- MWM Chapter 64
At 9:30 PM, Natasha had just finished her shower and was preparing to organize and upload the intel she had gathered about Leo to the S.H.I.E.L.D. system when the doorbell rang.
“Is Mrs. Martha back? No, Mrs. Martha has a key; she wouldn’t need to ring the doorbell.”
With this thought, Natasha quickly threw on a nightgown and went to the door, peering through the peephole.
“It’s the head of the neighborhood security.”
Seeing who it was, Natasha frowned but still opened the door:
“Can I help you?”
“Are you Miss Natalia Shostakova?” Li San asked.
“Yes, that’s me!” Natasha replied with a charming smile.
Li San nodded: “Because you’re a new resident, we need you to come to the security office to register some information. This is for the safety of all residents in the neighborhood.”
“Of course, no problem. Please wait outside for a moment. I just took a shower and need to put on some clothes before stepping out.”
Natasha winked at Li San before closing the door again.
“Exposed. But how did they find out?”
She quickly went to the bedroom, put on her special combat suit, and added two wristband-like devices. Covering herself with a black nightgown, she smiled and walked out.
During the move this afternoon, she had noticed something off about the neighborhood security. Upon investigating, she found out that after Leo moved in, the entire security team was replaced, leading her to deduce that these guards were actually bodyguards.
She also noticed that some of the best vantage points in the neighborhood might have snipers stationed.
The security head’s request for her to register was obviously a lie. Normally, such a task would be handled by a regular guard with a registration form at the door.
It was clear her identity was likely exposed, but she didn’t know what had given her away.
Her cover was meticulously crafted by S.H.I.E.L.D., with no apparent flaws. She had also maintained her composure at Leo’s house, so being discovered was unexpected.
But now wasn’t the time to ponder this. She had to see what their next move would be.
Following the security head down the stairs, they soon reached a secluded corner.
“Sir, this doesn’t seem like the way to the security office,” Natasha said, stopping under a large tree.
If she moved forward, she’d enter the sniper’s range. She was now backed against the building’s corner, with a thick tree on her right and the neighborhood wall not far to her left.
Li San stopped, turned, and pulled a thick rope from his pocket.
“I’m not good at lying, and you must have noticed. Don’t resist, and it will be less painful.”
“What are you doing? Sir, let’s talk this out. You don’t want to spend the rest of your life in prison, do you?” Natasha retreated to the wall, showing genuine fear, playing the role of a distressed woman perfectly.
But Li San was unmoved, stepping closer with the rope:
“I don’t like hitting women. This job is usually done by Xiao Wu, but she’s not here, so forgive me.”
He lunged with the rope, but Natasha’s fearful expression turned cold. Twisting her body like a snake, she easily dodged the rope and kicked at Li San’s groin.
However, Li San anticipated this, blocking her fierce kick with crossed arms, then launched a ferocious counterattack.
“Such skills, she really is Black Widow.”
Leo spread chakra evenly on his feet, standing on the wall of the building, observing the fight below.
Many powerful female superheroes existed in this world, but most relied on magic, mutation, or technology. Few were known for their combat skills.
The woman below, using a mix of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, karate, Aikido, and Muay Thai, could only be Black Widow.
Natasha, fighting Li San, felt anything but calm.
She couldn’t quickly subdue the security head and was being pressured. If not for her flexibility, avoiding direct attacks with defensive maneuvers, she would have been defeated.
As the top spy from the Red Room, trained since childhood and injected with experimental drugs, she rarely met her match in hand-to-hand combat.
Yet, this bodyguard of Leo could overpower her in strength, speed, and technique.
“Leo isn’t just a simple businessman!”
Realizing normal combat wouldn’t work, Natasha resorted to a trick. She suddenly pulled off her nightgown and threw it at Li San’s face, distracting him for a moment. She then released two button-like devices from her wristbands.
“Zzz…”
Electric currents shot from the buttons, causing Li San’s body to convulse violently.
Widow’s Bite, her signature weapon, looked like a wristband but could fire bullets, mini-bombs, tear gas, and high-voltage electric shocks.
“Ah!”
Li San roared, enduring the shocks, and smashed the buttons into pieces with his fists.
Natasha’s mouth twitched. Abandoning the fight, she stuck her hands to the wall behind her and started climbing the building like a gecko.
Her special suit, made from a synthetic elastic fabric, had micro suction cups on her fingers and toes, enabling her to climb walls and ceilings.
The mission was to gather intel on Leo, not kill him. With her cover blown, retreat was the best option.
To avoid snipers, she planned to climb to a blind spot on the building and escape over the neighborhood wall.
Just as she reached the blind spot, a familiar voice sounded from above her.
“Well, isn’t it Miss Natalia? Enjoying some nighttime wall climbing exercise?”
