OKSTS Chapter 38

Chapter 38: I’ll Be Waiting for You in the Grove!

Fang Ye was now certain.

Forbidden Zone No. 3…

It was the world of *Mr. Vampire*!

It wasn’t just a hasty conclusion.

In his previous life on Earth, *Mr. Vampire* was a classic zombie movie.

The zombies in that film had been one of Fang Ye’s childhood nightmares.

That’s why *Mr. Vampire* left such a deep impression on him.

Renjia Town and Master Ren were names he could never forget…

On the podium, Professor Zhou’s voice continued:

“There are two missions you can choose in Forbidden Zone No. 3! One is classified as simple, the other as hard.”

“The simpler mission is to protect Renjia Town for one month! As long as the death rate among the townsfolk doesn’t exceed 30% during that time, the mission will be considered a success.”

“The difficult mission is to kill zombies!”

“The more you kill, the higher your mission rating!”

“I recommend you all choose the simpler mission because the zombies in Forbidden Zone No. 3 are incredibly powerful. You aren’t strong enough yet to easily handle them, let alone kill one yourselves!”

“The simpler mission may not offer as many rewards, but it’s much safer!”

A student spotted a flaw in Professor Zhou’s explanation and raised their hand to ask a question:

“Professor, if the zombies in Forbidden Zone No. 3 are so strong, why is it ranked third? Why not place it later, when we’re stronger and more capable of dealing with zombies?”

Looking at the questioning student, Professor Zhou smiled and said, “It’s great that you’re thinking that way!”

“As for your question, the government has certainly considered it. The reason Forbidden Zone No. 3 is placed at this stage is that the zones after it are far more dangerous than Zone 3!”

“If you can’t even complete the missions in Forbidden Zone No. 3, then your chances of survival in the later zones will be even slimmer!”

“The government has carefully thought through the order of these zones, and there’s no randomness in their arrangement.”

“On that note, I need to emphasize something.”

“Our country sacrificed countless pioneers to uncover the dangers within these forbidden zones. Their experiences are what allow you to face these challenges more easily today. I hope you all work hard to become strong, so you can contribute to our nation!”

Hearing Professor Zhou’s words, the student who asked the question sat down, their face filled with shame.

“Let’s continue the lesson…”

Professor Zhou continued, “Once you enter the forbidden zone, you’ll appear in Renjia Town. To help you blend in with the local environment, the school has already prepared period-appropriate clothing for you…”

“If you encounter danger in the zone, you can seek help from a Taoist priest named ‘Uncle Nine’ at the mortuary… Everyone, turn to page three of your textbooks, here’s an illustration of that Taoist priest.”

“Uncle Nine is highly skilled in martial arts and is an expert in exorcising evil spirits. He has a strong sense of justice, and if he hears about a zombie causing trouble, he will definitely act.”

“The mortuary is what the locals in Forbidden Zone No. 3 call the place where corpses are kept. If you’re lost, just ask one of the locals to direct you there.”

After finishing the class, Fang Ye had already come up with a rough plan for the mission!

Once his plan was executed, it was certain he would achieve a high mission rating!

However, the people of this world had already explored the storyline of *Mr. Vampire* quite thoroughly.

It couldn’t be helped.

The plot of *Mr. Vampire* was simple, and it all took place in a small town, making it easy to explore.

Fang Ye felt that others might have come up with the same plan as he did…

Yet even so!

Fang Ye was determined to carry out his plan!!

If he encountered “competitors,” then it would come down to who could act faster…

To execute his plan, Fang Ye would need an assistant!

His gaze swept across the classroom, and he quickly identified his ideal candidate…

*Ding-ding-ding!*

The class bell rang.

Professor Zhou didn’t take up any more of the students’ break time and left quickly.

As soon as he was gone, the students started chatting and discussing Forbidden Zone No. 3 with their close friends.

“Ziqiu, have you decided which mission you’re going to choose?”

A few girls approached Su Ziqiu, speaking in a slightly flattering tone: “Could you take us along?”

Su Ziqiu was momentarily stunned. She glanced at her roommates and shook her head, saying, “I haven’t decided yet…”

One of the girls suggested, “Why don’t you choose the simpler mission like we are?”

Su Ziqiu was considering it.

From Professor Zhou’s explanation, Su Ziqiu knew that zombies were incredibly strong—beyond their brute strength, they were immune to blades and bullets!

Her archery skills might be useless against zombies!

The simple mission seemed more suitable for her.

And by seeking help from Uncle Nine, the Taoist priest, she could prevent the zombies from killing people in Renjia Town.

However, Su Ziqiu wasn’t impulsive.

After thinking it over, she said, “I’ll make a decision after I’ve thought it through.”

Su Ziqiu wasn’t the only one people were trying to latch onto for help.

Even more people were hoping to cling to Fang Ye, seeking his assistance in Forbidden Zone No. 3.

Fang Ye, however, rejected all of them without hesitation.

He wasn’t worried about offending anyone or being isolated by his fellow students.

After all, this world was one where strength was the only thing that mattered, unlike Earth in his previous life.

As long as you were strong, there was no need to fear being targeted by others.

Amidst the disapproving looks of those he had turned down, Fang Ye calmly packed up his textbooks and left the classroom.

Instead of heading back to his dorm, he took out his phone, found Su Ziqiu’s number, and sent her a text:

“I have something to discuss with you. I’ll be waiting for you in the grove!”
