be a fusion of machinery and flesh. They also possessed advanced spacecraft.

It was clear that the strange beings were the native inhabitants of the quantum realm, while the technologically advanced ones were the half-mechanical army created by Kang the Conqueror to defeat other versions of Kang.

“Retreat, retreat, fall back immediately!”

The leader of the natives, a strong woman who resembled a human, was directing her warriors to help civilians retreat into their living houses while knocking down mechanical soldiers with her weapon.

After years of battling Kang the Conqueror, they knew all too well the power of his mechanical soldiers.

Continuing the fight would only lead to death; their only hope was to retreat as much as possible and find a new place to hide. Although each retreat came at a heavy price, it was better than being completely wiped out.

“What is happening here?”

Scott looked at the chaotic battle below, his face full of confusion.

Leo turned to the three of them and said, “Stay here and don’t move. I’ll go down and help.”

With that, he vanished in a flash, reappearing next to a high-tech spaceship in mid-air that was bombarding the village below. With a casual flick of his finger, he sent the spaceship hurtling away, disappearing into the sky as if it had been struck by a planet.

“As expected from a scientist from the future, the technology and firepower of these ships are far superior to those from Xandar,” he muttered with a hint of admiration, though his body didn’t pause for a moment as he continued to teleport from ship to ship.

Within seconds, every enemy vessel in the sky had vanished.

This abrupt turn of events caused both sides of the battle to come to a halt.

The half-mechanical soldiers created by Kang the Conqueror, despite lacking true human emotions, had highly advanced programming that made them smarter than most humans. However, witnessing Leo effortlessly eliminate their entire fleet caused their logic circuits to freeze, unable to compute an appropriate response.

“Lightning Chain!”

With a snap of his fingers, a bolt of purple lightning shot downward, chaining from one mechanical soldier to the next, taking out every soldier on the battlefield in the blink of an eye.

Gracefully, Leo landed before the astonished female leader of the natives and used his spiritual voice to ask, “Do you know where Janet Van Dyne is?”

The leader, snapping out of her shock, looked at Leo with a mixture of awe and gratitude after seeing the shattered remains of the mechanical soldiers. “Thank you for helping us. If you’re looking for the resistance fighter Janet, she should be in the underground city, fighting alongside the city leader Kyla against the Conqueror.”

“Underground city, huh? Got it,” Leo nodded, then turned to leave but paused, giving the female leader a reassuring smile. “You can start preparing to return to your homes. Soon, the Conqueror will no longer exist in this world.”

With that, his figure flickered and reappeared on the cloud.

The moment Dr. Pym saw Leo return, he anxiously asked, “Did you find out anything about Janet?”

“Don’t worry, I found out she’s still alive, and she’s in the underground city with the locals,” Leo replied while making a hand seal to speed up the cloud’s movement.

He then chanted softly, “Insight Technique, Underground City!”

His soul resonated with the laws of the quantum universe, and a clear path leading to the underground city formed in his mind.

Upon hearing that Janet was indeed alive, Dr. Pym and his daughter Hope couldn’t help but shed tears of relief.

For over twenty years, they had believed that Janet was still out there, but there was always a lingering doubt about whether their hopes were true. Now, knowing she was alive, they could finally let go of their fears.

As they soared towards the underground city, Leo’s cloud carried them swiftly, reaching their destination in less than ten minutes.

The underground city was situated deep below, though describing it as underground was a bit inaccurate. The entire quantum realm resembled a universe with countless floating land masses, and the underground city was actually built on the side of one such massive landmass.

As they descended along the side of the landmass, they could see all kinds of bizarre architecture and native inhabitants riding on both biological and mechanical creatures.

However, compared to the natives flying on their mounts, the sight of Leo and the others sitting on a cloud left the locals looking up in bewilderment.

Who would use a cloud as a means of transportation?
