OKSTS Chapter 81

**Chapter 81: The Match Begins, Watched by All!**

The Next Day.

“The 47th Annual Hundred Schools Tournament, Officially Begins!” In this world, threatened by dangerous beasts, humanity’s governments need powerful individuals to fight these creatures. Driven by the government’s strong support, the Newcomer Competition has become an event watched by all.

And so!

Starting a few days prior, the internet, news outlets, and TV stations have been flooded with promotions.

Especially today, news about the Newcomer Competition dominates all headlines.

Countless people eagerly anticipate the beginning of the tournament.

True, universal attention!

Early Morning.

Starting at seven in the morning, large crowds began flocking toward the canyon restricted area.

Among them were TV reporters, official representatives, livestream influencers, and famous personalities from various sectors… In short,

This is a grand event.

It has captured the attention of society from all walks of life!!

As Fang Ye and the school instructors entered the canyon, they saw the spectator stands already packed!!

A sea of people!

Not only were the seats full, but even the aisles were packed tight.

At least tens of thousands had gathered here.

If the police weren’t maintaining order, countless more would likely be trying to squeeze in.

Though it wasn’t even nine o’clock yet, the noise had already begun to build.

Countless people were discussing which school might emerge victorious as this year’s champion.

The entire restricted area looked like an enormous stadium, bustling with excitement.

“Which academy is that team from?”

“I don’t know either; probably not a prestigious one.”

“Is the Martial God Academy team here?”

“Why? Thinking of betting on Martial God Academy to win? Just get ready to cry!”

“Hey, do you know something insider? Tell me!”

“Haha, some of Martial God Academy’s strong students met an accident and died in Zone 3 earlier, so they definitely won’t win this time.”

“Hiss! That happened?”

“If Martial God Academy’s out of the running, then this year’s champion should come down to Tianyun University or Beijing University.”

“Oh man! I bet tens of thousands on Martial God Academy. Am I done for?”

“Brother, if you’ve still got some money, bet on another school. That way, you might at least break even…”

“I hope we see an underdog win this year!”

Fang Ye heard endless murmurs around him.

The massive restricted area arena was as noisy as a marketplace.

Besides the spectators, almost all the famous news media were present.

Reporters and streamers with cameras were everywhere, and numerous TV station cameras hovered overhead.

Fang Ye noticed that some of his classmates seemed a bit nervous.

The crowd was truly overwhelming.

With so many eyes on them, anyone who didn’t perform well might face public embarrassment… Just then,

A well-dressed woman approached Fang Ye and the others, directing them, “Competitors, please follow me this way.”

Instructor Yan Tai gave everyone an encouraging smile, “Go on! Give it your best!”

Fang Ye, along with Su Ziqiu and the others, followed the woman toward the backstage resting area. The room was already filled with students from other schools.

Nine o’clock in the morning.

The TV host appeared in the center of the arena and spoke into the camera, “Good morning, viewers! Welcome to the annual ‘Hundred Schools Tournament’ live broadcast. I’m your host, Zhou Bin, and I’ll be guiding you through the event!”

“Behind me, as you can see, all seats are filled, with many esteemed figures and leaders here, showing how significant this year’s tournament is…”

“The competition begins at ten o’clock, and right now, we’re holding the team draw ceremony, where each team will determine their first-round opponent through a draw.”

“This drawing process is fair and transparent, and we will witness the start of the competition under the gaze of a billion viewers nationwide!”

“Now, I ask the captain of each team to come forward for the draw!”

As the host’s voice faded, the entire venue erupted in applause.

Amid the thunderous applause,

Su Ziqiu took a deep breath and followed the other team captains up to the stage for the draw.

The host narrated as the draw took place.

Who faced whom.

He announced each matchup instantly.

After the drawing, all team captains returned to the backstage area to prepare for the competition.

As Su Ziqiu came back, his classmates gathered around him.

“Ziqiu, who did you draw?” a girl asked eagerly.

This girl, Zhao Shengnan, was Su Ziqiu’s roommate and one of the outstanding students from the Martial Saint Academy, having earned a purple task rating in Zone 2.

Su Ziqiu answered, “East Art Academy.”

Hearing his answer, his classmates started chatting.

“East Art Academy? That sounds familiar. Are they strong?”

“I know them; they’re not a top school but certainly more famous than us, Martial Saint Academy. They’re mid-tier at least!”

“So, are their students strong?”

“Hard to say, but their competitors are said to have hero talents, so it’s almost certain!” Hearing this, everyone’s expressions grew serious.

Those with hero talents are widely acknowledged to be stronger than the average person.

However,

They were not without hope, as they too had two aces… Fang Ye.

And Su Ziqiu!

Ten o’clock in the morning.

At the center of the arena.

The host announced loudly, “The competition begins! The first match of the first round: Blue Wing Academy vs. Fengming Academy!”

With the host’s announcement, everyone perked up, turning their eyes to the center of the arena.

The next moment.

A magical scene appeared.

In the center of the arena, a holographic projection of the Valley of Kings appeared.

This phenomenon naturally occurred in the restricted area.

Humanity had yet to master such technology…

Next, everyone could see two teams appearing at their respective bases within the Valley of Kings.

“As you can see, both teams are ready.”

The host’s voice echoed throughout the restricted area arena, “Now, please welcome the renowned commentator, Mr. Zhou Zhenghua, who will explain the match for everyone!”

In the resting room,

Fang Ye could also see the projection in the sky.

A look of interest crossed his face.

Although he had watched previous matches online,

Watching it live felt entirely different.

Other students were also fixated on the projection.

Watching others’ matches allowed them to gather information about the opposing teams’ members, and no one wanted to miss this.

And so,

The match began.

Both sides used standard tactics, defending two lanes and attacking one.

The students from these two schools were evenly matched, and the game was a back-and-forth struggle with plenty of excitement.

After twenty minutes, Blue Wing Academy finally outperformed their opponents, securing the crystal with an impressive final move!

*Clap! Clap!*

The arena erupted in enthusiastic applause.

The audience was thrilled by the match.

The contestants from both teams were talented heroes, making for a captivating game.

“Blue Wing Academy’s team this year is really strong!”

“Yeah! That swordsman’s ultimate move looked like ‘Atomic Slash,’ which must mean he’s a disciple of the Atomic Samurai.”

“If we face Blue Wing Academy, do we have a chance?”

“All we can do is give it our best, and let fate decide the outcome!”

Fang Ye overheard his classmates’ spirits dampened after watching Blue Wing Academy’s impressive match… The second match began.

This time it was two less skilled teams, nowhere near as exciting as the first. Then came the third, the fourth…

About an hour later,

The host announced loudly once again, “First round, match twelve: East Art Academy vs. Martial Saint Academy!”

“Would the competing teams please take the field!!”
