OKSTS Chapter 49

In the darkness.

A sudden gust of cold wind swept through the woodshed.

The air was filled with an eerie chill, bone-piercing in its intensity.

*Thud!*

The coffin made another noise.

This time, it was louder!

The coffin lid nearly flew off.

Fang Ye watched calmly from the side, his expression completely composed.

He was waiting for Old Master Ren to emerge on his own…

The next moment.

*Bang!*

The entire coffin suddenly exploded into pieces.

Immediately after, a shadow leaped out from the shattered coffin, returning to the world of the living!

It was none other than Old Master Ren.

By now, Old Master Ren had fully transformed into a zombie, with a blue-tinted face, sharp fangs, and a menacing appearance.

His body was stiff and upright, arms raised, with hands stretched forward. His sharp claws gleamed coldly under the moonlight streaming through the window.

“You’ve finally awakened!”

A soft voice echoed, instantly drawing Old Master Ren’s attention.

Seeing a living person like Fang Ye, Old Master Ren couldn’t hold back. The zombie’s instinct to feed on blood took over, driving it to lunge at Fang Ye!

“As expected, a mindless beast!”

As the zombie rushed at him, Fang Ye let out a cold snort, not bothering to dodge. He simply clenched his fist.

Old Master Ren moved fast.

But!

In Fang Ye’s eyes, it was as slow as a snail.

Because Fang Ye’s agility was now far beyond that of an ordinary person!

Over 40 times faster, in fact!

His reflexes were so sharp that he could even track the trajectory of a bullet.

To put it bluntly.

If someone were to shoot at Fang Ye right now, he could catch the bullet with his bare hands!!

A newborn zombie like Old Master Ren posing a threat to Fang Ye?

What a joke!

*Thud!*

A sharp, drum-like sound echoed through the room.

It was the sound of Fang Ye’s fist connecting with Old Master Ren’s body.

In an instant.

Old Master Ren was sent flying, his corpse crashing into a pile of firewood, reducing it to a heap of rubble.

“Oops, I might’ve used too much strength. Did I kill him with just one punch?”

Fang Ye withdrew his fist, a bit frustrated.

He had actually held back, using only about 30% of his strength.

In simple terms, it was just an “ordinary punch.”

If it had been a “serious punch,” Old Master Ren’s body might have ended up with a giant hole punched through it!

After all, Fang Ye’s strength was immense now.

Even a casual punch carried several tons of impact.

“Good thing the woodshed is at the edge of the village. The closest house, the village chief’s, is several dozen meters away. Otherwise, the noise just now might’ve alerted the villagers.”

Fang Ye muttered to himself.

Just then.

Su Ziqiu’s voice came from outside the door, “Fang Ye… are you okay?”

Her tone was filled with worry.

Clearly, the noise from the fight had been loud enough for Su Ziqiu to hear.

“I’m fine!”

Fang Ye replied, his gaze turning toward the pile of firewood.

The next moment.

*Bang!* Firewood flew everywhere.

Old Master Ren jumped out from the rubble, standing up once again.

Seeing that Old Master Ren was unharmed, Fang Ye breathed a sigh of relief…

At this moment, Old Master Ren snarled in Fang Ye’s direction, letting out a low, beast-like growl.

Clearly, Fang Ye’s punch had enraged him.

Anyone who’s seen *Mr. Vampire* knows that Old Master Ren isn’t an ordinary zombie. He retains some of his memories and, after awakening, immediately returned to the Ren family home, where he killed his own son. When pursued by Master Nine, Old Master Ren even displayed a certain level of cunning.

He wasn’t like other zombies that acted purely on instinct.

“Hmm? You still dare to bare your fangs at me?”

Fang Ye snorted coldly, “Looks like I didn’t hit you hard enough!”

With those words, Fang Ye strode toward Old Master Ren.

But Old Master Ren wasn’t afraid. He immediately lunged at Fang Ye again…

*Thud!*, *Boom!*, *Roar…*

Outside the woodshed.

Su Ziqiu could hear all sorts of loud noises from inside, mixed with terrifying roars.

The roars sounded like those of a wounded beast—definitely not something a human could make…

Su Ziqiu was anxious.

She wanted to go in and help.

But she was afraid that entering would only cause trouble for Fang Ye.

She knew her limits. She wasn’t strong enough to fight a zombie.

So, she stood anxiously outside, waiting.

She had already made up her mind. If Fang Ye failed and was killed, she would fight the zombie to the death. She would never let herself live on in fear!

Finally.

After a few minutes, the noises from inside the woodshed gradually subsided and then fell silent…

Su Ziqiu’s heart tightened.

She knew that the battle between Fang Ye and the zombie had ended.

But who had survived?

Su Ziqiu took a deep breath, summoning the courage to call out through the door, “Fang Ye, can I come in?”

The scene inside the woodshed was not as gruesome as Su Ziqiu had imagined!

Fang Ye stood there, completely unharmed, with not a speck of dirt on his clothes.

On the other hand, the zombie was a mess—its hat had been knocked off, its clothes were torn, and it looked utterly pitiful…

“They say zombies are invulnerable to blades and bullets, with immense strength?”

Fang Ye looked at Old Master Ren and snorted disdainfully, “I don’t think so!”

“So? Want to keep going?”

As Fang Ye spoke, he began walking toward the zombie.

Unexpectedly.

Instead of attacking, the zombie’s first reaction was to show fear. It started jumping backward, retreating into a corner, trembling.

In just a few minutes.

Old Master Ren had suffered inhuman levels of abuse and torment. He had finally realized that this human before him was far more terrifying than any zombie!
