RWWOKS Chapter 125

This entry is part 126 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

The small vial in Fang Bo’s hand was actually an item from a red treasure chest.

**Demon King’s Blood:** A story item that grants the power of a Demon King to whoever consumes it.

This item, which surpassed even golden chests, had the potential to create a Demon King from nothing. How could it not cure a mere bloodline illness?

Since it was destined to be used on a story character, Fang Bo figured it might as well be used on Kimimaro.

Firstly, Kimimaro could help him complete his chain of hidden tasks.

Secondly, Kimimaro’s inherent strength was remarkable.

Even while critically ill, he managed to defeat formidable opponents like Nine-Tails Naruto, Rock Lee, and Gaara in succession.

In peak condition, his abilities would rival those of Kakashi Hatake, and if he were to activate his Cursed Seal state, he could unleash Kage-level power.

If Kimimaro successfully merged with the Demon King’s Blood, Fang Bo was immensely curious about how much stronger he could become.

Possessing such a powerful bloodline along with cellular regeneration might even push him to exceed the strength of the Three Legendary Sannin.

Observing the Demon King’s Blood being injected into Kimimaro’s body, Fang Bo moved quickly to the monitor, carefully watching the data.

Seeing this, Kabuto was about to offer an explanation when the young man on the bed suddenly started convulsing violently.

It was as if he were experiencing a seizure, his entire body shaking uncontrollably, unable to be restrained.

“W-What is this?!” Watching the rapidly surging metrics on the screen, Kabuto couldn’t help but widen his eyes in astonishment, glancing at Fang Bo.

He couldn’t comprehend what sort of substance could possess such power, capable of curing an incurable disease in mere moments.

“Ah!” Kimimaro let out a pained roar, veins bulging from his forehead as he seemed to endure immense suffering.

Fang Bo, ever observant, noticed that Kimimaro’s pupils were shifting toward a pink, vertical-slit form.

This signaled that he had successfully merged with the Demon King’s Blood, though Fang Bo wondered about potential side effects.

Could he lose his humanity? Develop a taste for blood and flesh?

If Kimimaro ended up losing his memories, that would certainly be an interesting twist.

Recalling Tanjiro’s transformation into a demon, Fang Bo began discreetly retreating, ready to flee if things took a dangerous turn.

On the other hand, the ever-cunning Kabuto also sensed the danger, and the two sly characters silently exited the laboratory in unison.

Exchanging a glance, Kabuto adjusted his glasses, focusing once more on the now quiet room.

“Hiroki-kun, it seems that this thing carries quite the risk,” he said, his tone implying more than he was letting on.

To his surprise, Fang Bo remained calm, casually waving off the concern. “Relax. It’s not as serious as you think.”

*Not that serious, yet you were about to run?* Kabuto thought, inwardly scoffing. *As if I’d believe you!*

They both fell silent, waiting patiently to see how it would all turn out.

After all, Kimimaro was beyond conventional treatment; whether he survived or not didn’t matter much at this point.

For Fang Bo, as long as Kimimaro didn’t attack them, he could consider the experiment a success.

Time passed, and eventually, the laboratory door creaked open. An exhausted Kimimaro stepped out.

In an instant, Fang Bo’s nerves tensed, his hand slowly rising, ready to shove Kabuto forward as a human shield if things went south.

Simultaneously, he used a detection skill to assess Kimimaro’s new state.

[Kaguya Kimimaro (Demon King)]

[Attack Inclination: Low]

[Attribute Inclination: Agility, Constitution, Spirit]

[Traits: Super Regeneration, Shikotsumyaku (Dead Bone Pulse), Martial Arts Expert, Earth Cursed Seal]

[Threat Assessment: Extremely Deadly]

-**Super Regeneration:** Restores 5% health per second.

-**Shikotsumyaku:** Manipulate osteoblasts and osteoclasts to control calcium concentration, forming unbreakable bones.

-**Martial Arts Expert:** Gain a 30% bonus to evasion.

-**Earth Cursed Seal:** Experience unnatural physical changes while enduring the erosion of natural energy.

Incredibly powerful attributes—far superior to the former Muzan Kibutsuji.

Especially with the Super Regeneration ability, Kimimaro could theoretically maintain his Cursed Seal state indefinitely.

As the young man straightened up, Fang Bo and Kabuto exchanged nervous glances, a chill running down their spines.

Even without displaying hostility, Kimimaro’s terrifying aura made the two feel a sense of deep discomfort.

Licking his dry lips, Kabuto managed a wry smile. “Why do I feel like he’s looking at us… strangely?”

“Don’t worry. He’s probably just hungry,” Fang Bo replied nonchalantly.

“…?”

Ignoring Kabuto’s startled reaction, Fang Bo addressed the young man, “How do you feel?”

“Better than ever,” Kimimaro replied, his pink, slit-pupils sweeping over the two. He paused for a moment before emphasizing, “Much better.”

*Not for long,* Fang Bo thought, motioning for them to follow him outside.

For what purpose?

To test something under the sun, of course.

As Muzan Kibutsuji’s successor, Kimimaro should theoretically be cursed by sunlight. Fang Bo wanted to see if he could overcome this weakness.

The idea was promising, but upon seeing Kimimaro struggling in pain outside, Fang Bo couldn’t help but sigh.

“As I thought, it’s not possible.”

Even with his newfound terrifying strength, Kimimaro lacked the ability to walk under the sun.

Henceforth, he could only strive to become a Demon King of the night.

Sensing Kabuto’s curious gaze, Fang Bo calmly remarked, “This is one of the costs. There’s no such thing as a perfect jutsu.”

“I see… Thank you, Hiroki-kun, for your help.”

[Side Quest: Bloodline Curse (Completed)]

[You have received 200 Story Points.]

[You have gained Three Assistance Rights.]

**Assistance Rights:** Under circumstances that don’t conflict with the character’s intentions, they will help you deal with troublesome people and situations.

Seeing his new rewards, Fang Bo’s interest piqued.

This meant he now had the support of a Kage-level+ powerhouse—someone who could assist him three times, enabling him to accomplish many goals.

Several plans that he previously dared not pursue were now within reach. The only pity was that Kimimaro couldn’t officially become his teammate.

Originally, Fang Bo wanted both Kimimaro and Jūgo as his right-hand men, practically ensuring victory in the second phase of the Chūnin Exams.

They could have effortlessly wiped out everyone in the Forest of Death.

Now, however, with Kimimaro’s Demon King form unable to tolerate sunlight, he could only participate as a team leader heading to Konoha.

In other words, Fang Bo still needed to find a third teammate.

Taking out the list provided by Kabuto, Fang Bo carefully scanned through it for quite a while before finally finding another name.

**Guren**, a long-term member of the Sound Ninja, possessed the “Crystal Release” Kekkei Genkai, a technique with terrifying potential in both offense and defense.

If she joined the team, their combat capabilities would undoubtedly rise to a whole new level.

Hearing Fang Bo’s request, Kabuto hesitated for a moment before agreeing.

Compared to what Fang Bo had already contributed, their current return was still meager. It wouldn’t make sense to refuse such a small favor.

In truth, Kabuto had a personal grudge against Guren, but given the current situation, such petty conflicts didn’t really matter anymore.

As the two conversed, Kimimaro, who had hidden himself in the shadows, had already composed himself.

By the time he rejoined them, the once bloodthirsty aura was completely gone.

Gazing deeply at Fang Bo, the Demon King Kimimaro expressed his gratitude in a deep voice, “Thank you for your help.”

“It’s nothing. Just don’t forget what you promised me.”

“Rest assured, when the time comes, I will fight with everything I have.”

As soon as his words fell, Fang Bo’s ears picked up a notification.

[You have successfully altered Kimimaro’s cursed fate.]

[You have obtained another Destiny Token.]

He hadn’t even used the previous token yet, and now he had an extra one.

Holding the newly acquired Destiny Token in his hand, Fang Bo fell into contemplation, considering how he might utilize it.

**Destiny Cloaking (3)**: Temporarily severs a target from the gaze of destiny.

By using up three Destiny Tokens, it was possible to cut someone off from the watchful eye of destiny.

Why do protagonists always emerge victorious despite facing overwhelmingly strong adversaries? Why do they always manage to win against all odds?

The answer is simple: destiny arranges countless coincidences that help them evade fatal dangers.

As the saying goes, a protagonist can fail numerous times, but a villain only needs to fail once to be utterly defeated.

If destiny’s aid could be cut off, would that mean there’s a chance to kill a story’s protagonist?

For instance, releasing the Nine-Tails from Naruto’s body might cause unimaginable devastation to Konoha.

“It feels like it’s worth a try.”

Having resolved the issue of his teammates, the next task was to complete another hidden mission: “The Red Sand Scorpion.”

To achieve this, Fang Bo needed Kabuto’s assistance.

Years ago, when Orochimaru had just joined the Akatsuki, he had Kabuto pretend to follow Sasori, even allowing him to implant a cursed seal into his mind.

Naive as he was, Sasori thought Kabuto was under his control and even sent him to infiltrate Orochimaru’s ranks.

Playing the role of a double agent was second nature to Kabuto, and he carried out such tasks effortlessly.

Initially, Kabuto had no intention of using this connection, but Fang Bo had somehow discerned his ties to Sasori of the Red Sand.

Left with no choice, Kabuto agreed to help him complete the mission, gradually growing more convinced of Fang Bo’s so-called “Fate Ninjutsu.”

Much like the original Tenchi Bridge incident, Kabuto could now reverse the contact with Sasori, luring their target out into the open.

As for Lady Chiyo, concerned for her beloved grandson, she would undoubtedly come out of hiding to provide support.

Of course, just the two of them wouldn’t stand a chance against Sasori. But with the help of the Demon King Kimimaro, it would be an entirely different story.

Whether Sasori held back or not, he wouldn’t be able to handle two Kage-level fighters. This would also serve as a good opportunity to observe Kimimaro’s true power.

It didn’t take long for the message to be sent out, and Chiyo responded swiftly, promising to arrive at the rendezvous point by the next day.

The meeting place with Sasori couldn’t be within Otogakure, as he wasn’t foolish enough to willingly walk into Orochimaru’s village.

Interestingly, Kabuto had chosen to meet at Tenchi Bridge once more, suggesting he had some special attachment to the place.

“Well then, safe travels,” Kabuto said, bidding everyone farewell.

As he was still officially a shinobi of Konoha, Kabuto couldn’t afford to be absent for too long.

With Kimimaro’s condition stabilized, he had to report back to Orochimaru, detailing the results of his observations.

Evidently, the Fate Ninjutsu’s potential might even prove beneficial to their research.

However, all these matters could wait until everyone gathered in Konoha.

Watching Kabuto leave, Fang Bo nodded at Kimimaro by his side, and together, under the cover of darkness, they set out on their journey.

But they hadn’t traveled far when Fang Bo suddenly stopped. He felt a strange sensation, as if every cell in his body was trembling violently.

“This feeling…”

With a slight sense of realization, his gaze shifted toward his own innate abilities.
