RWWOKS Chapter 14

This entry is part 15 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Chapter 14: Return

Killing Bertholdt had given Fang Bo unimaginable benefits. If he could take down the Female Titan in front of him, he would truly rise to new heights.

“She’s lost a leg, her movements are restricted.”

“Eren is suppressing her from the side, and Mikasa is watching from above. The Female Titan’s attention shouldn’t be on me.”

“I can do this—strike her down before she reacts!”

The gas from his omni-directional gear shot out, and the power maxed out in an instant. Fang Bo rapidly closed in on the nape of the Female Titan’s neck.

It was as if he could already see the golden treasure chest beckoning him.

But just then, a massive hand came out of nowhere, so fast that Fang Bo only realized it was upon him when it was too late.

“What…?”

He didn’t have time to dodge, so he curled up his body as tightly as possible, trying to minimize the impact.

Fang Bo didn’t understand why his usually reliable senses had failed him at such a crucial moment.

“Here’s a reminder, since you showed such bravery: perception is a tool, not something you can always rely on.” the guide’s voice echoed in his mind. In that moment of clarity, Fang Bo finally understood the meaning behind those words.

If the difference in attributes between two sides was too great, “sensing” wouldn’t work. You could be deceived—or worse, misled.

Since entering this plot world, this was Fang Bo’s biggest mistake.

In a world filled with danger, making mistakes often came with painful consequences.

**Bang!**

Unsurprisingly, he was smacked away by the giant hand, the force so great that he bounced several times upon hitting the ground.

[You have been struck by the Female Titan, sustaining 44+8 points of crushing damage.]

[You are affected by dizziness and temporarily unable to control your body.]

[You have suffered severe internal injuries, losing 5 HP per minute.]

Had it not been for the health boost from his “Heart of Steel” trait, that hit would have killed him instantly.

It was no surprise that this was a hidden mission—despite all the factors in his favor, a single moment of carelessness could still cost him his life.

Fang Bo couldn’t move for the moment, but it didn’t matter. The current situation no longer required him to risk everything.

Annie couldn’t escape  Eren’s relentless attacks, and Reiner’s situation was even worse. Alone against Levi, he stood no chance.

Hard to cut? So what? Levi would just slash him more.

In truth, the hidden mission had ended the moment Eren had been provoked into action.

[Hidden Mission: Traitors Must Be Punished (Completed)]

[Calculating results… Generating rewards…]

[Since this is the first time the reincarnator has completed a hidden mission, you receive an additional selectable reward.]

[Based on your contribution, you may select three rewards from the following options:]

[Option 1: Receive 1,000 Plot Points.]

[Option 2: Receive Basic Grappling Scroll LV5.]

[Option 3: Receive 10 Merit Points (Rare).]

[Option 4: Receive Perfect Restoration Potion (Rare).]

[Option 5: Receive equipment: “Unreturnable Hometown” (Uncommon).]

Five options and the chance to pick three—a pretty sweet deal.

Seeing the word “Uncommon,” Fang Bo didn’t hesitate and chose that equipment right away.

Once he had it in his hands, he realized it was actually a necklace, and its attributes were outstanding—way beyond what he expected.

“Totally worth it.”

For his second choice, he quickly made up his mind.

**Perfect Restoration Potion:** Restores 100% of HP and SP. Can be used in combat.

With this item, it was like having an extra life—there was no way he could pass that up.

As for the final reward, he quickly dismissed the Basic Grappling Scroll. His strength and agility were average at best—just like any ordinary person—so learning grappling skills would be pointless.

The Merit Points, marked as “rare,” seemed valuable, but he didn’t know their use.

In contrast, the 1,000 Plot Points were very tempting. Choosing that could fully gear him up.

“Screw it, let’s gamble a little.” Instead of the Plot Points, Fang Bo trusted the system’s valuation of the rewards.

If something was labeled as rare, it had to be useful somewhere. The Reincarnation Space wouldn’t just make something up to trick him.

Storing his rewards in the tattoo on his wrist, Fang Bo slowly turned his head to see Eren approaching Reiner step by step.

Thanks to his earlier provocation, Eren’s mind was now fully enraged. It seemed like he wanted to swallow Reiner whole.

Seeing this, Levi quickly stepped in to stop him—though his method was a bit rough, leaving Eren covered in blood.

“…This damn little shorty,” Mikasa muttered in anger. Fortunately, she was rational enough to know that taking care of Eren was the priority now.

Though the process was rough, they managed to uncover the hidden traitors successfully.

Amid the collective roar of fury from the soldiers, Fang Bo’s figure slowly faded away from the scene.

In an empty room, Fang Bo sat on a chair, his focus entirely on the task completion screen in front of him.

[Story Scene: Attack on Titan]

[Mode: Peace Mode]

[Difficulty: Easy]

[Worldline Distortion: 26.85%]

[Completion Rating: S]

[Mission Rewards: 3 Attribute Points, 6 Merit Points, 600 Plot Points]

“Huh, the rewards are surprisingly high,” Fang Bo said with a bit of surprise.

During the third main storyline mission, he hadn’t contributed much and thought his final rating would be lower.

It seemed that completing the hidden mission raised the rating, and maybe the mysterious “worldline distortion” had something to do with it.

There were so many mysteries about this place that Fang Bo didn’t understand. But surely someone could give him the answers he sought.

He opened the door to the room and walked through a translucent portal, stepping into a bustling plaza.

It felt like wandering through a night market; both sides of the street were lined with all sorts of stalls.

“Newcomer’s guide, learn all the essential info about the space quickly.”

“Potions on sale—top quality from the Alchemy Guild!”

“Recruiting for Sword World teams, need a healer.”

“Crafted in the Forge Village, wield it and you’ll never fear facing a boss solo.”

“Kagune for sale! Offense and defense in one, essential for clearing storylines.”

“Recruiting for Blade Team—if you haven’t cleared three storylines, don’t bother coming.”

Like a curious child, Fang Bo wandered around, checking out one thing after another. The beautiful Kagune from the Tokyo Ghoul world was especially fascinating.

It could be controlled using Spirit points—perfect for his playstyle. Fang Bo wasn’t someone suited for close-combat, and the Kagune would be an excellent fit.

Not to mention, he had just gotten a really great necklace.

After wandering around for a while, he finally approached a stall selling information.

“Hey, boss, I’ll take a Newcomer’s Guide.”
