MWM Chapter 60

This entry is part 61 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

A series of clear knocks on the glass interrupted Leo’s meditation.

Turning around, he saw Tony Stark in his red and gold Iron Man suit, hovering outside the large glass window, tapping on it.

“Why didn’t you use the front door?”

Leo opened the window, allowing Tony to enter the office.

Tony removed his helmet and placed it on the desk, raising his hands helplessly:

“I couldn’t. Ever since the press conference this morning, the news about me is everywhere. If I came in through the front door, I’d be mobbed before reaching you. And soon, a horde of reporters would invade your building, causing you unnecessary trouble.”

“Actually, that sounds pretty good. It would give us some free advertising for our company.”

Leo handed Tony a glass of water.

Tony took the water with a nod of thanks:

“Thanks. If you want advertising, you can always talk to Ms. Potts. She knows plenty of channels for that. So, what do you need my help with?”

“Ms. Potts has already introduced us to many channels and has indeed helped boost our product sales, but it’s still not enough. I need some help from you personally.”

Leo sat back down and looked at Tony.

Although the Li Group’s three-colored pills were being sold globally, their market was strongest in Sokovia and just starting in New York. Sales in other countries weren’t as strong.

The main reason was that many people didn’t know how effective these products were. The Li Group couldn’t afford extensive marketing in every country, and competitors often banded together to discredit their products.

This meant many had never tried the pills and didn’t believe in their effectiveness, especially the newer ones. However, the affordable and effective green survival pill was beginning to make a mark, and in a few years, it would likely be popular worldwide despite any opposition.

But Leo couldn’t wait for years. He needed the three-colored pills to become globally recognized now to rapidly accumulate wealth and complete his main mission.

So, he turned to Tony for help.

“Me? That’s something Ms. Potts handles better than I ever could. If you need improvements to your production machinery, I can certainly help with that.”

Tony shook his head, looking a bit helpless. He was a genius inventor, but not a businessman. He spent most of his time in the lab or at parties, leaving business matters to others.

“Not really. You can help a lot.

If you’re willing to endorse our three-colored pills and place some advertisements on a few non-essential parts of your suit, it would tremendously boost our product’s credibility and sales!”

Leo smiled warmly.

If Iron Man himself endorsed a product, who wouldn’t believe in its efficacy? After using it a few times, people would be convinced by its results.

This would cause the sales of the three-colored pills to skyrocket. Maybe it wouldn’t surpass Stark Industries at its peak, but it would easily meet the minimum requirements to unlock a new world.

Tony looked at Leo in disbelief.

“Leo, you must be joking. You know I can’t turn my suit into a billboard. That’s… just too embarrassing!”

Tony had come to show off his Mark suit to Leo, not expecting to be asked to use it for advertising. It made him feel like he had walked into a trap.

“I’m not joking. Seriously, you’ve tried our three-colored pills. Don’t they work as well as advertised?”

Leo’s expression was earnest.

Tony thought for a moment and reluctantly nodded:

“They work great, but that’s not the issue…”

Leo interrupted him:

“I know what you’re getting at. But Tony, think about it. If the three-colored pills sell well globally, especially the green ones, it will significantly improve the lives of many impoverished people. You’d be doing something incredibly meaningful, just like when you decided to shut down Stark Industries’ weapons division.”

Tony looked conflicted.

Leo was right. He had seen many starving poor people while flying to small countries to fight terrorists. The green pills were affordable and nutritious, which could be a godsend for the poor if widely promoted.

But something about the idea still felt wrong. Becoming the spokesperson for the three-colored pills and advertising on his Iron Man suit was difficult for him to accept.

“No, Leo, I still can’t do it. I’ll fund a massive ad campaign through Ms. Potts instead. Oh, and I just remembered something important. I need to go!”

Tony reached for his helmet, eager to leave.

Leo had saved his life, and Tony had promised to help. Now he felt a little guilty for refusing, even though it wasn’t illegal or immoral.

“Wait, don’t be in such a hurry. Hear me out. I’m offering compensation for your help.”

Leo grabbed the helmet before Tony could.

“Leo, I really can’t do this. Next time you need help, I’ll be there, no charge.”

Leo calmly sat back down and asked:

“Tony, have you been feeling unwell lately?”

“Unwell? Not at all. I’ve been feeling great and even spent time learning some combat techniques. Ms. Potts said I’m in better shape than ever!”

Tony was clearly confused.

Leo shook his head:

“No, you’re poisoned. I noticed something wrong with your body in the desert, and now I’m sure. It’s severe and could be fatal soon.”
