RWWOKS Chapter 110

This entry is part 111 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Fang Bo plopped down on the steps near the square, observing the bustling activity around him.

Near the portal, many reincarnation teams were recruiting members.

“Wolf Fang team recruiting MTs year-round, looking for reincarnators with defense-type talents.”

“Sign up for the space war, let’s avenge everyone’s losses together!”

“Orange Islands Dojo Challenge, need two partners with an elf-based route for team play!”

“Hunt the Four Heavenly Kings with Spirit Realm Detectives, looking for an exceptional healer.”

“Black Ribbon Legion recruitment—looking for two strong teams. Weaklings, get lost.”

Most of it didn’t interest Fang Bo, except for the upcoming space war.

These kinds of plot worlds generally had clear faction divisions, with different spaces belonging to various sides, waging constant wars to achieve certain objectives.

Out of curiosity, Fang Bo went up to inquire, only to find that the other party didn’t know much either.

People were just gathering for now, trying to see if their teams had any real powerhouses.

If there were big players involved, it would attract more strong individuals. On the other hand, if there weren’t, many people would rather avoid participating in the space war altogether.

Without a powerful figure backing them up, entering would just mean getting crushed by the other spaces, making it better to focus on completing another plot world instead.

Seeing that he couldn’t get the information he wanted, Fang Bo didn’t linger any further.

Due to various factors, he preferred not to get too entangled with others and had no intention of joining a specific team.

To put it bluntly, the only reason Ali and Darren were helping him was because of their excellent talents; otherwise, they wouldn’t have qualified to assist him, and there would’ve been no opportunity for them to form any meaningful bond.

Fang Bo believed in one principle: don’t drag your friends along as you move forward—find friends along the way.

Returning to his small home, he was about to contact others when he suddenly received a prompt from the space.

The second fate of his shikigami had been fully generated.

[ID 14552 has triggered a Fate Quest: Flesh Ascension!]

[Quest Description: Devour stronger beings to elevate Jorogumo’s flesh.]

[Quest Requirements: Hunt 0/9 Demon Kings and Great Yokai.]

[Special Note: The quest can be completed across multiple plot worlds.]

“Flesh Ascension, I like the sound of that.”

If Jorogumo could evolve again, she would become an SP-level Great Yokai.

Let’s see what kind of big shots are at that level.

Rengoku Ibaraki-Douji, Yomi-no-Higanbana, Ukiyo-no-Aoandon, Demon King Shuten-Douji, Jintian-Tamamo-no-Mae, Akakage-Youdouhime, Shouwa-Ootengu, and so on.

All of them were renowned super yokai, each capable of crushing Kibutsuji Muzan.

As a mass-producing yokai, Jorogumo’s second evolution would likely allow her to create more powerful demon spiders.

Perhaps by then, there would be a scene of her leading a horde of boss-level demon spiders.

Sitting on the sofa, Fang Bo pulled out a pen and paper and started listing the yokai plot worlds he was most familiar with.

*Yu Yu Hakusho* had plenty of strong yokai.

*Onmyoji*—no need to say more. It was Jorogumo’s birthplace, and the aforementioned big shots were all from this world.

*Inuyasha* also had a large number of great yokai, including figures like Sesshomaru and Inuyasha.

*Jujutsu Kaisen*—the cursed spirits could be considered a type of ghost or yokai, so Jorogumo could likely devour them for evolution.

*Dungeon Fighter Online*—some regions had demon kings and yokai.

*Momotaro*—the land was crawling with yokai, though it might be a bit harder to find great yokai.

*That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime*—similar situation, but it might not be possible to complete the fate quest in one go.

At least these were the worlds Fang Bo was familiar with.

While the number seemed substantial, knowing about them was one thing—hunting down demon kings was another.

He tucked the note away and then contacted some teammates from the previous world.

Soon, Darren arrived first.

Entering the room, Darren cast a disapproving glance at the decor. “What, haven’t had enough of that world?”

“I’m just being nostalgic.” Fang Bo invited him to sit down, curiously eyeing him, eager to find out what rewards Darren had received.

Typically, rewards from high-level quests would generate treasures that matched the reincarnator’s abilities.

Like the Immaculate Scroll, the shikigami’s second fate quest, or even special rewards for upgrading the automaton.

Since this was a rare world quest, it would be normal to receive a highly valuable reward, regardless of what it was.

Even if Darren’s reward wasn’t as good as his, it would at least be comparable to one of those things, surely giving him a significant boost in some ability.

Given what he knew about his companion, Fang Bo made a bold guess.

Darren’s reward must be related to his Sharingan. Even if it were him, he wouldn’t have chosen anything else.

As if he’d read Fang Bo’s curiosity, Darren took a sip of tea and settled into a comfortable position on the sofa. “You guessed right. My Sharingan has undergone a new evolution.”

“Really?” Fang Bo’s eyes lit up.

Since Darren’s Sharingan was already at the three-tomoe level, further evolution could only mean one thing: the Mangekyou Sharingan.

Thinking about the world-shattering power of the Mangekyou, Fang Bo was eager to see it in action. But when he saw Darren’s exhausted expression, Fang Bo quickly realized something.

No matter how strong the power was, it required spiritual energy to activate. This guy could barely handle combat with his three-tomoe Sharingan, let alone the Mangekyou, which had terrifying energy consumption.

Wasn’t *Black Flash* even more powerful?

And yet, Ali collapsed after using it once. If not for strong teammates, he would’ve died hundreds of times in the Demon Slayer world.

“What a tragedy.” Darren’s face twisted as if he’d eaten something disgusting. “Just maintaining the normal Sharingan consumes one point of spiritual energy every five seconds. Isn’t that insane?”

It was indeed insane. Unless you were in a one-sided battle, most fights lasted several minutes, if not longer.

Even if Darren didn’t use any skills, he’d burn through twelve points of spiritual energy in one minute. Throw in a skill, and he wouldn’t last even a minute.

Seeing Fang Bo sympathize with him, Darren sighed. “The Mangekyou’s consumption is even more ridiculous. I can’t even use its abilities.”

He didn’t say how much exactly, but it was obvious how terrifying the cost must be.

He couldn’t even maintain the Mangekyou, let alone use its special eye techniques.

By Fang Bo’s estimation, Darren wouldn’t be able to properly use the Mangekyou in battle until they entered a second-difficulty world and trained in several worlds afterward.

One-punch Ali was pitiful enough, and now Darren had received an ability he couldn’t even use.

Thinking of his still-unfinished equipment and the second fate quest that wouldn’t be completed anytime soon, Fang Bo instantly empathized with him.

“Uh, judging by your expression—”

“That’s right.” Fang Bo nodded and told him about the Purity Scroll. “I’ve had the blueprint for a while, and after spending everything I had, I’ve finally managed to get it made.”

He had intended to share his hardships, but when he looked up, he saw the flames of fury in his friend’s eyes.

Seeing Darren’s expression, Fang Bo could only chuckle awkwardly.

Darren’s teeth clenched in frustration. Just moments ago, he’d thought they were in the same boat, only to find out that Fang Bo was about to receive a potentially mythic-level full-body armor.

And on top of that, he could actually equip it.

In comparison, Darren felt like a neglected child.

Fang Bo wisely stayed quiet, fearing Darren might lose control and pounce on him.

When they first met, Fang Bo had thought Darren was a cold and aloof person. Now that they were more familiar with each other, he realized Darren was actually quite emotional.

He just hid it very well, making it hard to notice.

To avoid further provoking Darren, Fang Bo didn’t mention that his shikigami had awakened to its second fate or that he had earned a unique title in the space.

If he laid it all out, Darren might actually activate his Susanoo right there.

After a short while, Ali strolled in, looking smug. “Hey, guys, guess what I got?”

Darren: “…”

Fang Bo: “…”

“Uh…” The sorcerer scratched his head, unsure what was going on with the other two.

He sat down on the sofa and shared the biggest reward he’d received from the world quest.

“I was forced to learn Domain Expansion.”

Upon hearing this, Fang Bo wasn’t too surprised. Considering even the Mangekyou Sharingan had appeared as a reward, it wasn’t shocking that Domain Expansion had also shown up.

Ali had the ability to “Forced Harmonize,” which guaranteed he could trigger Black Flash. It was intriguing to think about how Domain Expansion would enhance that.

Seeing how happy Ali was, Darren asked in a quiet, somewhat gloomy tone, “Can you actually use this Domain Expansion?”

“Uh, no, I can’t.”

For some reason, Darren’s mood suddenly brightened, and he even felt like humming a little tune.

Afterward, the three shared what they had learned from the outside world. During the conversation, Ali seemed like he wanted to say something but kept holding back.

Fang Bo, of course, noticed, but pretended not to.

Darren also saw it all and couldn’t help but sigh internally.

Anyone would want to recruit a teammate like Jason, but it was clear he had no intention of forming a permanent team. Otherwise, he would have already noticed the sorcerer’s subtle hints.

“There’s no helping it, everyone has their own path,” Darren thought.

After about ten minutes, the doctor finally arrived, fashionably late.

Unlike the other two companions he had faced hardships with, Fang Bo didn’t fully trust the doctor. He always felt there was something off about the guy.

Without trust, there was no room for open communication, and he certainly wasn’t going to invite the doctor to join in the orphanage raid.

Seeing that the doctor wasn’t interested in small talk, Fang Bo immediately brought out Muzan’s red treasure chest.

Once the rewards were distributed, it was time to head to the real world and regroup.
