This entry is part 123 of 245 in the series Dimensional Gods' Selection: Only I Know Saitama is the Strongest

**Chapter 122: Forbidden Zone Mutation! The Consequences of Changing the World’s Fate**

**Year 2050.**

Zhao Ling’er, Su Ziqiu, and others were trapped inside a high-rise building.

Outside the building, countless white-spiked creatures surrounded them.

Their situation was dire.

Zhao Ling’er’s pale face revealed her exhaustion.

Su Ziqiu’s left arm was wrapped in a blood-stained bandage, indicating a significant injury.

The others didn’t look much better.

“We’re completely surrounded by the white-spiked creatures!”

A student from Beijing University muttered under his breath. “Once they break in, if we don’t surrender, it’ll be the end of us.”

Hearing this, silence fell over the group.

“Boom!”

The iron door shook violently as countless white-spiked creatures rammed against it.

Each impact sent shivers down everyone’s spine.

One male student, unable to endure the tension of waiting for death, exclaimed, “I quit! If you want to hold on, be my guest!”

As soon as he spoke, he disappeared on the spot, having forfeited the mission.

He returned to the real world.

Of course, all his mission progress was reset to zero.

In other words, his trip to the Forbidden Zone had been for nothing.

Seeing the student vanish, others looked at each other uneasily, some tempted to do the same.

If they didn’t give up now…

Once the creatures broke through, it would be too late.

Sensing the wavering resolve, Zhao Ling’er’s face hardened with determination. She seemed to reach a decision.

Just then.

A system notification suddenly echoed in everyone’s mind: “Attention! The fate of this world has been altered. You will be teleported in five minutes!”

Everyone froze.

“Did I just hear the Forbidden Zone’s system prompt?”

“I heard it too. It said the fate of the world has changed, and we’ll be teleported in five minutes.”

“How could the fate of this world suddenly change? The instructor never mentioned this!”

“Yeah, this is so strange…”

The trapped group began discussing the unexpected development.

Zhao Ling’er and Su Ziqiu exchanged knowing glances. They saw the answer in each other’s eyes.

The one who had changed the fate of the world…

It had to be Fang Ye!

Only Fang Ye had the opportunity and strength to do it.

Zhao Ling’er stood up abruptly and declared, “Everyone, listen to me! You’ve all heard the system prompt just now. If we hold out for five more minutes, we’ll return to the real world safely, and our progress over the past few days won’t be wiped out!”

Hearing this, everyone’s eyes lit up.

That’s right!

The Forbidden Zone’s prompt clearly stated they’d be teleported in five minutes.

This meant they wouldn’t be penalized for abandoning the mission.

Their mission progress would likely be preserved.

“This place won’t hold. Let’s head upstairs!” Su Ziqiu suggested.

The group quickly agreed.

They all rushed upstairs.

Under normal circumstances, running upstairs while surrounded by white-spiked creatures would have been a dead end—a brief postponement of their doom.

But now, all they needed was to last five minutes!

One minute passed.

The creatures broke through the door and swarmed into the building, forcing the group to retreat upstairs.

Two minutes passed.

The relentless creatures gave chase, pushing the group to fight as they fled.

Three minutes passed.

The creatures drew closer, forcing the group to fall back even further.

Four minutes passed.

The group was cornered on the rooftop of the high-rise, with nowhere left to run.

The white-spiked creatures had reached the rooftop entrance, mere steps away from slaughtering them all.

And then…

Five minutes were up.

In an instant.

The surroundings began to shift dramatically.

The terrifying white-spiked creatures disintegrated into ash, vanishing without a trace.

The ruined skyscrapers around them rapidly restored themselves.

Crowds of people appeared on the streets below.

They were shopping, working—going about their lives as if nothing had happened.

What had just been a post-apocalyptic wasteland transformed, within mere moments, back into a bustling, peaceful city.

It was as if the white-spiked creatures had never existed.

As if the catastrophe had never occurred.

Everyone stared in awe at the miraculous scene unfolding before them.

Then.

One by one, those who didn’t belong to this world began to disappear.

Meanwhile.

Fang Ye stood in a pure white extradimensional space, receiving his rewards from the Forbidden Zone.

“Congratulations! Your performance in this Forbidden Zone was outstanding. You eliminated all white-spiked creatures ahead of schedule and altered the fate of the world…”

“You have received the highest mission evaluation!”

“You saved this world. The Forbidden Zone entrance will now disappear…”

“You have gained 150 freely distributable attribute points!”

“You have been granted an additional reward for saving the world: *Crisis Sense!*”

A series of notifications rang out.

Fang Ye stood momentarily stunned.

Especially at the final notification—he had gained a new ability.

Moments later.

A flash of red light illuminated his mind, filling it with knowledge about his new ability.

**Crisis Sense!**

As the name suggested, it was the ability to sense danger before it occurred.

Had Fang Ye possessed this ability earlier, he wouldn’t have been ambushed and shot a few days ago.

When targeted by a sniper, Fang Ye would have sensed the imminent threat!

Absorbing this new knowledge, Fang Ye’s eyes lit up.

This ability was excellent.

It suited him perfectly.

Although Fang Ye wasn’t yet invincible, Crisis Sense would help him avoid many dangers.

Once he reached a power level comparable to Saitama…

Crisis Sense would likely become unnecessary.

Next.

Fang Ye allocated the 150 attribute points entirely to his **Mental Attribute**.

This updated his status panel to:

**Name:** Fang Ye

**Race:** Human

**Constitution:** 833

**Mental:** 595

**Strength:** 831

**Agility:** 779

**Bloodline:** Saitama Constitution (Awakened)

**Special Ability:** Inferno

**Skill:** Demonic Descent (Upgradeable)

**Passive Ability:** Crisis Sense

Fang Ye’s constitution, strength, and agility continued to grow constantly.

His daily training routine, which he never skipped, ensured his progress.

While his mental attribute grew slower, the Forbidden Zone rewards compensated for this shortfall.

With his current attributes, Fang Ye was undoubtedly a top-tier powerhouse!

Among new recruits, calling him the best wasn’t just flattery—it was an understatement.

Such stats meant even if all the other recruits united against him, Fang Ye could defeat them effortlessly.

“Extra rewards for saving the world? Then shouldn’t I have received an extra reward for releasing the T-virus serum in Forbidden Zone #2, *Resident Evil*? That was also saving the world!” Fang Ye mused.

“Could my Inferno ability be the extra reward from that mission?”

His guess was spot on.

Had Fang Ye not excelled and achieved the highest mission evaluation, he wouldn’t have gained the Inferno ability.
