MWM Chapter 91

This entry is part 92 of 599 in the series In Marvel: I Start by Marying Scarlett Witch

Of course, unifying the entire wizarding world wouldn’t be an easy task; it would require careful planning.

The first step he needed to take was to gain a bit of recognition within the wizarding community, for example, by capturing a dark wizard who was wanted by magical authorities across multiple countries and delivering him to prison.

“Is there an Auror here? I’ve caught an evil dark wizard!”

Leo walked confidently toward the front desk of the Ministry of Magic, carrying the unconscious old Manu.

The fact that Tom Fawley, the owner of the herb shop in Diagon Alley, had captured a dark wizard immediately drew the attention of everyone in the atrium. All eyes turned to Leo and the unconscious Manu.

“Oh, Merlin, isn’t that the dark wizard Manu Angel, who’s been on the run for over twenty years?”

“I heard he was wanted by the magical authorities in fifteen countries. Who would’ve thought that Tom Fawley would be the one to catch him?”

“Mr. Fawley is from the Sacred Twenty-Eight family of Fawley, after all. I always knew there was more to him.”

While Manu Angel wasn’t on the same level as Grindelwald or the later Voldemort, he was still a dark wizard who had managed to evade capture by the Ministry of Magic for twenty years, earning him quite a reputation in the wizarding world.

So, when Leo appeared with Manu, some of the older wizards in the atrium quickly recognized him.

The witch at the reception desk quickly scribbled a few words on a piece of parchment and tapped it with her wand, turning it into a paper airplane that flew off toward the magical elevators.

“Please wait a moment, Mr. Theseus will be here shortly.”

Theseus Scamander, currently the Head Auror at the British Ministry of Magic, was also a war hero from the First World War and the elder brother of Newt Scamander.

Leo quickly recalled everything he knew about Theseus Scamander, both from Tom Fawley’s memories and from the movies he had seen in his previous life.

“If Mr. Scamander himself is coming, then I’m relieved!”

Leo pretended to breathe a sigh of relief.

At that moment, a wizard holding a magical camera and a witch with brown hair, both reporters, pushed through the crowd and approached Leo.

“Mr. Fawley, hello. I’m Lilith, a reporter for the *Daily Prophet*. Could you tell us why you were attacked by Manu Angel and how you managed to subdue him?”

“Oh… it all started this morning when I was returning to my family estate. Earlier today…”

Seeing that a reporter was asking questions, Leo calmly recounted the fabricated story he had prepared.

The gist was that he had accidentally stumbled upon old Manu preparing to attack a Muggle, and out of a sense of justice, he intervened. This led to a duel between the two wizards.

Fortunately, he managed to come out on top, disarming Manu with the Expelliarmus spell and winning the fight.

After Leo finished his story, the atrium erupted in thunderous applause.

Most of the wizards didn’t care that Leo had saved a Muggle; they were captivated by his tale of an epic duel between himself and the dark wizard Manu Angel.

The wizarding community tends to admire strength, and the more powerful a wizard is, the more admiration they receive.

Since Tom Fawley was from one of the Sacred Twenty-Eight families, people naturally viewed him in a favorable light. Now, after defeating a well-known dark wizard like Manu Angel in a duel, his reputation was further enhanced.

“Please make way, make way!”

A voice amplified by the Sonorus Charm called out as a handsome wizard in his thirties, flanked by several Aurors holding wands, cleared a path through the crowd and approached Leo.

“Hello, I’m Theseus Scamander. On behalf of the Ministry of Magic, I want to thank you for helping us capture Manu Angel.”

Theseus examined Manu closely and confirmed that he was indeed the wanted dark wizard. He then extended his hand to Leo in gratitude.

Leo handed Manu over to the Aurors, shook Theseus’s hand, and replied politely:

“It’s what any wizard should do. Compared to your contributions during the war, Mr. Scamander, this is nothing!”

Though the First World War was primarily a Muggle conflict, it also affected the wizarding world. Many wizards, especially those with Muggle parents or Muggle-born relatives, secretly aided their countries during the war and fought against enemy wizards.

Theseus Scamander became a well-known war hero due to his magical prowess during those battles.

“Click!”

At the moment when Leo and Theseus shook hands, the *Daily Prophet* reporter snapped a picture.

After Theseus took Manu away, Leo was greeted by Torquil Travers, the head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement, and was awarded a reward of 1,000 Galleons.

The next morning, Bally went to Diagon Alley and brought back the latest edition of the *Daily Prophet*. The most prominent spot on the front page featured a magical photograph of Leo shaking hands with Theseus, accompanied by a bold headline:

**“The Unspoken Story of the Dark Wizard Manu Angel and the Righteous Wizard Tom Fawley—Even War Hero Theseus Scamander Was Impressed!”**

The article recounted the story Leo had fabricated, though the reporter Lilith had embellished it significantly to enhance its impact.

For example, the article included many dramatic inner monologues during the battle, with lines like, “For the justice of the wizarding world, I must stop you, even if it costs me my life!”

“Although it’s a bit exaggerated, it helps establish the image I was aiming for. Overall, not bad.”

Leo put the newspaper away, instructed Bally to take care of the house, and then Apparated back to the Ministry of Magic.

This time, he noticed that he was receiving much more attention, especially from some young witches who looked at him with admiration.

“Good morning, Mr. Fawley. How can I assist you today?”

The receptionist’s eyes lit up when she saw Leo, and her tone was noticeably softer than before.

Leo smiled and replied:

“I’d like to rent a Portkey.”

“Please fill out the registration form here. Oh, Mr. Fawley, are you heading to New York? I’ve heard it’s not very peaceful there lately, so please be careful.”

The receptionist was surprised to see that Leo had written down New York as his destination and kindly warned him.

“I’m visiting a friend there. Since the shop isn’t busy right now, I thought I’d take the opportunity to see him.”

Leo offered a casual explanation, took the stamped registration form, and stepped into the magical elevator.

It was December 2nd. If he remembered correctly, in just a few days, Newt Scamander, the magizoologist, would conclude his year-long journey and head to New York.

This is where I kinda annoyed by CH fanfic, even if it’s a decent or good one the MC always has that megalomaniac tendencies of “Why I not rule everything here…” yada yada… If he just going double agent it’s more interesting than him ruling the world, as most readers know ruling world troupe are hard to get right, and that including this guy. Hopefully author not gone cuckoo too much w this.
