RWWOKS Chapter 10

This entry is part 11 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Chapter 10: A Stage for One

“Sweet!”

Brushing the dust off his pants, the fat Reincarnator turned around to look up at the man who had been watching. “What’s wrong? Don’t tell me you suddenly had a burst of righteousness?”

“Of course not.” Fang Bo, who had witnessed the entire scene, replied earnestly, “I’m just thinking, how confident am I about taking you down right now?”

Judging by the fat guy’s current condition, he still had some time before he’d be too weak to fight.

Considering his defensive talent and the special weapon in his hand, Fang Bo had held back from attacking.

The fat guy’s brutal actions were a stark reminder of the ruthlessness of the Reincarnation Space. There was no one to trust but yourself, and other Reincarnators must be regarded with deep suspicion.

This was the lesson Fang Bo had learned.

Sorry, Taige, but joining a team is no longer in my plans, especially given my unique situation—being constantly watched isn’t an option.

Hearing Fang Bo’s blunt words, the fat guy grinned, holding up his bone-cleaver, which glinted ominously. “Try it now if you want. I bet you’ll fail.”

Fang Bo had a growth-based talent, while the enemy had a strong defense as his immediate advantage. A head-on clash would be highly unfavorable for him.

Maybe he could use the guide’s help?

But before Fang Bo could finalize a plan, a Titan’s roar echoed from afar.

The ground quaked as if in an earthquake—the giant boulder had finally sealed the breach in the wall.

Which meant the Reincarnators had completed their main mission.

[Main Mission: Trost District Recapture (Completed)]

[You have received 80 Story Points]

[You may choose to immediately return to the Reincarnation Space.]

[Warning: Choosing to return will result in an automatic failure of the hidden mission!!!]

Naturally, Fang Bo chose to refuse, though he felt a pang of regret over the meager 80 Story Points.

What could he do? The awakening of his talent had made him miss out on prime monster-hunting opportunities, and then he’d had to personally witness the betrayal by the three Marley warriors.

All of that had taken up precious time, leaving him with very low contribution to the final mission.

“Hopefully, this won’t affect the final mission settlement.”

At this moment, the fat guy’s body was starting to become translucent. Before leaving, he made a throat-slitting gesture toward Fang Bo.

“Poor little shooter, the next time we meet, I’ll show you the true meaning of despairing power.”

So what if he was bold and decisive?

Without a strong talent, it all meant nothing. Being tough meant that big teams would be vying to recruit him when he got out.

Just because they were on the same level now didn’t mean they always would be. To be frank, Fang Bo no longer registered as a threat in the fat guy’s eyes.

With dreams of a bright future, the fat guy’s figure disappeared from the storyline world.

Fang Bo found a spot to sit quietly, watching the soldiers weep with joy. Soon, the 10-minute window ended.

Which meant, for now, Fang Bo was the only Reincarnator left in Trost District.

“The real game starts now.”

Other matters could wait; his priority was to max out his talent ability.

Anyway, the three Marley warriors wouldn’t be running off anywhere, given that Trost District still had a lot of clean-up work to do.

While the others were lost in celebration and even the main characters were hugging each other in tears of joy, Fang Bo was already resuming his hunt for Titans.

His odd behavior quickly caught the attention of a keen observer.

It was a youth with dead-fish eyes, wearing the attire of the Survey Corps, perpetually frowning, and sporting prominent dark circles under his eyes.

Levi Ackerman, captain of the Survey Corps, the strongest fighter in the entire series.

Forget ordinary Titans—even the Marley warriors in their Titan forms would struggle to survive more than a few rounds against him.

It was Levi’s presence that gave Fang Bo the confidence to accept the hidden mission; otherwise, it would have been impossible relying solely on Mikasa and Eren.

“Can someone tell me what the hell is going on?” Levi’s face wore a look of confusion.

He’d rushed over to support Trost District, only to find that the breach was sealed—by a human who had transformed into a Titan.

Had he fallen behind the times? Since when could the Garrison Regiment command Titans? Wasn’t that bunch only good for eating, drinking, gambling, and whoring?

After taking a couple of glances, Levi also jumped into the fray against the Titans.

While everyone else stayed as far away as possible, Levi seemed to get uncomfortable if he didn’t slice up ten or so Titans in a day.

Levi darted through the mass of Titans like the wind, making it look like an adult playing tag with a bunch of kindergarteners.

His killing efficiency was ten times that of Fang Bo.

Based on his observations, Fang Bo guessed that Levi’s maneuvering skill was at least level 10, possibly even higher, and his swordsmanship was equally top-notch.

Watching him slice a Titan into a dozen pieces, Fang Bo couldn’t help but marvel. Levi moved like a wind-up toy spinning at full speed.

Of course, Fang Bo would never dare voice that thought aloud, unless he wanted to taste Levi’s boot.

[Legendary Trait (Steel Heart) activated: Health +2]

With the last Titan falling, the sky was now completely dark.

Thanks to his relentless efforts, Fang Bo’s accumulated health had reached 15 points, increasing his overall life force to 65.

“Five more points to go. With some luck, I should be done tonight.”

He’d previously noticed that the Garrison Regiment had managed to capture two Titans with ropes—quite the rarity, suggesting that research on Pure Titans would soon commence.

And finally, the opportunity Fang Bo had been waiting for arrived.

At night, during a private commendation ceremony held by Commander Pixis for the main contributors, Fang Bo showed up uninvited.

Commander Pixis had read the report about this young hero who had awakened Eren, so he wouldn’t rudely kick him out.

But what Fang Bo said next stunned everyone in the room.

“Commander, during the earlier battle at Trost District, I personally witnessed soldiers killing a recruit from the 104th Training Corps, Marco.”

As soon as those words were out, Eren was the first to react, grabbing Fang Bo by the shoulder and urgently questioning him. “Jason, are you saying that Marco is dead?!”

The poor protagonist was still reeling in disbelief over the loss of a comrade, unaware that even more brutal truths were to follow.

Hearing about the murder of a comrade, Commander Pixis’s face turned stern. “Soldier, tell me who did this.”

“Sir, the perpetrators were new recruits from the 104th Training Corps.”

“Hey, you mean—”

“Reiner Braun, Annie Leonhart, and Bertholdt Hoover—they forcibly removed Marco’s gear and left him to be devoured by a Titan.”

“Shut up!” Eren yelled, infuriated.
