MWM Chapter 582

This entry is part 583 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

In the eyes of the Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother, even if everything the Great Golden Crow said was true, he was still at fault, as the final outcome was that he found no criminals in the cave.

And as Leo pointed out, without solid evidence, anyone would believe Leo over the Great Golden Crow, especially since Leo had the recording stone.

“Who says I have no evidence? I…”

The Great Golden Crow started to mention his 50,000 celestial soldiers as witnesses but quickly realized they were Heavenly Court’s own soldiers and wouldn’t be credible witnesses for him.

Moreover, during the fight, they had all been knocked unconscious by Leo’s magic, and none of them witnessed what happened inside the cave.

Seeing the Great Golden Crow stammer and fail to present a convincing defense, both the Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother were speechless. This child had been thoroughly outwitted and manipulated.

At the same time, they couldn’t help but sigh again. The disciples of the Chan Sect were indeed cunning, and their strength was formidable. Even a third-generation disciple could overpower one of the Heavenly Court’s strongest, the Great Golden Crow, leaving him defenseless.

“Ahem, this young Taoist priest seems to have profound cultivation. May I know your name?”

The Queen Mother’s eyes flickered as she spoke to Leo with a gentle smile.

Leo quickly adjusted his expression, returning to his usual cheerful demeanor:

“Reporting to the Queen Mother, I am Li Qing, just a humble guardian of the cave, unworthy of such praise for my cultivation.”

“How modest! Li Qing, it’s true that the Great Golden Crow was at fault, but this was merely a misunderstanding. There’s no need to make it known throughout the Three Realms.

How about this: I’ll have someone pick some ripe peaches from the Immortal Peach Garden for you, and I’ll also ask Laozi for a few pills to aid in your cultivation. How does that sound?”

The Queen Mother offered warmly.

Knowing how much disciples of the Chan Sect valued their cultivation, she hoped to resolve the matter by offering peaches and pills.

However, Leo wasn’t about to give up such a golden opportunity for a few peaches and pills.

His ambitions went far beyond such small rewards, which wouldn’t even help him break through to the mid-stage of the Taiyi Golden Immortal.

Of course, he wouldn’t use this opportunity to plead for leniency for Yaoji either—that would be foolish.

First, it wouldn’t align with the interests of the Chan Sect, and second, there was no way the Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother would compromise their authority just to save Yaoji because of the Great Golden Crow.

“While the peaches and pills are wonderful, I don’t particularly need them,” Leo declined outright.

The Jade Emperor and the Queen Mother’s expressions immediately darkened.

“Then what would it take for you to drop this matter, Li Qing?”

This time, the Queen Mother didn’t beat around the bush.

Still smiling, Leo replied:

“Your Majesty and Your Highness, there seems to be a misunderstanding. I never intended to pursue this matter further.

Since you both have personally spoken, I would be remiss to continue pressing the issue. I’m not seeking any reward.”

“Ah, truly worthy of a Chan Sect disciple, so understanding,” the Jade Emperor laughed, visibly relieved.

At this point, he even felt that his earlier suspicion of Leo deliberately scheming against the Great Golden Crow was unwarranted. It seemed the Great Golden Crow’s own recklessness had caused the offense.

The Queen Mother, however, remained a bit skeptical.

“But I do hope that if any of my fellow Chan Sect disciples make minor mistakes in the future, Your Majesty and Your Highness will remember today’s goodwill and show leniency,” Leo added.

The Jade Emperor waved his hand:

“Of course, of course. Who is without fault? It’s good to correct one’s mistakes.”

“Thank you, Your Majesty and Your Highness,” Leo said, achieving his goal. He then left the Heavenly Court.

His earlier request wasn’t for the sake of the Yang siblings but for another Chan Sect disciple.

He wanted the Heavenly Lord of Primordial Beginning to know that, as a third-generation disciple, he was working to safeguard the Chan Sect’s interests and preserve its strength. That way, when the time came for bigger plans, the Heavenly Lord would back him up.

A few peaches and pills?

He aimed for the entire Immortal Peach Garden and all the pills Laozi could make!

As Leo cheerfully departed, Nezha, who had been hiding with a spell, transformed into a giant wasp using the Thirty-Six Transformations.

A few days ago, with his master Taiyi Zhenren in seclusion, Nezha had returned home to Chentang Pass.

He had heard from the villagers about Ao Bing, the third prince of the Dragon King of the East Sea, behaving arrogantly and disturbing the mortals by the sea. Today, Nezha decided to stir up some trouble at sea, drawing out Ao Bing and the sea patroller Yaksha.

Seeing Nezha’s young age, Ao Bing and the Yaksha thought he’d be easy to capture and bring back to the Dragon Palace for questioning.

But they underestimated him. Despite his young age, Nezha was immensely powerful. He defeated them both in a single round.

The old Dragon King, enraged by the loss of his son, planned to file a complaint in the Heavenly Court.

Nezha, knowing that if the Dragon King complained, his parents would suffer the consequences, decided to intercept him at the Southern Heavenly Gate.

Since he flew too fast while the Dragon King was too slow, Nezha killed time by sneaking around the Heavenly Court.

He witnessed the Jade Emperor judging Yaoji and nearly revealed himself out of righteous indignation.

Later, he saw Li Qing, a disciple of his uncle Yuding Zhenren, teasing the Jade Emperor, Queen Mother, and the Great Golden Crow. Determined not to be outdone, Nezha transformed into a wasp and stung the Jade Emperor and Queen Mother.

“Take that for your injustice! Take that for your heartlessness!”

“Ouch! Ouch! Guards! Protect us!”

Hearing their cries, Nezha darted out of the Queen Mother’s palace before the celestial guards could catch him and returned to the Southern Heavenly Gate to wait for the Dragon King.

About half an hour later, he spotted the Dragon King approaching from afar. Nezha cast an illusion, transforming the area into the Heavenly Court and himself into the Jade Emperor to play a trick on the Dragon King.

He not only forbade the Dragon King from pursuing justice for Ao Bing’s death but also demanded he prepare lavish gifts to thank Li Jing for raising such a fine son.

Realizing the deception, the Dragon King saw through Nezha’s disguise.

Nezha dropped the act, demanding the Dragon King either die there or swear never to bring this matter to the Heavenly Court.

The Dragon King refused. Soon, his fourth daughter arrived to support him, but together they were no match for Nezha. Seeing that Nezha was ready to kill them with his Fire-tipped Spear, a hand suddenly appeared and stopped him.

“Hold your hand, Nezha!”

It was Leo, who had been watching the drama unfold from the sidelines.

Killing the third prince of the East Sea wasn’t a big deal, but killing the Dragon King and his daughter would be difficult to manage.

“It’s you, Senior Brother Li Qing!”

Nezha looked up and immediately recognized Li Qing, the disciple of Yuding Zhenren, from the Queen Mother’s palace earlier.

“I’m not just your senior brother; I’m your elder brother. How’s Uncle Li Jing doing lately?”

Leo asked with a cheerful smile.
