MWM Chapter 587

This entry is part 588 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

**The *The Lotus Lantern* World, Five Years Later.**

“This old Dragon King’s thousand-year-old celestial wine is indeed exquisite, though there’s too little of it,” Leo muttered, smacking his lips as he rode a cloud away from the East Sea Crystal Palace, heading back to Jin Guang Cave on Mount Qianyuan.

During these five years in the *The Lotus Lantern* world, Leo hadn’t been idle. Leveraging his status as a third-generation disciple of the Chan Sect and his formidable Taiyi Golden Immortal power, he had traveled widely to form alliances.

He visited the palaces of the Four Seas Dragon Kings, met gods of the Heavenly Court, and even visited wandering immortals, earth immortals, and demons across various regions. He made multiple trips to the Western Great Thunderclap Temple, conversing with many Buddhas and Bodhisattvas.

By now, most of the notable figures in the world, save for the sequestered disciples of the Three Sects on Kunlun, had encountered him.

Everyone now knew about Yuding Zhenren’s disciple, Li Qing—a powerful figure with an extraordinarily resilient body thanks to his mastery of the Eight-Nine Mystical Arts. Known for his humility and friendliness, he was someone who could help solve most problems.

Of course, those who refused to acknowledge him either had formidable backgrounds or, lacking such, mysteriously disappeared.

As soon as Leo returned to Jin Guang Cave, the Yang siblings rushed to greet him.

“Senior Brother, our little sister has reached the Golden Immortal level. Can we now rescue our mother?” Yang Jian asked eagerly.

Leo scanned them with his spiritual sense, nodding in satisfaction:

“Good, it’s about time!”

During their five years of secluded training, the Yang siblings had pushed their limits, focusing intensely on cultivating their strength to rescue their mother from the Heavenly Court.

Now, Yang Jian had reached the peak of the Golden Immortal level, Yang Jiao was at the mid-stage, and Yang Chan had just entered the realm.

“Uncle Taiyi, is Nezha’s clone ready?” Leo turned to Taiyi Zhenren.

Taiyi Zhenren waved his hand, and a humanoid figure emerged from his sleeve.

“Yes, crafted from a petal of the Treasure Lotus Lamp, this lotus body can wield power up to the early stage of the Taiyi Golden Immortal.”

“That’s sufficient. Nezha, return to Jin Guang Cave immediately!” Leo sent a telepathic message to Nezha in Chentang Pass.

“By the way, where is my master?” Leo asked, noticing Yuding Zhenren’s absence.

Taiyi Zhenren chuckled, pointing to a closed chamber:

“My bookish junior has finally had an epiphany. He’s in seclusion, and when he emerges, his cultivation should rival mine.”

“That’s wonderful news,” Leo smiled.

Even among the Twelve Golden Immortals, Yuding Zhenren was highly talented. His lack of progress had stemmed from his obsession with techniques over foundational cultivation. Now enlightened, his rapid advancement to the Taiyi Golden Immortal level seemed inevitable.

“Hmph, Father is too stubborn!” Nezha huffed as he flew into Jin Guang Cave on his Wind-Fire Wheels, looking disgruntled.

“What now, my dear disciple?” Taiyi Zhenren teased, pinching Nezha’s cheek.

Nezha plopped down on a cushion, hands on his hips, and began complaining about his father, Li Jing.

Leo listened, already familiar with Nezha’s strained relationship with his father. Nezha’s sense of justice often led him to intervene in the affairs of Chentang Pass, where he dealt harshly with wrongdoers, usually resulting in severe or fatal consequences. The victims were often related to the wealthy or officials, who would then report Nezha to Li Jing.

Li Jing, a rigid bureaucrat with a deep-seated bias against Nezha due to his unusual birth, would always scold him regardless of the circumstances. Though he couldn’t punish Nezha effectively, this dynamic strained their relationship.

With Leo mediating, things were manageable, but in his absence, conflicts flared frequently.

“Nezha, your father’s mindset is deeply ingrained due to his upbringing. Next time, be discreet. Don’t let him find out,” Leo advised.

Li Jing’s loyalty might have made him a favored servant in the Heavenly Court, but his inflexibility created challenges on Earth.

“Sometimes, I just can’t help it,” Nezha sighed, then brightened: “Anyway, why did you call me back?”

Leo smiled:

“Yang Chan has reached the Golden Immortal level. We’re preparing to assault the Heavenly Court.”

“Finally! We’re going to fight the Heavenly Court!” Nezha’s face lit up with excitement. His frustrations with Li Jing had left him eager for a proper outlet.

“But remember, we can’t use our true identities. You’ll use your lotus body, wield new weapons, and adopt a new name. We’ll pose as wandering cultivators.”

With a flick of his hand, Leo’s appearance transformed. His Daoist robe turned into a dark feathered garment, and he took on a grim, shadowy visage.

“I shall be known as the Dark Sun Demon Lord.” He summoned the Underworld Divine Sword, reforged with his Three-Flame True Fire.

Nezha immediately detached his spirit to merge with the lotus body crafted by Taiyi Zhenren.

“What should my name be?” Nezha pondered, his eyes lighting up as he remembered the old Dragon King.

“Got it! I’ll be the Sea Overturning Demon Lord!”

Leo handed him Poseidon’s Trident, which he had reforged with the Three-Flame True Fire.

Turning to the Yang siblings, he continued:

“Yang Chan has the Treasure Lotus Lamp. Yang Jian, I’ll help you find your weapon. Yang Jiao, use this axe.”

A lightning-clad battle axe appeared in Leo’s hand, an artifact he had obtained from Thor in another universe. Though not as formidable as the Treasure Lotus Lamp or the Three-Headed Divine Dragon’s Trident, it was still a top-tier acquired spirit treasure.

With everything prepared, the group bid farewell to Taiyi Zhenren and Yang Tianyou, heading to the base of Mount Kunlun, where the Three-Headed Divine Dragon was sealed by Yuanshi Tianzun’s talisman.

“Master Ancestor, I, your disciple, must release the Three-Headed Divine Dragon to save my junior’s mother. Please forgive this transgression,” Leo said, bowing toward Mount Kunlun before breaking the seal.
