OKSTS Chapter 23

**Chapter 23: The Boss Who Loves to Show Off!**

“Roar!”

A terrifying roar echoed from deep within the hive.

Upon hearing the sound, Alice and Carlos’s expressions immediately changed.

Fang Ye spread his hands and said, “Looks like I was right!”

Alice gritted her teeth, her face filled with resolve.

“No matter what conspiracy Umbrella Corporation is plotting, I will destroy them!”

Fang Ye smiled and replied, “I share the same sentiment!”

Though Carlos felt a tinge of fear, he couldn’t say much.

The three of them continued forward.

They passed through a long corridor and entered a spacious room.

The room was pitch black, making it impossible to see the surroundings.

Alice’s instincts told her that something terrifying was lurking in the corners of the room…

“Be careful, everyone. I sense danger here,” Alice warned.

Carlos immediately turned on his flashlight, scanning the area.

As the beam of light swept over a corner—

Suddenly.

A red shadow flashed by.

“Roar!”

With a roar, a grotesque monster charged out from the darkness.

The creature moved on all fours, its spine trailing a long tail. Its body was entirely red, covered in raw flesh, resembling a giant, skinned lizard.

It looked a lot like a Licker!

But this one was even more massive and terrifying.

Upon seeing the creature, Alice’s face changed.

“Be careful, it’s a mutated Licker!”

As soon as the words left her mouth, she drew her gun and fired.

Carlos also joined in, firing his weapon.

“Bang! Bang! Bang!”

For a moment, the entire room was filled with the sound of gunfire.

Both of them had excellent aim, and the mutated Licker was quickly overwhelmed by the barrage of bullets, soon covered in wounds.

But just then—

Another mutated Licker suddenly burst out from the darkness, lunging straight at Alice.

Alice’s face paled.

She hadn’t expected a second Licker to be in the room.

In that instant, there was no time for her to dodge.

At the critical moment, Fang Ye finally made his move!!

In the blink of an eye, he flashed forward like a ghost, appearing right next to the mutated Licker.

A flash of his blade!

“Slash!”

The mutated Licker was sliced in half by Fang Ye.

The enormous upper half of its body slid to a stop at Alice’s feet, leaving a bloody trail on the ground.

“Alice, are you alright?” Carlos asked with concern.

Without turning around, Alice replied that she was fine, her gaze fixed on Fang Ye.

She hadn’t even seen Fang Ye’s attack clearly just now.

It was worth noting that she, too, had been infected with the T-virus, though she hadn’t mutated and could be considered a kind of superhuman.

Both her strength and reflexes were far beyond those of an ordinary person.

The fact that she couldn’t see his movements clearly spoke volumes about Fang Ye’s prowess.

“It seems you’ve been hiding a lot from us,” Alice said slowly.

Fang Ye frowned, scanning the surroundings.

He could sense that more monsters were lurking in the darkness, waiting for the right moment to strike.

“Now’s not the time for this. There are still mutated Lickers around!”

Hearing this, Alice’s face tensed, and she didn’t dare to be careless.

“We need to get out of here!” Alice urged anxiously. “That door should lead to the elevator to the basement!”

“Let’s move!” Fang Ye commanded.

The three of them immediately rushed forward.

For some unknown reason, the other mutated Lickers in the room didn’t attack. They simply watched as the trio left, as if they had developed a certain level of intelligence, knowing these three were not to be trifled with.

After crossing the room, the three entered an elevator. It quickly descended, finally reaching the lowest level—the core of the hive.

“Ding!”

The elevator doors opened.

What greeted them was an incredibly luxurious house.

The walls of the house were decorated with holographic projections of serene fields, so realistic that one could easily mistake them for the real thing.

It felt as though the sky, with its blue expanse and white clouds, was just outside the windows!

If not for the elevator behind them, one might think they were above ground instead of deep underground.

In the center of the house was an expensive-looking leather sofa.

A well-dressed man sat leisurely on the sofa, sipping red wine.

He was none other than the true leader of Umbrella Corporation—Dr. Isaacs!

Standing behind him was Wesker.

Seeing the two of them, Alice’s expression shifted slightly.

She never expected that these two would actually be hiding in the depths of the hive.

“Alice… and this gentleman, how should I address you?” Dr. Isaacs asked with a smile. “Would you care for a drink? This is a top-notch Blanc de Blancs Champagne from 1907, and it tastes exquisite.”

“Isaacs!” Alice growled. “Hand over the T-virus serum!”

Hearing this, Dr. Isaacs merely smiled faintly, as if everything was under his control.

“Alice, you’re still as naïve as ever. Did you really think that you are the only human to have perfectly bonded with the T-virus?”

Alice’s face turned pale. “You…”
