- MWM Chapter 82
“No more waiting!”
After returning to his office from the laboratory, Leo sat down in his chair and opened the panel with a swift motion.
It had been over a month, a few days longer than he originally planned. Given the current trend, most cancer patients worldwide had already purchased the golden pill, and the influx of funds would soon stabilize and decrease.
Reaching a high completion level would likely take years, unless a new cure for another type of terminal illness could be developed in the meantime. However, compared to cancer, the number of patients with other terminal illnesses was far smaller.
Therefore, he decided to stick to his original plan: enter the new world with an intermediate completion level, quickly enhance his strength, and not chase after the best possible high completion level.
“Enter *Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them*!”
Turning to the new small world page, Leo decisively chose to enter.
After a bout of dizziness, when he opened his eyes again, he found himself in a dense forest. A flood of memories, like a slideshow, immediately filled his mind.
Tom Fawley, born into the Sacred Twenty-Eight, from the Fawley family, twenty-six years old, a graduate of Hufflepuff at Hogwarts, with average grades and mediocre talent, though with a knack for Herbology.
As the last member of the Fawley family, Tom Fawley used the family’s remaining Galleons after graduation to open an herb shop in Diagon Alley, selling various herbs.
On September 1st, after the back-to-school rush at Diagon Alley, Tom Fawley temporarily closed his shop and headed to the Albanian forest to search for rare magical herbs.
On September 15th, in the Albanian forest, he encountered a large three-headed Runespoor and, unfortunately, was decapitated by it.
“This forest seems to be the place where Voldemort practiced dark magic and later hid his soul fragments.”
Looking around at the towering trees nearby, Leo couldn’t help but mutter to himself.
The Albanian forest was a primeval forest located at the border between Albania and Greece, home to numerous magical creatures and rare herbs.
Many wizards liked to travel, gather herbs, and study magical creatures here, even though they knew it was dangerous, and every year, a few unlucky wizards would die here.
“Looks like everything’s still here.”
After checking his body, he found that the suit he had worn before entering had been replaced by wizard robes, with a twelve-inch wand tucked inside and a small pouch hanging from the robe.
From the memories he had just reviewed, he knew that all these items belonged to the unfortunate wizard, Tom Fawley.
Of course, in the eyes of everyone else in this world, he was now Tom Fawley.
“Wingardium Leviosa!”
Drawing out Tom’s wand from his robes, Leo recalled all the scenes from Tom’s memory related to the Levitation Charm and mimicked the spell.
The green leaf he pointed his wand at began to float slowly under the glow of magic, but after just two seconds, it fell back to the ground.
“It seems it will take time to fully master these spells from the memories.”
After experimenting for a moment, Leo realized that although he possessed wizarding blood and had absorbed all of Tom’s memories, it didn’t mean he could instantly master all of Tom’s magic.
It was like watching a cooking video; just because you saw someone cook a dish once doesn’t mean you can make the same dish immediately.
And magic was far more difficult than cooking.
However, there was an advantage: the steps and potential pitfalls of the spell were clearly etched in his mind. With enough practice, he could avoid many mistakes and quickly master it.
“Time to leave this forest and return to London!”
Putting away his wand, Leo infused his feet with chakra, then quickly leaped along the tree trunks towards the edge of the forest.
Tom could Apparate and ride a broomstick, but Leo couldn’t yet use those spells or magical tools, so he had to rely on his ninja skills to travel.
The Albanian forest was home to many dangerous magical creatures, and staying here was not a wise choice.
“What a huge snake!”
However, before he could move far, a large three-headed snake coiled around a tree trunk suddenly attacked him.
It was the same Runespoor that had killed Tom.
Nimbly dodging the ferocious bites from all three of the Runespoor’s heads, Leo sprang back, landing on the trunk of a large tree to put some distance between them.
The giant Runespoor was about seven to eight meters long, thicker than a human’s body, and if it managed to coil around him, things could get ugly.
Seeing its prey about to escape, the Runespoor hissed from all three heads, pausing only briefly before launching itself toward Leo again.
“Fire Style: Fireball Jutsu!”
Fortunately, Leo was experienced. The moment he retreated, he formed the necessary hand signs, and as soon as he landed on the tree trunk, he unleashed a giant fireball at the charging Runespoor.
The massive fireball struck the Runespoor directly, slamming it to the ground.
“As expected of a magical creature, it’s quite resistant to fire!”
Looking at where the Runespoor had fallen, Leo couldn’t help but marvel.
A normal snake of this size hit by his Fireball Jutsu would have been charred, but this Runespoor showed significant resistance to fire, with only minor burns.
However, falling from a height of over ten meters had caused it some injuries.
But these injuries were clearly not enough to kill the Runespoor; they only made it angrier.
All three heads hissed furiously as it slithered back up the tree towards Leo.
“It seems that against such a fire-resistant magical creature, physical attacks might be more effective.”
Undeterred, Leo drew a spear from his task space, infused his body with chakra to enhance his strength, and then charged directly at the Runespoor, leaping from the tree trunk.
“Violent Rain of Pear Flowers!”
Before the Runespoor could get close, the sharp tip of the spear had already transformed into countless cold stars in Leo’s hands, striking at the creature’s eyes, mouth, and vital spots like the seven-inch mark.
Blood spurted out as the massive body of the Runespoor crashed heavily to the ground once more.
But this time, it was no longer lightly injured; its body had been pierced with seven or eight holes, and it was unmistakably dead.
“Tom Fawley, consider your revenge taken.”
Leaving these words behind, Leo was about to leave when he suddenly remembered from Tom’s memories that Runespoor bodies were quite valuable. So he ran down the tree trunk and stored the Runespoor’s corpse in the small pouch hanging from his wizard robes.
