MWM Chapter 574

This entry is part 575 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

“This matter is no small thing. There’s no need for you both to decide immediately. If you wish, you can bring the three children to Yuquan Mountain’s Golden Mist Cave. I have other matters to attend to, so I’ll take my leave now.”

Without waiting for Yao Ji to make a decision, Leo immediately used the *Sky Traversing Technique* and disappeared in the blink of an eye.

“As expected of a disciple of the Chan Sect—his speed on a cloud is astonishing, even for a mere Celestial Immortal.”

Yao Ji watched as Leo vanished thousands of miles away in an instant and couldn’t help but marvel. Even with her cultivation at the peak of the Golden Immortal level, her cloud-riding speed was on par with his.

Thinking this over, her mind slowly started to make a decision.

“That should do it.”

As Leo traveled by cloud, he murmured to himself.

Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan, all descendants of Yao Ji, were naturally talented in cultivation. Yang Jian, in particular, was destined to lead the third-generation disciples of the Chan Sect.

Yang Chan, the future owner of the *Lotus Lantern*, was also highly gifted. Even Yang Jiao, who was the least talented of the three, would certainly reach the Golden Immortal level if he didn’t die prematurely.

Bringing these three under his master’s tutelage shouldn’t pose any problem, even if Yuan Shi Tianzun foresaw it.

As for his master, Yu Ding Zhenren, after spending a year with him, Leo knew him well enough to easily persuade him to accept the children.

Of course, Yao Ji might not agree, but that was fine. If things didn’t work out, he could always proceed with a backup plan.

Returning to the Golden Mist Cave with wine and meat that Yu Ding Zhenren liked, Leo said:

“Master, today when I was on my way to Chentang Pass, I passed through a county town called Guanjiangkou. I suddenly saw three beams of spiritual light shooting up into the sky. When I went down to investigate, I found three children who were born with celestial energy.”

Yu Ding Zhenren’s eyes lit up with curiosity.

“Born with celestial energy, without cultivation?”

“Indeed, Master. I even paid a visit to their home. However…”

Leo trailed off, looking hesitant.

Yu Ding Zhenren immediately asked:

“What is it?”

“Please forgive me, Master, for acting beyond my authority. When I saw how exceptional the children’s talents were, I told them that if they wished to cultivate, they could come to Yuquan Mountain’s Golden Mist Cave and seek your guidance. If Master does not wish to accept them, I will send them away.”

Leo pretended to look guilty.

Yu Ding Zhenren patted his shoulder.

“No need to apologize! If those children are truly as gifted as you say, you should’ve brought them here right away. If you come across something like this in the future, don’t let it slip through your fingers.”

After realizing how eager he sounded, Yu Ding Zhenren quickly stroked his beard, trying to regain his composure.

“However, we should not be too casual about this. Some trials are necessary. Let them make the journey to show their sincerity in seeking a master.”

Finding talented disciples was as rare as finding a great teacher. Yu Ding Zhenren believed that while he was currently stuck at his current level, unable to progress, taking on more highly talented disciples like Li Qing would ensure his lineage’s future strength and reputation.

Three days later, at the foot of Yuquan Mountain.

“Jiao, Jian, Chan, when you go up the mountain, you must diligently follow Yu Ding Zhenren’s teachings and listen to your senior brother. Do not misbehave. You can only return home once your cultivation is complete. Do you understand?”

Yao Ji looked at her children—eight-year-old Yang Jiao, six-year-old Yang Jian, and three-year-old Yang Chan—with reluctance in her eyes, but her tone was stern.

The three children, kneeling on the ground, were all in tears.

“Yes, Mother.”

“Yang Tianyou, you take them up the mountain. I won’t be going.”

Yao Ji, with a wave of her hand, removed the seal that had been restricting the children’s magical abilities. She then turned to her husband, Yang Tianyou.

For the sake of the children’s safety, she couldn’t ascend the mountain herself, nor could she reveal her identity as the Goddess of War and Emotions. Otherwise, it could jeopardize their chances of being accepted as disciples.

In addition, cutting ties for now would help the children avoid future entanglements with fate.

Yang Tianyou nodded and led the children up the mountain.

“Master, they’re here.”

While meditating, Leo sensed Yao Ji’s powerful magical aura from the foot of the mountain. He opened his eyes and alerted Yu Ding Zhenren, who was leisurely drinking wine and reading a book.

Yu Ding Zhenren quickly stood up, tidied his Daoist robe, and sat cross-legged on his cushion.

“Disciple, do you think our cave is too simple?”

After taking a look around the cave, which was filled with nothing but Daoist scrolls and stone furnishings, Yu Ding Zhenren appeared slightly embarrassed.

Leo smiled and said:

“Leave it to me, Master.”

With a wave of his hand, the once plain cave was suddenly filled with misty celestial energy. Various decorations fitting for an immortal’s cave appeared, transforming the space in an instant.

Yu Ding Zhenren stroked his beard in satisfaction.

Not only was his eldest disciple extremely gifted in cultivation, but his talent for learning spells was also extraordinary. He often innovated and created new techniques on his own.

About an hour later, a panting Yang Tianyou arrived at the cave with his daughter, Yang Chan, in his arms and his two sons, Yang Jiao and Yang Jian, by his side.

“Yang Tianyou of Guanjiangkou, with my children Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan, humbly greets Yu Ding Zhenren.”

Seeing the celestial atmosphere of the cave, Yang Tianyou hurriedly put down Yang Chan and respectfully bowed toward the entrance.

Yu Ding Zhenren cleared his throat and put on a dignified posture:

“I foresaw your arrival today and understand the reason behind it. Come in.”

Leo, standing to the side, couldn’t help but stifle a smile. Just an hour ago, Yu Ding Zhenren had been drinking wine, completely unaware of their impending arrival. But as the senior disciple, Leo, of course, wouldn’t expose him.

With some smooth talking, Yu Ding Zhenren quickly convinced Yang Tianyou to leave his three children behind and return down the mountain.

And so, the Golden Mist Cave at Yuquan Mountain gained three new disciples, and Leo acquired two junior brothers and a junior sister.

“These three will become key players in the future upheaval of the heavens!”

Watching Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan kneel and pledge themselves as disciples, a satisfied smile spread across Leo’s face.

Yao Ji would be imprisoned beneath Peach Mountain, and Yang Jian’s rebellion against the heavens was an inevitable event.

What Leo aimed to do was strengthen Yang Jian’s side during the celestial rebellion, ensuring that it would be as successful as possible—ideally, causing as much chaos as Sun Wukong’s rebellion. In the ensuing turmoil, he could swoop in and reap benefits from the Heavenly Court.

For example, passing through the *Peach Garden* and picking a few celestial peaches along the way wouldn’t be too much, would it?

In any case, the three Daoist sects would enter seclusion for seven years after the grand gathering in ten years, and they would have a valid reason not to intervene. As long as he didn’t kill key figures like the Jade Emperor or the Queen Mother, Yuan Shi Tianzun, his powerful patron, would have his back.

Of course, everything needed a proper justification. He couldn’t rebel against the Heavenly Court just to steal peaches—that would be unacceptable.

After all, the Heavenly Court was the legitimate governing body of the three realms, appointed by Hongjun himself, and the Jade Emperor was the rightful ruler. Some respect had to be maintained.
