MWM Chapter 578

This entry is part 579 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

At Yuquan Mountain, Golden Mist Cave.

Leo placed Yang Tianyou’s soul back into his body and then pierced him with the Southern Bright Flame Sword. Moments later, under the power of the sword’s life-restoring magic, Yang Tianyou awoke, fully healed.

“Father, what happened? Who killed you? Where has Mother gone? Why were those celestial soldiers surrounding our home?”

Seeing his three children, Yang Tianyou’s eyes reddened as he recounted everything that had happened.

“What? Your wife is the Jade Emperor’s sister?

No wonder! No wonder the three of you are so gifted!”

Yu Ding Zhenren was shocked after hearing this. He had never known that his three disciples’ mother was the Goddess Yao Ji from the Fourth Heaven of Desire. If he had known, he might have thought twice about accepting them as his disciples.

Yao Ji’s secret union with a mortal violated the celestial laws, and she was destined to be hunted by the Heavenly Court. By taking in her three children as disciples, Yu Ding Zhenren knew it might bring trouble upon them. Although the Chan Sect wasn’t afraid of the Heavenly Court, the Jade Emperor was still the nominal ruler of the three realms.

“I’m going to save Mother!”

Hearing that his mother had been captured, the hot-headed Yang Jian immediately attempted to use his powers to fly to Guanjiangkou to rescue her.

“I’m going too!”

Yang Jiao, though more composed than Yang Jian, was still unable to sit still.

Only Yang Chan remained calm, pulling her two brothers back and advising them:

“Big Brother, Second Brother, if Senior Brother didn’t see Mother when he brought Father back from Guanjiangkou, it means she’s already been taken to the Heavenly Court. If you go now, you’ll only run into the celestial soldiers waiting to capture us.”

“Then we’ll storm the Heavenly Court to save her!”

Yang Jian gritted his teeth in determination.

At that moment, Yu Ding Zhenren hurriedly stopped Yang Jiao and Yang Jian, panicking as he said:

“My little ancestors! Are you seeking death? With your current strength, you think you can storm the Heavenly Court? You wouldn’t even get past the Southern Gate! Your mother, Yao Ji, is a peak Golden Immortal, and even she was captured!”

“Master, don’t stop me! I must go to the Heavenly Court and bring my mother back.”

Yang Jian tried to dodge Yu Ding Zhenren, but the latter hugged Yang Jian’s waist tightly, refusing to let go.

Yu Ding Zhenren knew that as long as his disciples stayed in the cave, he could protect them under the name of the Chan Sect. But if they left to rescue their mother, they would be openly defying the celestial laws, and there would be no protection for them.

“Stop this, all of you!”

It was then that Yang Tianyou spoke up.

“None of you are to leave here. Your mother told you to stay and cultivate diligently, to listen to your master. Have you all forgotten?”

Although Yao Ji’s capture tore at his heart, Yang Tianyou knew that his priority was ensuring the safety of his children. He couldn’t allow them to go to the Heavenly Court and throw their lives away.

“But what about Mother?”

Yang Jiao and Yang Jian, though reluctant to disobey their father, were clearly frustrated.

At this moment, Yang Chan turned her gaze to Leo, who had been silent until now:

“Senior Brother, what should we do now?”

In her eyes, Senior Brother Li Qing was far more reliable than their master. In such a situation, it was best to listen to his advice.

Feigning deep thought for a moment, Leo replied:

“Of course, we must save your mother, but we can’t act recklessly. The Heavenly Court is the rightful ruler of the three realms, and they have many powerful immortals. You’re not strong enough yet. Stay here and focus on your cultivation. I’ll go to the Heavenly Court and gather information.”

He then turned to Yu Ding Zhenren, who looked as if he wanted to object, and reassured him with a smile:

“Master, don’t worry. With my mastery of the *Eight-Nine Mystical Arts*, I can transform into anything. No one will be able to trace me back to the Chan Sect or our teachings.”

He knew what Yu Ding Zhenren was concerned about.

“Alright, just be careful. Don’t start any conflicts.”

Yu Ding Zhenren reluctantly released Yang Jian, giving Leo some final instructions.

He trusted his eldest disciple, believing that Leo’s calm demeanor wouldn’t lead to any trouble.

“Before I go, however, we need to deal with the intruders outside.”

At that moment, Leo turned his attention to the cave entrance.

Just then, a voice came from outside:

“There’s a cave over there! Go inside and search it. His Highness said we can’t leave any corner of Yuquan Mountain unchecked. We must find the Yang siblings and execute them on the spot!”

“It’s the celestial soldiers!”

Hearing this, Yu Ding Zhenren scratched his head in frustration.

“Perfect timing. You all hide in the spatial treasure I’ve crafted, and I’ll take care of this.”

Leo quickly stowed Yu Ding Zhenren and the others inside his *Tsukuyomi World*, then bellowed:

“Who dares trespass into the Golden Mist Cave?”

Following his roar, a dragon’s powerful cry reverberated, sending a small squad of celestial soldiers flying into the air.

In the distance, the Great Golden Crow heard the commotion and immediately flew over with a large group of celestial soldiers and generals.

“Who are you?”

The Great Golden Crow, seeing a man in Daoist robes standing at the cave entrance, refrained from attacking immediately.

Leo stood with his hands behind his back, calmly replying:

“I am Li Qing, disciple of Yu Ding Zhenren, who is under the tutelage of Yuan Shi Tianzun. Who are you to trespass upon the cave where my master practices? Do you intend to make an enemy of the Chan Sect?”

He threw out a heavy accusation right from the start.

The Great Golden Crow frowned upon hearing this and responded:

“I am the Great Golden Crow of the Heavenly Court, sent by the Jade Emperor to apprehend the criminals Yang Jiao, Yang Jian, and Yang Chan. I meant no offense.”

Accusing him of opposing the Chan Sect was no light matter. Even the Jade Emperor, as ruler of the three realms, would bow in deference to Yuan Shi Tianzun. Unless absolutely necessary, the Great Golden Crow had no desire to clash with the Chan Sect.

Hearing this, Leo smiled:

“So, you are the Great Golden Crow of the Heavenly Court. It seems this is just a misunderstanding. Yuquan Mountain is my master Yu Ding Zhenren’s domain, and there are no Heavenly Court fugitives here. I kindly ask you to withdraw your men and not disturb our cultivation.”

“I’ve heard that today is the ninth day of the ninth month, the day when Daoist disciples gather at Kunlun Mountain for seclusion. Why have you and your master not gone?”

A hint of suspicion flashed in the Great Golden Crow’s eyes.

They had searched all of Yuquan Mountain without finding the Yang siblings. Either they weren’t here, or they were hiding in Yu Ding Zhenren’s cave.

“My master is attending the seclusion, but he left me behind to guard the cave.”

Leo responded with a smile.

The Great Golden Crow nodded but remained skeptical:

“Then please step aside. We will search the cave. If we find no criminals, we will leave at once.”

“Are you deaf, or did you not hear me earlier? I’ve been left in charge of guarding the cave, and without my master’s permission, no one is allowed to enter—no one!”

Leo’s tone was still polite, but his voice was firm.

The Great Golden Crow’s suspicion deepened:

“How dare you obstruct the Heavenly Court’s search for criminals! Do you know the punishment for this?”

“And what’s your true intent in forcibly entering a Chan Sect cave full of Daoist teachings? What are you trying to accomplish, Great Golden Crow?”

The Great Golden Crow’s voice was loud, but Leo’s was even louder.
