Chapter 165: Fang Ye Takes Charge, Jiraiya Completes Sage Mode!

“Watch out!”

Noticing the threat approaching Jiraiya from behind, Fang Ye called out decisively.

“What?!”

Jiraiya turned just in time to see the ferocious, gaping maw of a summoned beast lunging toward him. He prepared to abandon his Sage Mode preparations, ready to counter the attack.

“I’ll handle it,” Fang Ye said calmly from behind him, stepping forward without hesitation.

Jiraiya glanced at Fang Ye’s back, nodded, and resumed focusing his chakra, clasping his hands together.

“Hah!”

With a loud shout, Fang Ye activated Armament Haki. His arms turned pitch black under his clothes, radiating an aura of immense power.

With a mighty leap, he ascended into the air, his hands transforming into massive palms. He brought them down directly on the head of the eight-span bird (Yatagarasu).

Boom!

The Yatagarasu, intelligent enough to sense danger, attempted to slow its flight. Fang Ye’s strike landed squarely on its razor-sharp beak, covered in spines as tough as steel.

“He must’ve pierced his palms. Let’s see how he uses taijutsu now,” the Animal Path sneered, already picturing Fang Ye’s hands dripping with blood.

But in the next moment, a cracking sound rang out.

Crack!

The Yatagarasu’s beak shattered, splintering under Fang Ye’s strike. The beast let out a piercing scream, writhing in agony as Fang Ye gripped its beak tightly, preventing it from escaping.

Using his core strength, Fang Ye flipped and straddled the bird’s back.

Boom!

One punch landed on the Yatagarasu’s back, creating a massive crater. The creature screeched again, its pain echoing in the air.

“Let’s finish this!”

Without giving the beast time to recover, Fang Ye delivered another devastating blow.

Boom!

The Yatagarasu’s body exploded under the impact, leaving Fang Ye falling toward the ground amidst the wreckage.

“Watch out!” Jiraiya yelled just as Fang Ye landed.

Heavy footsteps rumbled behind him, signaling the approach of a new foe. Fang Ye turned to see a massive bull charging at him.

“Moo!”

The colossal beast roared as it rammed into Fang Ye with unstoppable force.

Crash!

Fang Ye was sent flying, smashing through three walls before coming to a halt.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The bull stopped after breaking through the third wall, seemingly satisfied with its attack.

“That should’ve crushed him into pulp,” the Animal Path muttered, watching intently. His expression quickly turned to shock.

“What?!”

From the rubble, Fang Ye emerged, standing tall and unscathed. The bull, in contrast, had blood streaming down its battered forehead. Its horns were cracked and on the verge of shattering.

“Is that all?” Fang Ye said flatly. He delivered a powerful kick.

Boom!

The bull’s body was left in shambles from the impact. Fang Ye followed with a punch to its head, nearly cleaving it in half. Blood and brain matter gushed out, painting a gruesome picture.

“Amazing… When did Konoha gain such a powerful Jonin?” Jiraiya muttered to himself as he continued focusing his chakra. He couldn’t help but marvel at Fang Ye’s display of raw strength.

After a moment of silent calculation, Jiraiya realized: few in Konoha could match this young man in combat. Among the newer generation, perhaps only Naruto, once fully trained in Sage Mode, could stand a chance.

Fang Ye dusted off bits of flesh from his body and stepped out of the rubble.

“Got any more summons? Bring them all out,” Fang Ye said, his calm gaze meeting the Animal Path’s Rinnegan.

“You’ve been full of surprises,” the Animal Path admitted, emotionless as he watched Fang Ye dismantle three of his summons in succession.

He formed a hand seal, releasing the chameleon that Jiraiya had restrained. With another puff of smoke, he re-summoned it and retreated into its belly.

“This guy…” Fang Ye muttered, a mix of annoyance and disbelief crossing his face. “Is he really this afraid of dying?”

The Animal Path’s efforts to remain hidden were futile. Fang Ye quietly activated Observation Haki.

In an instant, his senses sharpened exponentially. The world around him seemed to unfold, every detail laid bare. Even blind spots were clear, and he could perceive the emotions of those nearby.

Jiraiya, who was building up chakra, radiated urgency, as if his mind screamed: Faster. Faster!

Fang Ye also pinpointed the Animal Path’s location with ease.

“There you are!”

With a burst of speed, Fang Ye darted toward a corner of the alley.

“Substitution Jutsu!”

Having witnessed Fang Ye’s destructive power, the Animal Path wasted no time executing a substitution jutsu. A wooden log replaced his body as he retreated to a safer distance.

Boom!

Fang Ye’s fist obliterated the log, reducing it to splinters. Even though he held back, the wall behind the log cracked, leaving a deep crater.

Hiss…

From his vantage point, the Animal Path watched the aftermath, beads of sweat forming as he observed Fang Ye’s punch’s sheer power.

Looking down, his expression grew grim.

At the same time, voices emanated from a nearby corner.

“Jiraiya, why do you always summon us to such chaotic places?” a male and female voice complained.

“I didn’t have much choice this time,” Jiraiya replied, stepping into view. His wooden clogs clacked against the floor, echoing in the tense silence. “After all, the enemy has the Rinnegan.”

“The Six Paths of the Rinnegan?” The female toad on Jiraiya’s left shoulder was startled. “It actually exists?”

The male toad on his right shoulder shared the same astonishment.

“Yes,” Jiraiya confirmed, stepping forward. His presence captured the attention of everyone present.

The markings on his face deepened, his pupils flattened, and his eyes radiated an intense focus.

“What kind of power is this?” the Animal Path murmured, taken aback. He had never encountered such energy before.

Fang Ye, however, remained calm. He had seen Jiraiya in Sage Mode before.

The toads on Jiraiya’s shoulders stared intently at the Animal Path, their gazes locking onto his Rinnegan.

“It really is the Rinnegan…” the female toad, Shima, said as she began forming hand seals. Her companion, Fukasaku, glared at the Animal Path with mounting excitement.

“This is going to be interesting!”
