MWM Chapter 522

This entry is part 523 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“Janet, have you finally come to your senses and decided to come back to my side to help me again?”

Kang the Conqueror’s face showed a hint of mockery as he saw Janet standing on the cloud. He then turned to look at Leo, arrogantly raising his head and asking in a disdainful tone:

“And who are you? That guy with the hammer who calls himself the God of Thunder doesn’t seem capable of producing such powerful lightning.”

Kang had encountered enemies who could control lightning before, like Asgard’s Thor, but the strength of Thor’s lightning wasn’t nearly as powerful, and this man didn’t look like Thor at all.

He searched his memory but couldn’t recall ever seeing this person.

As for Hank Pym, the founder of the Pym Particle, Hope, and the second-generation Ant-Man Scott, he did recognize them.

These individuals existed in many versions across the multiverse, and Kang had studied them extensively and even interacted with them before.

When he met Janet in the Quantum Realm after his exile, he had immediately recognized her identity, which is why he initially sought to develop a relationship with her, hoping to persuade her to help him synthesize the energy needed to restart his ship.

During their time together, Kang had developed some feelings for Janet, but his grand ambitions always came first.

“You don’t need to know who I am. All you need to know is that I’m here to deal with you,” Leo shrugged casually.

Kang paused for a moment, then burst into laughter.

“Hahaha, you think you’re here to deal with me? Do you even know who I am? Janet, do you really think bringing this guy along will help you stand against me?”

Mid-laugh, Kang’s expression suddenly turned fierce. He stretched out his hand toward Leo as if he were trying to choke him from a distance.

“Let me show you the consequences of betraying me!”

He then twisted his wrist as if to snap Leo’s neck.

“What are you doing?”

Leo stood on the cloud, looking at Kang with a mocking expression, as if he were watching a fool.

Kang was taken aback:

“How is this possible?”

His armor was equipped with a force field manipulation device that allowed him to immobilize, lift, or even break the necks of his enemies within a certain range by simply gesturing.

He was sure he had activated this ability just now, and the opponent was well within range, so why wasn’t it working?

Could his suit be malfunctioning?

To test it, Kang reached out to grab a nearby spaceship and made a sweeping motion with his hand.

The spaceship was immediately seized by an invisible force and hurled far away.

“Strange, there’s nothing wrong with it.”

Clearly, since the spaceship had been moved, the force field manipulation system in his suit was functioning correctly.

Kang tried again to seize Leo, this time with even more force, but still, Leo remained completely unaffected.

“Are you some kind of silent mime performer?”

Leo teased with a smirk.

Kang’s suit was indeed functioning properly, and initially, a powerful force had latched onto Leo’s neck. Unfortunately for Kang, Leo’s body was too strong for such force to affect him.

When Kang tried to throw him, it was laughable because Leo’s spiritual power, which had reached the level of a celestial being, was more than enough to resist the force field. So he was just playing along with Kang for fun.

Realizing he was getting nowhere, Kang grabbed a spaceship and hurled it straight at Leo.

“Looks like he’s catching on,”

Leo muttered, raising his hand to casually deflect the ship with his psychic energy.

Kang, seeing that his tactics were failing, immediately fired two beams of blue energy at Leo, his face now showing determination.

“Now that’s a bit more interesting,”

Leo said, a hint of intrigue crossing his face.

Kang’s blue energy beams weren’t ordinary lasers but a special kind of energy imbued with temporal properties. Leo sensed that if these beams hit a living being, they could erase them from the timeline as if they had never existed.

It was the first time Leo had seen an attack that combined energy with the laws of time.

He had initially assumed that Kang’s blue energy beams were just highly destructive, capable of disintegrating targets.

“But it won’t work on me!”

Leo raised his hands, meeting the blue energy directly with his palms, not even bothering to use magic or jutsu to defend himself. No matter how much energy Kang poured into the attack, it had no effect.

“Impossible!”

Kang retracted the energy beams, his face filled with disbelief.

Even Thor, with his long lifespan, would have aged rapidly under this attack, significantly weakening his powers. Yet, Leo appeared completely unaffected.

Kang didn’t know that after consuming the fruit of the Divine Tree, Leo’s body had acquired the attribute of immortality, making him immune to time-based attacks.

Such temporal energy was entirely useless against Leo, and its destructive power wasn’t enough to damage his physical defenses.

“Alright, I think it’s time to end this!”

Leo disappeared from his spot, instantly reappearing in front of Kang, reaching out to strip away Kang’s armor.

Sensing the threat, Kang’s suit activated a defensive force field, attempting to repel Leo.

However, Leo’s inner cosmos exploded with power, and a single blow shattered the force field. He then reached out to seize Kang.

Realizing he was no match for Leo in a direct fight, Kang activated a small wormhole generator on his back, instantly teleporting himself to the control room of his Temporal Citadel.

“Who is this guy, really?”

Kang muttered to himself, slightly out of breath. He quickly pressed a button in the control room, projecting his image across the skies of the Temporal Citadel.

He issued a command to his army of half-mechanical lifeforms:

“Attack him! Kill him!”

If he couldn’t win one-on-one, he’d leverage his massive army to overwhelm his enemy. That was his true fighting style as a strategist and scientist.

Seeing the swarm of spaceships rise into the sky, City Lord Kyla became frantic:

“We need to retreat now! Let me gather all the warriors before we mount another attack!”

Kyla’s faith in Kang’s invincibility had been shattered, and now he saw a glimmer of hope for victory.

But Leo just smiled and shook his head:

“No need to trouble yourselves. Open!”

His Nine Tomoe Yin-Yang Rinne Sharingan on his forehead suddenly opened.
