OKSTS Chapter 43

Chapter 43: What a Terrifying Guy

“Old Yan! You’re here early as well?”

A gentle voice rang out.

Moments later, the freshman instructor from Wushen Academy, Wang Liang, who looked scholarly and refined, appeared before everyone.

Seeing Wang Liang, Yan Tai’s previously good mood was instantly ruined.

“Do I know you that well?” Yan Tai responded coldly.

“We’re old classmates, after all. Even if there have been some misunderstandings, there’s no need to hold such a grudge, right?” Wang Liang said with a smile. He then added, “You haven’t had lunch yet, have you? Why don’t I have my students give up their seats for you?”

“Such a phony!” Yan Tai snapped, his face stern. He turned to his students and said, “Let’s go eat at the back of the cafeteria.”

Without a word, the students followed Yan Tai, heading further into the dining area.

Fang Ye observed the exchange between Yan Tai and Wang Liang, shaking his head in secret.

Old Yan is way too straightforward.

He’s completely no match for that “smiling tiger” Wang Liang.

It made sense though! If Yan Tai were better than Wang Liang, he wouldn’t be stuck teaching at Wusheng Academy. Meanwhile, Wang Liang was an instructor at the prestigious Wushen Academy, with a bright future ahead of him!

In terms of their career paths, Yan Tai was clearly the one on the losing side!

Still, if Fang Ye had to choose, he would definitely prefer a teacher like Yan Tai.

At least with him, you wouldn’t have to worry about being manipulated!

Watching Yan Tai’s retreating figure, Wang Liang kept his smile, looking as magnanimous as ever.

One of the Wushen Academy students couldn’t help but comment, “Teacher, is that Wusheng Academy instructor really your classmate? His manners are terrible!”

Wang Liang chuckled and replied, “There were some misunderstandings in our younger days—my fault, really.”

“But he doesn’t need to hold onto it forever, does he?” another student said indignantly, seemingly upset on behalf of their teacher.

The other students joined in:

“Exactly! Teacher, you’re giving him so much face, and he’s still being ungrateful. Does he really think he’s someone important?”

“Hmph! If he were really any good, he wouldn’t be stuck at a second-rate school!”

“Teacher, you’re too kind. Why bother keeping such a classmate around?”

Hearing his students’ complaints, Wang Liang waved his hand and sighed, “This is a private matter. I’ll handle it. For now, focus on your meal. After lunch, I want you all to rest well and prepare. I expect great results from you in Forbidden Zone No. 3.”

After saying this, Wang Liang turned and left.

His figure appeared thin and solitary as he walked away, stirring sympathy and admiration from many of the students.

However, at one particular table, the students watching Wang Liang’s back looked at him with disdain.

“Old Wang is such a hypocrite! What an actor!”

“Right? If we hadn’t heard about what Boss Lu said earlier, I might’ve fallen for his act too.”

“He smiles on the outside while stabbing people in the back. Wang Liang is ruthless!”

These students were the same ones who had been plotting Fang Ye’s demise in the private room earlier.

Lu Feng frowned slightly and said, “Enough. He’s still our teacher. Let’s keep our thoughts to ourselves.”

Hearing this, the others fell silent.

The girl named Meng Shu asked, “Boss Lu, where’s Zhao Fusheng? I haven’t seen him around.”

“He’s still training. He’ll meet us at the gathering point at two,” Lu Feng replied calmly.

Everyone was a bit surprised at this.

“Even now, he’s still training? That’s intense!”

“No wonder his overall evaluation is C+. That level of dedication is something normal people can’t match.”

“Yeah! What a terrifying guy…”

At 2 PM, all the students gathered at the entrance of Forbidden Zone No. 3.

There were five schools present today.

Schools that were farther away couldn’t make it for this batch and would enter tomorrow afternoon.

After all, Forbidden Zone No. 3 was in a remote location, close to the national border. Schools located further inland needed more time to travel here.

“Time’s up. Get ready to enter the zone!” a military officer announced loudly.

Having gone through the process before, the students quickly formed an orderly line and began entering the zone one by one.

Soon, it was Fang Ye’s turn.

His expression calm, Fang Ye stepped forward without hesitation.

In the blink of an eye, he found himself in a white space.

“Please choose your mission…”

A prompt appeared.

Two mission options soon appeared before Fang Ye:

[Mission 1: Protect the citizens of Renjia Town.]

-Mission Difficulty: Easy.

-Mission Duration: 30 days.

-Note: Renjia Town has a population of 100,000. If more than 30,000 people die, the mission will be considered a failure. Failure Penalty: Permanent entrapment in the current world.

-Note: The better your individual performance, the higher your mission rating.

[Mission 2: Kill zombies.]

-Mission Difficulty: Hard.

-Mission Duration: 30 days.

-Note: You must kill at least one zombie during the mission period. The more zombies you kill, the higher your mission rating!

-Warning: Failure will result in erasure!

Ignoring the red warning for Mission 2, Fang Ye immediately chose the zombie-killing mission.

After all, this *was* a forbidden zone—it wasn’t meant to be a playground…
