**Chapter 113: The Assassins Shaken to the Core!**

The boss’s guess was correct.

After lying in ambush for about half an hour, a figure appeared at the far end of the road.

“Boss, target spotted!”

The sniper quickly identified Fang Ye, who was approaching from the distance.

The boss immediately raised his binoculars, and sure enough, he saw Fang Ye heading in their direction.

“Move in! Third Brother, take the shot. The rest, prepare to intercept!” the boss commanded. “According to the latest info, this kid has a powerful fire-based ability, so be cautious. Don’t let him escape!”

The team sprang into action, advancing stealthily toward the road, while the sniper stayed put, his scope trained on Fang Ye.

Fang Ye, unaware of the ambush, continued walking briskly along the road, his mind still analyzing the earlier encounter with the three-headed beast.

He hadn’t gone far when he heard a sharp whistling sound.

A bullet suddenly appeared, slicing through the air, reaching him in an instant.

“Hmm?”

Fang Ye hadn’t expected a sniper attack while walking down the road. Lost in thought, he hadn’t sensed the impending danger.

In a split second, Fang Ye twisted his body to shield his vital areas, exposing his broad back while tensing his muscles to brace for impact.

“Thud!”

The bullet struck his back, sending a burst of blood into the air, but Fang Ye let himself fall to the roadside ditch, using the impact to drop out of the sniper’s line of sight.

The sniper rifle’s bullet was powerful, but it wasn’t enough to actually knock Fang Ye down—he had fallen intentionally to avoid further shots.

“Someone’s trying to kill me?” Fang Ye’s eyes narrowed as a cold glint flashed in his gaze.

The bullet had only grazed his skin. With his densely packed muscles and bones, Fang Ye’s body could withstand the shot, and he soon felt the bullet dislodging itself from his back as he flexed his muscles.

If the sniper had seen this, he might’ve had a heart attack.

The weapon he was using, the AWP 115A1 sniper rifle, was known for its immense stopping power—it could pierce steel plates. And yet, against Fang Ye, it barely broke the skin.

In his earpiece, the sniper heard the boss’s voice.

“How’d it go, Third Brother?”

“I hit him,” the sniper replied. “He fell into my blind spot. Even if he’s not dead, he must be severely injured.”

“Good! Let’s move in, Hound and Fox,” the boss said, and the group sprang out from their positions and crept toward where Fang Ye lay hidden. With their skill and coordination, it was clear they were experienced assassins.

Meanwhile, Fang Ye remained motionless in the roadside ditch, assessing the situation.

Given their attempt to assassinate him, Fang Ye knew they wouldn’t leave until they saw his corpse. So he decided to lie in wait.

Just as he expected, it didn’t take long before he heard footsteps approaching. The three men were advancing carefully, though they couldn’t escape Fang Ye’s keen senses.

From his sharp hearing, he could tell exactly where each of them was positioned.

With his mental focus, Fang Ye pinpointed their locations. *Three men, approaching from three directions.* Counting the sniper, that made four in total—a full team.

Who would send an entire squad of assassins after him?

Soon, the three men were close. Just as they prepared to check the ditch and finish him off, Fang Ye sprang into action, moving like a bolt of lightning.

In an instant, he closed the distance, slamming into the central figure with overwhelming force.

From his breathing and heavy footfalls, Fang Ye knew this was the strongest of the three, so he went for him first.

“Thump!”

The sound was strange, almost surreal. Before the other two could even process what was happening, their boss was already dead—his head crushed into his chest from a single strike, his body dropping lifelessly to the ground.

“Boss!” Hound and Fox shouted in shock.

But their training took over, and after a moment’s hesitation, they sprang into action.

Hound lunged forward, his fist wrapped in sharp claws meant to rip and tear.

If an ordinary person had taken this hit, their bones would shatter, and their organs would rupture.

But Fang Ye didn’t flinch. He threw a punch of his own, smashing through Hound’s fist and sending him flying. The impact left his body shattered, intestines spilling out—a gruesome scene.

“Thud!”

Another bullet struck Fang Ye in the back. Fox had fired his gun, but Fang Ye seemed unfazed. He turned calmly and advanced toward Fox.

Fox, who had witnessed his comrades’ deaths, was horrified. Seeing Fang Ye’s murderous gaze directed at him, he was paralyzed with fear.

He turned and ran, shouting, “Third Brother, cover me!”

From the hillside, gunshots rang out as the sniper opened fire, but now Fang Ye was ready. He moved effortlessly, dodging the bullets as they ricocheted off the ground.

Fox kept running, panicked. “The intel was wrong! He’s not just a rookie—he’s at least A-ranked… ack…”

Fox suddenly stumbled. He looked down to see a hand protruding through his chest, coated in his own blood. His vision darkened as he fell.

Back on the hillside, the sniper—Third Brother—watched the scene unfold in terror. He didn’t need to see anything more. He immediately turned and ran, abandoning his rifle.

Scrambling down to his getaway car, he jumped in, slammed on the gas, and sped away, barely daring to look back.

Only after the car had picked up speed did he start to breathe easier.

“Damn it, Wang Liang… you and your bad intel. I’ll make sure to settle this with you later.”

As he cursed, he thought about how his team had been decimated. If he made it back alive, he’d still have to face his organization.

But as he contemplated a life in hiding, he caught sight of something in his rearview mirror—a figure running at high speed, closing in on his car.

It was that terrifying man!

Even though his speedometer showed over 100 km/h, the figure was somehow catching up to him.

“What kind of monster is he?”
