Chapter 182: A Chance Encounter with Su Ziqiu

“Ziqiu, what are you doing here?”
With a fond smile on his face, Fang Ye slightly lowered his head to look at Su Ziqiu. He smiled at her, but Su Ziqiu sighed, her face slightly troubled.
“What else can I do? It’s all because of the Forbidden Zone business.”

“The Forbidden Zone? What happened?” Fang Ye asked, his voice tinged with concern as he scanned her body to see if she was injured.

“I’m fine,” Su Ziqiu replied. “I just came back from the No. 5 Forbidden Zone recently. A few days ago, I asked Professor Zhou for information on the No. 6 Forbidden Zone. But the difficulty of the No. 6 Forbidden Zone… it’s… hard to explain.”

Seeing Su Ziqiu looking so glum, as if she had just eaten bitter melon, Fang Ye smiled and pinched her cheek playfully. “What’s wrong with the No. 6 Forbidden Zone? Is it really that difficult?”

“Really difficult?” Su Ziqiu widened her eyes. But then, recalling Fang Ye’s earlier performance in the Forbidden Zones, she quickly wiped the surprised look from her face and asked curiously, “Have you already passed the No. 6 Forbidden Zone?”

Shaking his head, Fang Ye replied honestly, “Not yet.”

Su Ziqiu breathed a sigh of relief and rolled her eyes playfully.

“You scared me! I thought you’d already cleared the No. 6 Forbidden Zone!” Then she looked at Fang Ye with a pitiful expression. “If you had cleared it, I would have been left behind again… I’d be even more unworthy of you!”

“What are you talking about?”

Fang Ye glared at her and pinched her cheek again. “Stop joking, don’t take it so seriously.”

Su Ziqiu smiled mischievously, then her face fell again, looking downhearted. “I think I might have to give up on the No. 6 Forbidden Zone.”

“Why?”

Su Ziqiu pointed at the thick stack of materials Fang Ye was holding and shrugged. “A few days ago, I finished reading all the information, and… the No. 6 Forbidden Zone is basically a world of monsters!”

Fang Ye looked at her, puzzled.

“A world of monsters? Why do you say that?”

“You’ll understand when you see it,” Su Ziqiu said. “This world isn’t just humans. There are gods, angels, and beings like that. And the humans at the very bottom, their combat abilities are on par with those of us who’ve cleared five Forbidden Zones—some are even stronger. Not to mention the gods…”

“That absurd? Does the No. 6 Forbidden Zone really have to fight against gods, angels, and those kinds of beings?”

“You’re thinking too much,” Su Ziqiu waved her hand dismissively. “The enemies are human, but they are the strongest beings from different universes. Some of them are even as strong as the gods!”

Fang Ye nodded, his expression growing more serious.

Although someone like Su Ziqiu, with her strength, would be no match for him, “god” level beings were never something to take lightly.

Of course, someone like Nagato, who proclaimed himself a “god,” was an exception.

For example, in the Naruto world, the true gods, the Otsutsuki clan, might appear in the Forbidden Zone.

Even Fang Ye would have no choice but to run in such a scenario.

“Alright, enough about that. This is just my basic understanding. If I’m right, Professor Zhou will explain the No. 6 Forbidden Zone to you in detail.”

Su Ziqiu looked at Fang Ye with a mysterious smile.

“How do you know?”

“Of course I do. You, Fang Ye, are the number one figure in our academy! You’ve raised the academy’s status with your own efforts. How could the school not value you?”

“And Professor Zhou is someone who appreciates talent. He’ll definitely give you special treatment.”

Fang Ye was taken aback, surprised that Su Ziqiu, this young girl, had such sharp intuition. She had guessed all of this.

However, when it came to his girlfriend, Fang Ye wasn’t planning to hide anything.

“Your guess is pretty accurate. Professor Zhou asked me to come tomorrow. Want to join me?”

Fang Ye invited seriously, but to his surprise, Su Ziqiu shook her head.

“I’ve already decided not to enter the No. 6 Forbidden Zone. With my strength, I’d just be cannon fodder if I went in. But you…?”

Su Ziqiu paused for a moment, then said with determination, “I believe you’re not the reckless type. Whether you enter or not, you have your reasons. But I only ask one thing of you.”

Looking at her as she raised a finger seriously, Fang Ye smiled and asked, “What is it?”

“Promise me you’ll come back safely.”

Fang Ye was momentarily stunned, and then a warm sensation spread through his chest.

This long-awaited feeling of being cared for made him feel deeply moved.

He nodded seriously, looking into Su Ziqiu’s eyes with a firm gaze. “I will.”

“That’s good.”

Hearing his confirmation, Su Ziqiu’s anxious expression softened into a smile.

She skipped ahead, with Fang Ye leisurely walking beside her.

The two of them walked for a long time, and by the time they reached the outskirts of town, the sky was beginning to darken.

“It’s getting late. I need to head home.”

“Let me walk you back,” Fang Ye offered, holding out his hand.

“No need, I can go home on my own,” Su Ziqiu said with a grin. “Don’t worry about me.”

Su Ziqiu giggled, “Even if I did run into a bad guy, I’m sure I could handle him myself!”

As she spoke, she squeezed her delicate arm, trying to flex some muscle as if to prove her strength.

But compared to Fang Ye’s well-toned physique, Su Ziqiu’s little flex only made her look even more adorable.

“Alright, that’s enough. I’ll be fine on my own,” Su Ziqiu waved her hand.

“Okay then.”

Fang Ye waved back, not insisting any further.

“Wait, there’s one more thing.”

Su Ziqiu took a few steps before turning around.

Fang Ye looked at her curiously. “What’s up?”

Without saying anything, Su Ziqiu waved at Fang Ye, signaling him to bend down.

“Hmm?”

Although he wasn’t sure what Su Ziqiu was up to, Fang Ye bent down slightly.

He leaned his ear toward her, letting her speak quietly.

(What could it be?)

Chu!

Instead of words, Fang Ye felt a soft sensation on his cheek.

Before he could react, Su Ziqiu had already skipped off.

Watching her walk away, Fang Ye touched the spot where she had kissed him, a satisfied smile on his face as he headed home.

When he got home, the image of that moment kept replaying in his mind.

“This little girl…”

Fang Ye smiled and shook his head, vowing to get back at her the next time.

Although his physical condition had greatly recovered after coming out of the alternate space, during his battle with Pain, his mind had been in an extremely focused state.

Even now, his mind hadn’t fully recovered and was still in a state of fatigue.

As soon as his head hit the pillow, Fang Ye fell into a deep, exhausted sleep.
