OKSTS Chapter 112

This entry is part 113 of 159 in the series Dimensional Gods' Selection: Only I Know Saitama is the Strongest

**Chapter 112: Fang Ye’s Serious Punch!**

The three-headed monstrous bird noticed Fang Ye had suddenly stopped running.

Its six eyes showed a strangely human-like hint of confusion, as if wondering why this human wasn’t fleeing anymore.

But its intelligence was limited.

Despite sensing that something was off, it couldn’t resist the urge to unleash its fury.

In the next moment, the bird didn’t even pause; it dove straight at Fang Ye.

From a distance, its central head opened its razor-sharp beak, clearly intending to kill Fang Ye with one swift bite.

Seeing this, Fang Ye slightly bent his knees and clenched his fists, preparing his stance.

As soon as the beast got close enough, Fang Ye moved.

“Boom!”

The ground beneath him sank from the force of his step as he launched himself forward like a cannonball, speeding toward the monster.

Fang Ye’s movement was so fast that, to the bird, he was just a blur. In an instant, his fist was right in front of it.

“Crash!”

Fang Ye and the massive bird collided.

One side was a colossal beast weighing several tons, while the other was just a human.

Anyone would think Fang Ye would come out worse from such a clash.

However, the result was anything but expected.

When Fang Ye’s feet touched the ground, a spray of green blood erupted into the air behind him, splattering everywhere. Alongside the blood, chunks of flesh and debris rained down.

The bird’s central head, its largest, was gone, leaving only a severed neck.

With just one punch, Fang Ye had blown off one of its heads.

The two remaining heads of the three-headed bird shrieked in agony, its wings flapping frantically.

The central head was its most vital; if either of the other heads were destroyed, it could still survive. But losing the central head was fatal.

No matter how much it struggled, the beast eventually collapsed to the ground, unmoving.

Fang Ye gazed down at the creature’s body and sighed.

‘If this were the real Saitama, a casual punch would have obliterated this beast completely. Yet I just used almost all my strength and only managed to take off one head… I’m still not strong enough. Time to keep a low profile and train harder,’ he reflected.

As he analyzed his own performance, Fang Ye turned and started walking back toward the highway.

As he walked, another thought crossed his mind.

‘For the creature to have come this far, does it mean the military force at the canyon can’t hold back the beasts anymore? If so, this city isn’t safe. I’ll need to leave as soon as possible.’

“I wonder how Old Yan and the others are doing? I hope they haven’t been wiped out…”

Fang Ye thought quietly. He genuinely hoped Yan Tai would make it back safely. He was a good teacher to Fang Ye, and for now, Fang Ye didn’t feel like finding a replacement.

On the highway, Su Ziqiu was making her way with her classmates. Her face was full of worry.

Although she knew Fang Ye was very powerful, the three-headed beast looked terrifying, and she feared he might not escape it.

“Su Ziqiu!” A voice suddenly called from nearby.

It was Zhao Linger.

“I heard you’re the class president and close to Fang Ye, so you must know him well, right?” Zhao Linger said, her tone cryptic.

Su Ziqiu frowned, “What are you trying to say?”

Ignoring Su Ziqiu’s tone, Zhao Linger continued, “Since you know him well, does Fang Ye have any means of self-preservation? He wouldn’t…”

She trailed off, leaving her question unfinished.

Even Zhao Linger herself didn’t know why she was asking Su Ziqiu about this.

Ever since Fang Ye had stepped forward to face the creature, his image had lingered in her mind. She couldn’t deny it—his courage when facing the beast was incredibly manly.

‘Maybe it’s just his admirable character,’ she thought, trying to explain her own feelings.

“I don’t know either…” Su Ziqiu took a deep breath, her worry evident. “He’s strong, but that creature…”

She chose not to reveal everything about Fang Ye.

Seeing Su Ziqiu’s concern, Zhao Linger decided not to press further and instead tried to reassure her, “I believe fate won’t be unkind to him. Fang Ye is resourceful and skilled; he’ll be okay.”

Su Ziqiu nodded and fell silent as they focused on reaching the city. The high-rises of the urban area were now visible in the distance.

What the two didn’t know was that while they were talking, several figures were lying in ambush on a hill to their left.

One of them, using a sniper rifle scope, observed the group below.

“Boss, I’ve spotted that girl, Su Ziqiu, but no sign of the main target. Should we proceed?” the sniper asked.

The boss, a rugged-looking man in his thirties with an unremarkable face but a prominent scar across his cheek, thought for a moment.

Taking the binoculars, he scanned the highway.

After a while, he lowered the binoculars and, after a moment of reflection, shook his head. “Our main target is the kid, so don’t act recklessly. We don’t want to alert him.”

“And… I think I saw a girl from the Zhao family in that group. If we accidentally hurt her and her sister finds out, we won’t be safe anywhere in the world!”

Hearing this, the other men exchanged nervous glances.

“A Zhao? Which Zhao family?”

“Who else?”

“There are two Zhao families in the capital, and one of them is our employer… but could she be from the other one?”

“Right… let’s not complicate things unnecessarily.”

Clearly, this group had a strong fear of the “Zhao family” the boss mentioned.

The sniper grumbled, “So, Boss, since we don’t see him, are we just going to wait here?”

“Yes,” the boss replied without hesitation. “This is the only way back to the city. If that kid’s still alive, he’ll pass through here.”
