**Chapter 149: The Destruction of Marine Headquarters**

Akainu unleashed a devastating punch, magma erupting fiercely as it aimed straight for Fang Ye’s head.

But Akainu underestimated Fang Ye. His danger sense, akin to Observation Haki but significantly more advanced, was an almost cheat-like ability. It acted as a passive skill, lacking the range and limitations of traditional Observation Haki, capable of detecting any incoming threat.

Effortlessly, Fang Ye evaded Akainu’s ambush, his expression turning cold and resolute.

“You just won’t quit, will you?”

Fang Ye glared at Akainu, preparing to engage him once more.

Still, Fang Ye wasn’t confident in defeating Akainu outright. At the same time, he remained wary of a looming threat—those aligned with the Navy might stop at nothing to strike back now that Ace had been freed.

The situation wasn’t as optimistic as it seemed.

Suddenly, a massive figure loomed behind Akainu, prompting Fang Ye to pause.

A swift and sharp blade’s glint flashed, and the unsuspecting Akainu found himself shrouded in a colossal shadow.

Alarm bells went off in Akainu’s head, an overwhelming sense of dread washing over him.

**Boom!**

A loud explosion erupted behind Akainu, and he turned to see the enraged gaze of Whitebeard, his enormous fist already mid-swing.

“What—”

**BOOM!**

Whitebeard’s fist, empowered by the Tremor-Tremor Fruit, smashed Akainu straight into the ground.

“Damn it…!”

Blood streaming down his face, Akainu struggled to his feet, only to see Whitebeard leap high into the air, his foot glowing with the tremor’s destructive energy.

“This is bad!”

Akainu rolled desperately to the side, narrowly avoiding the devastating stomp.

“Hah!”

Whitebeard followed up, swinging his massive blade with immense force.

Akainu dodged once more, countering with a barrage of magma projectiles.

Whitebeard deflected most with his blade, but the last hit burned away half his iconic beard.

“Damn you!”

Akainu roared and lashed out with a kick, only for Whitebeard to counter with a punch that sent him flying, tumbling across the ground.

Whitebeard closed in, ready to deliver a killing blow.

**BOOM!**

Akainu’s body suddenly exploded, his magma form scattering across the battlefield and obscuring Whitebeard’s vision with thick smoke.

“Hellhound!”

Using the cover of smoke, Akainu reassembled himself and launched a searing punch straight at Whitebeard.

“Watch out!”

Fang Ye noticed the danger and raced over. In the original timeline, this very attack had fatally injured Whitebeard, burning through his organs and leaving him gravely wounded.

Approaching from the side, Fang Ye landed a decisive kick on Akainu, throwing him off balance.

**Boom!**

Though Akainu’s Hellhound singed Whitebeard’s chest, it only scorched the surface, sparing him the fatal injury.

“You brat… Didn’t I tell you to leave?”

Whitebeard glared at Fang Ye, frustration etched on his face.

Fang Ye shook his head resolutely. “How can I run while you’re still here fighting, Father?”

“Get out of here—head back to the ship!”

Whitebeard glanced at Kizaru and Aokiji in the distance, swinging his blade in preparation. He knew Fang Ye couldn’t intervene in this level of battle.

“Father!!!”

Shouts rang out as a large group of Whitebeard Pirates rushed forward. Having seen Whitebeard nearly killed, they were terrified.

“Father, we’re not afraid to die!”

“Let us help you wipe out these Marines!”

“If something happens to Father, I won’t live on!”

“Even if you order us to leave, we won’t go!”

Whitebeard looked at them, his expression alternating between anger and exasperation.

Finally, he let out a hearty laugh and shouted: “My sons, if you’re not afraid of death, follow me!”

Swinging his massive blade, Whitebeard charged forward.

“Charge!”

“Kill!”

“Wipe out the Marines!”

The entirety of the Whitebeard Pirates rejoined the battle, weapons in hand, clashing fiercely with the Marines.

Even the ship’s cooks, armed with kitchen knives, rushed into the fray.

“These pirates… How do they still have so much fight left in them?”

Aokiji muttered, watching the chaotic battlefield with a sigh.

“If my sons are all in the fight, as their father, I must lead by example!”

Whitebeard stepped forward, his very presence causing the earth to quake.

“Father, focus on Akainu first!”

Fang Ye shouted, charging toward the recovering Akainu.

“Damn you, brats!”

Akainu snarled, his entire body turning to molten magma as he lunged at Fang Ye.

Whitebeard spared a glance at Fang Ye, silently admiring his courage, before charging at Akainu himself.

Swinging his massive blade, Whitebeard slashed at Akainu, forcing the admiral to repeatedly dodge and roll through the dust.

“Hold on, Akainu~”

Kizaru’s mocking tone rang out as he fired golden beams, attempting to cover Akainu.

“Don’t worry, Father—I’ll handle him!”

Fang Ye intercepted the beams with a powerful punch.

**Boom!**

The golden projectiles exploded against Fang Ye’s attack, neutralized entirely.

“Well done!”

Whitebeard praised, his terrifying attacks forcing Akainu into a corner.

“Argh!”

Whitebeard’s massive fist, infused with the tremor’s power, smashed into Akainu.

“Ugh!”

Akainu spat blood, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“I can’t believe I’ve been pushed to this point by a group of pirates!”

Rallying his strength, Akainu countered with another Hellhound.

Whitebeard, fully prepared, clashed with him head-on.

**Boom!**

The collision shattered the ground beneath them. The remnants of Marineford were left in ruins.

Amid the shockwaves, the already crumbling Marine Headquarters sustained further damage, the entire structure collapsing entirely with no hope of reconstruction.

“Ugh!”

Akainu, drained and bleeding profusely, was sent flying into the rubble, finally losing consciousness.

“Die!”

Breathing heavily, Whitebeard raised his blade and brought it down toward Akainu.

“Akainu!”

Aokiji shouted, rushing to aid his fellow admiral. Though the two often clashed, the war against the pirates demanded unity.

“Losing focus mid-battle? That’s not something a Fleet Admiral should do!”

Ace smirked, his hand engulfed in roaring flames.

“Mirror Flame!”

A massive wall of fire erupted, surging toward Aokiji.

“Ice Pheasant Beak!”

A giant ice bird formed to counter the flames. Steam billowed as the two attacks collided, filling the battlefield.

As the steam cleared, Aokiji’s face paled.

Standing atop the ruins, Whitebeard raised his massive blade, its terrifying power ready to strike.

**…To be continued.**
