**Chapter 119: The Alien Spaceship, Full of Monsters!**
Dan Forester didn’t manage to gather many helpers—just two, in fact.
One was a woman from the future, who had traveled back in time to help. She worked with Dan to duplicate enough of the toxin capable of killing the Whitespikes, and she also brought plenty of weaponry and explosives.
The other helper was Dan’s father, a former pilot who owned an old transport plane. This plane would take them to the Arctic region, and Dan’s father also had detection equipment that could locate things under the ice.
Initially, Dan considered rounding up a few more of his fellow veterans who had fought in the future, but Fang Ye stopped him. “It’s a waste of time,” Fang Ye said. “Why bring so many people?”
Fang Ye’s goal was simply to find the nest of Whitespikes. These creatures were his prey, and he didn’t want or need too many people involved.
Despite his insistence on a smaller group, they still ended up delaying their departure by another day.
In a remote area outside Macon City, the old transport plane roared to life and lifted off, heading north.
Fang Ye sat in the cabin, feeling the steady gaze of the woman from the future across from him.
“Do I have something on my face?” Fang Ye asked.
The woman turned to Dan instead. “Only four of us for this mission? Isn’t that too few?”
Dan scratched his head. “It was Fang’s call. He insisted we didn’t need a big team.”
“Why?” she demanded, looking at Fang Ye with suspicion.
Fang Ye shrugged. “Once we locate the Whitespikes, you’ll understand.” He then closed his eyes and leaned back to rest. With over ten hours of flight time to the Arctic, he figured some sleep would pass the time.
The woman frowned, feeling uneasy about Fang Ye. Her intuition told her that this plan wasn’t as simple as it seemed. She quietly asked Dan, “Where did you find this guy?”
Dan replied, “He came to me with this whole plan.”
When they finally landed on the edge of the Arctic glacier, it was already early morning. They had four days left to complete the mission.
“We’ll have to rely on these from here on out,” Dan’s father said, pointing to four snowmobiles.
Dan hesitated, as though he wanted to say something to his father but couldn’t bring himself to speak. Fang Ye knew that in the original story, Dan and his father had a strained relationship. Seeing his father looking worn out, Dan wanted to ask him to stay behind, but pride kept him silent.
Fang Ye took the initiative. “You should stay here, sir. We need someone to watch our back.”
“What, you think I’m too old?” Dan’s father scoffed. “Young man, I may be older, but I’m still a soldier!”
Fang Ye shrugged, dropping the subject. If the old man was so insistent, it wasn’t Fang Ye’s responsibility to stop him.
With his father’s insistence settled, Dan, the future woman, Fang Ye, and the old man rode their snowmobiles into the endless expanse of snow, carrying detection equipment and explosives in search of the alien spaceship.
Blizzards swirled around them, reducing visibility and creating a foggy haze that obscured their path. Yet with their advanced gear, they managed to navigate through the harsh conditions.
Fang Ye stayed close behind Dan Forester, knowing that Dan’s “luck” would undoubtedly lead them to the spaceship.
Sure enough, by noon, things began to change.
The detectors on their snowmobiles started glitching, the signals turning erratic.
Fang Ye smiled, realizing they were close.
Dan raised a hand to signal everyone to stop and lifted his detector. “Is everyone else’s equipment acting up too?”
“Yes,” confirmed Dan’s father and the woman from the future.
Dan nodded. “We’re close. Let’s search the area carefully.”
Everyone dismounted and began to explore the surroundings.
Before long, Dan called out, “Over here!”
The group hurried over and found themselves standing before a massive pit in the ice, a sight that was definitely unusual in this area. The magnetic readings were also off the charts, indicating something powerful beneath the ice.
“This has to be it!” Dan’s father said, his face serious.
Without further delay, Dan announced, “Let’s get the explosives ready.”
The pit was covered in layers of ice and snow, which would need to be blasted open to allow them entry.
After placing the charges, the team moved back to a safe distance.
“Boom!”
The explosion echoed through the area as a deep chasm opened up before them, leading into a cavernous void below.
Weapons in hand, the group descended into the depths of the cave.
After several minutes, they reached the end of the passage—and there it was, an enormous, alien spaceship with an intricate, otherworldly design.
Dan, the future woman, and his father were awestruck.
Only Fang Ye remained calm, already knowing what they’d find.
“That’s their ship,” Dan said, feeling both angry and invigorated as he thought of his lost daughter. “We’re right!”
“What do we do next?” the woman asked. “That ship’s enormous, and there are likely hundreds of Whitespikes inside. We could easily get killed.”
Dan took a deep breath, calming himself as he prepared to place the remaining explosives. Just then, Fang Ye interrupted him.
“Your part of the mission is done,” Fang Ye said calmly. “Leave the monsters to me.”
