- The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline
- RWWOKS Chapter 137
Inside the room, Fang Bo toyed with a teacup in his hand, his gaze revealing a slight hint of contemplation. Orochimaru’s unexpected visit caught him off guard—wasn’t this guy supposed to be tailing Sasuke? Why come to his room in the dead of night?
When Orochimaru finally spoke, Fang Bo heard a request that was both unexpected and, in a way, perfectly logical.
Orochimaru knew of Fang Bo’s ability to peer into fate, and now, he wanted to use that power to find a way to break the *Reaper Death Seal*.
It was clear what Orochimaru was after—the soul of Minato Namikaze.
Due to his incomplete research on Hashirama cells, Orochimaru was unable to fully harness the true power of the Senju brothers.
Unable to overpower with brute strength, the best strategy was to win through numbers.
If he could add the strength of the Fourth Hokage to his forces, dealing with Hiruzen Sarutobi would become much easier.
Originally, Orochimaru had little hope of success. But after witnessing “Hiroki’s” abilities, his mindset quickly changed.
If someone could peer into fate itself, they surely had the power to help fulfill his desires.
This was the price Fang Bo paid for pretending to be a fortune-teller. Once a storyline character believed in him, they could make some very outlandish requests.
Seeing the mischievous grin on Orochimaru’s face, Fang Bo could easily guess the consequences of refusing this task.
[Side Mission #14552 Triggered: The Reaper’s Mask!]
[Mission Brief: Orochimaru seeks a way to break the *Edo Tensei*. Help him fulfill his wish.]
[Mission Objective: Find the Reaper’s Mask]
[Hint: You may try obtaining information from Konoha’s higher-ups.]
Holding a few *Fate Coins* in his hand, Fang Bo said with a serious expression, “Peering into fate comes at a hefty cost.”
This, of course, meant he was asking for a reward—helping was fine, but not for free. Payment was required.
Cunning as ever, Orochimaru understood immediately and responded with a sly smile, “Don’t worry. Once it’s done, I’ll make sure to send Hiroki-kun a gift.”
“Good.”
After courteously seeing him out, Fang Bo spent some time inside, pretending to search for answers, as though communing with fate.
In truth, he was just putting on a show.
Normally, the task would require him to “visit” Konoha’s higher-ups to gradually gather clues about the Reaper’s Mask.
Of course, by using *Fate Coins*, he could still obtain clues about the mask directly. Either method would eventually lead him to complete the mission.
But to Fang Bo, all of this seemed like too much hassle. It would be easier to just give a straightforward answer.
After a long while, Fang Bo opened the door, looking as exhausted as Jiraiya after a long day. He glanced at Orochimaru and said, “Found it. The item you’re after should be in the Uzumaki Clan’s shrine.”
For the residents of this world, the Uzumaki Shrine was a well-known location. Orochimaru’s excited expression gave it away.
Once they reached the shrine, with Orochimaru’s abilities, finding the real Reaper’s Mask would be no problem.
Fang Bo had thought the mission would end there, that he’d collect his reward and head back to get some sleep. But unexpectedly, Orochimaru insisted that Fang Bo accompany him.
“The mission isn’t over until I have the mask in hand. Wouldn’t you agree, Hiroki-kun?”
With no other choice, the group set off into the night.
Aside from Orochimaru and Fang Bo, a few nameless underlings from Otogakure accompanied them.
These lackeys were waiting outside the village, clearly following Orochimaru’s orders. Fang Bo guessed that these unlucky souls were likely to become sacrifices for the *Edo Tensei*.
Helping Orochimaru acquire the Reaper’s Mask meant there was no fear of Sarutobi sealing his arms.
As long as he retained the ability to use jutsu, Orochimaru wouldn’t lose his spot as the big bad villain, and the success rate of the Konoha Collapse Plan would increase.
“With the combined forces of three Hokage, Hiruzen Sarutobi wouldn’t stand a chance. I wonder how much of their strength will be restored,” Fang Bo mused as they hastened towards their destination. With his 13 agility points, he just barely managed to keep pace with the others.
As the sky began to lighten, they finally arrived outside the Uzumaki Shrine.
“Finally found you,” Orochimaru said as he pushed open the dusty wooden door and lit a candle, his gaze fixed on the array of masks adorning the walls.
With a sharp eye, Orochimaru quickly pinpointed the real Reaper’s Mask.
[Side Mission: The Reaper’s Mask (Complete)]
[You have earned 150 plot points]
[You have acquired *Sealing Technique Compendium*]
*Sealing Technique Compendium*: Contains detailed records of the Uzumaki Clan’s sealing techniques.
The booklet can’t be used directly, but it can be studied repeatedly. It allows you to learn various sealing techniques without occupying a skill slot.
“What a treasure,” Fang Bo thought, quite pleased with his reward.
He had worn out the illusionary technique book Darren had given him and was longing for new knowledge to study. Now, this *Sealing Technique Compendium* appeared just in time.
In due course, and barring any unforeseen circumstances, Fang Bo could master the signature sealing techniques of the Naruto world.
Unlike formations, barriers, or domains, Naruto-style sealing techniques primarily targeted energy—specifically the chakra system unique to this world.
The effects of these techniques would most likely suppress the use of energy, potentially imposing debuffs like silencing enemies or disabling skills.
Many reincarnators who followed a support role loved to learn such abilities. Weakening enemies made it easier for their teammates to fight.
“Besides limiting chakra, it can restrict movement, seal energy-based techniques, and more,” Fang Bo was almost lost in his new book when he snapped back to reality.
Orochimaru had already completed the ritual, using a gut-wrenching method to release the Fourth Hokage’s soul.
Of course, Orochimaru couldn’t survive this process himself, which was why he needed to possess a new body. This was the price of tampering with the Reaper.
As he watched the grotesque white phosphorus snake slither about, Fang Bo couldn’t help but wonder what kind of entity the Reaper was in this world of Naruto.
Was it a real god, or merely a sealing medium created by the Uzumaki Clan?
Considering the existence of the Jashin cult, Fang Bo leaned towards the former—an indigenous god capable of devouring souls.
For some reason, the Uzumaki Clan had discovered its existence and created the *Reaper Death Seal* to harness its power.
Otherwise, why would the Uzumaki be crazy enough to perform a sealing jutsu that required them to sacrifice their own lives? It made no sense.
Just as Fang Bo was about to enjoy the *Edo Tensei* spectacle, he suddenly noticed the white phosphorus snake charging straight at him.
The creature was too fast, with an agility stat of at least 40 points. Before Fang Bo could react, the snake had already sunk its fangs into his shoulder.
[You’ve been attacked by the storyline character Orochimaru!]
[Warning: An unknown energy has invaded your body!]
As Fang Bo slowly rose from the ground, he felt the cold energy form a special mark on his neck.
[You have acquired the passive skill “Curse Mark of Heaven MAX”!]
**Curse Mark of Heaven MAX (Passive Skill):** Upon activation, this grants varying degrees of attribute enhancements, with a cooldown of 30 minutes.
– **Curse Mark Form 1:** +4 Spirit, +2 Agility, but reduces 2 HP per second.
– **Curse Mark Form 2:** +6 Spirit, +4 Agility, but reduces 5 HP per second.
As a reward for his contribution, Orochimaru bestowed upon Fang Bo the fully maxed-out version of the Curse Mark of Heaven, almost identical to what Uchiha Sasuke would receive in the future.
When Fang Bo activated the second form of the Curse Mark, his Spirit attribute reached an astonishing 40 points, far exceeding the range of difficulty for this world.
It’s important to note that increasing base attributes significantly enhances the power of his skills. At the very least, he could now amplify the strength of certain high-power abilities to reach near-40 levels of destructive force.
If he later enriches his weapon arsenal, the effect of using the *Gate of Babylon* skill would be greatly enhanced.
At the very least, the strike range and speed of flying weapons would increase, as would the number of attacks he could unleash.
While it sounded promising, the truth behind the Curse Mark of Heaven was far from simple. It was a forbidden jutsu created by Orochimaru with the intention of taking over the bodies of others.
The power of the curse mark would slowly erode Fang Bo’s body, allowing him to gradually adapt to Orochimaru’s chakra. When the time was right, Orochimaru would seize his body.
The only reason Orochimaru hadn’t acted yet was because Fang Bo’s attributes were still too weak to handle the terrifying chakra of Orochimaru.
In the short term, Fang Bo was safe, but over time, that might not be the case.
Perhaps the next time Fang Bo entered the Naruto world, he would have to face the looming threat of Orochimaru. Then again, by that time, who would be the one threatening whom?
“Trying to steal my ability to control fate?” Fang Bo easily deduced Orochimaru’s intentions.
Even though he knew the plan, Fang Bo wasn’t alarmed. At least in this storyline world, Orochimaru wouldn’t make a move.
By the time he returned, who knows how much his strength would have evolved? Perhaps it would be Orochimaru who should be afraid.
Meanwhile, the white phosphorus snake that successfully planted the curse mark slithered into another body, completing its revival.
It was worth mentioning that the unlucky vessel, the sacrificial pawn, wore a blissful expression, as if dying for someone else was a grand and noble deed.
Even the ninjas who had been chosen as sacrifices for the *Edo Tensei* wore expressions of heroic sacrifice. One had to admit, Orochimaru’s ability to manipulate minds was frighteningly powerful.
Once Orochimaru stood back up, he turned his gaze towards Fang Bo, licking his lips slightly. “This is my gift to you. With it, you will perform much better in the Chunin Exams.”
Of course, he deliberately withheld the negative effects of the curse mark.
He only spoke of the benefits, leaving out the risks—classic rogue behavior.
Internally, Fang Bo sneered, but outwardly, he expressed gratitude, nodding respectfully. “Thank you, Lord Orochimaru.”
With a single hand, Orochimaru could easily crush him, so Fang Bo dared not show any dissatisfaction. In fact, he was quite pleased with the attribute boosts the curse mark offered. The HP drain was a problem he’d have to endure.
As Orochimaru had said, with the boost from the Curse Mark of Heaven, Fang Bo’s journey through the space war would indeed be smoother.
“No worries. This is the reward you’ve earned,” Orochimaru replied with a faint, mysterious smile. He then moved to the center of the shrine, where another sacrificial pawn awaited him.
*Ninja Art: Edo Tensei!*
Countless gray-black paper scraps wrapped around the sacrifice, and amidst agonized screams, a blond-haired man with black pupils slowly emerged.
This man was none other than the Fourth Hokage, Minato Namikaze. Orochimaru had ultimately succeeded in summoning him.
Seeing that the reanimated Minato had yet to regain consciousness, Fang Bo sneakily used a reconnaissance skill to check his attributes.
[Minato Namikaze (Reanimated Body)]
– Attack Tendency: None
– Attribute Focus: Agility, Spirit, Perception
– Traits: Reanimated Body, Jinchuriki, Superhuman Reflexes
– Threat Level: Extremely Lethal
– Reanimated Body: Cannot be killed by normal means; any damage is quickly restored.
– Jinchuriki: Contains the chakra of a tailed beast, allowing access to powers not his own.
– Superhuman Reflexes: You possess reflexes far beyond normal human capability.
“This terrifying existence… even top-level reincarnators from a second-difficulty world wouldn’t be able to handle this, would they?”
Perhaps they could, perhaps not. These were questions Fang Bo wasn’t ready to answer yet.
