RWWOKS Chapter 141

This entry is part 142 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

“Curious, aren’t you?” The man leaning against the wall suddenly turned his head toward Fang Bo, his eyes filled with amusement. “You also have the same talent, so I bet you’re eager to learn about my abilities, right?”

The man wasn’t angry, so Fang Bo didn’t feel the need to stir up trouble any further.

Compared to such polite responses, Fang Bo preferred those who would fly into a rage instantly, swearing to kill him in the second round of the exam.

That kind of reaction usually meant another paycheck, and right now, Fang Bo wasn’t afraid of battle—he was just worried he wouldn’t find someone to fight when he was itching for a brawl.

With his mass-production build fully developed, Fang Bo had plenty of confidence.

Seeing Fang Bo remain silent, the man continued with a smile, “How about this: why don’t we show each other our talents? Honestly, I’m also curious about what yours is.”

“Sure,” Fang Bo replied, grinning enthusiastically. “You can start first.”

However, the man didn’t oblige and even suggested that Fang Bo should go first instead.

Too bad Fang Bo wasn’t stupid enough to fall for such an obvious trick.

If Ali were here, he might have fallen for it, though.

The two sly veterans exchanged knowing glances and smiled, silently acknowledging that neither was an easy opponent. There was no need to start a life-or-death struggle here and now; it would be better to target weaker reincarnators.

If they had to fight, they could wait until the dust had settled.

The third round would be the true clash of the strong. For now, all the top-tier fighters were focused on how to rack up points.

While the others were still in the dark, Fang Bo already had a plan in mind.

As soon as the second round began, he would rush to the center of the forest and summon his shikigami to deploy an army of ghost spiders to set up a blockade.

He didn’t need them to kill anyone—just to delay the enemies until he could arrive.

Anyone trapped in his web wouldn’t escape alive.

It was a simple and direct plan, and highly feasible.

Others might try a similar tactic, but blocking paths was difficult without a large number of summons.

There was another crucial point: one needed to have overwhelming strength.

Otherwise, after a series of battles, even ensuring their own safety would be uncertain.

In this area, Fang Bo had an unmatched advantage.

First, his *Ghost Spider Army*.

Even if Fang Bo didn’t fight personally, Jorogumo was more than capable of killing reincarnators, and *Ghost Mother Yinji*’s combat prowess was also exceptional.

Second, Fang Bo’s healing abilities greatly enhanced his endurance.

He didn’t even need his three giants anymore; any ghost spider could endlessly restore his health.

Third, Fang Bo’s perception was highly advanced, and Jorogumo’s perception was even stronger.

With both positioned at opposite ends of the battlefield, waiting silently for prey to fall into their trap, no enemy would be able to break through the perimeter quickly.

Fourth, Ghost Mother Yinji’s children could continue evolving.

So far, only three of his ghost spiders had reached the second tier. The rest still had a long way to go before full evolution.

Not to mention the existence of even more powerful third-tier species. In other words, Fang Bo was the embodiment of “the stronger the fight, the stronger the fighter.”

As long as he didn’t encounter an unbeatable opponent, he had the strength to outlast and outfight anyone.

All of these advantages stemmed from multiple factors, with Ghost Mother Yinji being a major one.

Fang Bo often wondered if Yinji could evolve further into an SP-level shikigami and whether that would allow her to spawn more and stronger high-tier spider soldiers.

Perhaps even fourth-tier or fifth-tier ghost spiders.

At that point, a single ghost spider might possess attributes rivaling a reincarnator.

“Blood Ascension… I need to complete this destiny task soon.”

Hunting down nine ghost kings sounded easy, but Fang Bo knew the actual difficulty was immense.

Even finding them, let alone defeating them, would be a monumental task.

“Unless I can enter the *Onmyoji* world. Speaking of which, I haven’t seen Ryuno in a while. I’ll have to visit her when I get back.”

Fang Bo was nothing if not practical.

He only sought people out when he needed something—either borrowing money or wanting to enter the *Onmyoji* world for a while.

Most of the time, he probably wouldn’t even remember that Ryuno existed.

Of course, there were other worlds he could enter, like *Inuyasha* or *Yu Yu Hakusho*.

He had a strong suspicion that even the *Pokemon* world would allow him to complete his destiny task.

Any Dark/Ghost-type Pokemon with a high enough level would likely meet the requirements for the Blood Ascension task.

“Now that I think about it, *Digimon* might work too. *Myotismon* could definitely qualify as a ghost king, right?”

Fang Bo sat there, lost in thought.

Meanwhile, other exam rooms were finishing up the written portion, and those who passed began gathering in the designated room.

It’s worth mentioning that the mass Fear spell earlier had eliminated more than twenty people—a highly effective move, though no one knew who had cast it.

As for whether these reincarnators felt they were wronged, the proctors didn’t care.

Did you really expect fairness and principles during a mission?

If you couldn’t handle unexpected situations, how could you become a Chunin capable of leading a team?

And so, those reincarnators had no choice but to crawl back to the dimensional space in defeat.

The Fear spell was strong, but its mental resistance threshold was low.

According to one reincarnator, during the earlier commotion, anyone with a Spirit attribute of ten or higher could easily resist the fear effect.

It was likely the wide range of targets that weakened the spell’s power, but the real advantage was in its element of surprise.

If people had been prepared, far fewer would have been eliminated.

**Points: 5**

Looking at his meager points, Fang Bo wanted to drag the person responsible out and give them a beating.

Twenty people gone in an instant—do you know how many points that costs me?

One point equals one merit value, and just thinking about it made Fang Bo’s heart ache.

“I hope there won’t be any more surprises,” Fang Bo prayed silently.

Hearing his muttered complaint, Yao Yao, who had somehow snuck up beside him, patted his arm reassuringly and said, “Big brother, if you’re scared, we can team up.”

The young girl acted as if she could protect him.

“…Just worry about yourself.”

Fang Bo smiled helplessly and then turned his attention to the other candidates in the room.

It wasn’t just reincarnators; even plot characters had begun to arrive.

Naruto, Sasuke, Rock Lee, Neji Hyuga, the Sand Siblings, and even Kabuto Yakushi, with his friendly smile and glasses, were all here.

Of course, the key plot character of this exam, Orochimaru, disguised as a Grass Village student, was also present.

As Fang Bo surveyed the room, he noticed that the average age of the candidates was well over 25. In comparison, the Konoha rookies looked like a group of babies—young and laughably inexperienced.

Konoha may be impressive, but it wasn’t the entire shinobi world. Among the broader ninja population, Chunin were the true backbone.

To become a Chunin meant you were someone capable of handling significant responsibilities.

As for Jonin?

They were each village’s most prized assets, true strategic weapons. Unless you were following the plot’s main characters, most people would likely never encounter a living Jonin in their entire lives.

*Crash!*

The sound of shattering glass signaled the entrance of the proctor for the second round, Mitarashi Anko.

As a former apprentice of Orochimaru, it was obvious that she wasn’t your average person, something that was evident from her unique way of making an entrance.

However, the reincarnators present had all seen their fair share of strange things, so Anko’s antics were nothing extraordinary to them.

If there was one thing that stood out, it was probably the two prominent lumps on her chest and her daring, revealing fishnet outfit.

“That’s gotta be fun,” one reincarnator muttered, licking his lips.

The next second, Anko instantly appeared behind him, her *Body Flicker Technique*, inherited from Orochimaru, working flawlessly.

Gray serpents slithered out from her sleeves, slowly coiling around the now-paralyzed man.

In the *Naruto* storyline, Mitarashi Anko might not have been particularly impressive, but she was still a Tokubetsu Jōnin—a level far beyond a reincarnator with none of their attributes maxed out.

The fact that she subdued him without even letting him react spoke volumes about her strength.

“I’m curious, just how much fun can you be?” she teased with an ambiguous tone.

Faced with the sharp fangs of the serpents, the man, who had been boasting moments earlier, was now completely speechless.

“Hmph, useless trash.” She kicked him into a corner, then coldly turned to the rest of the group. “Everyone, follow me. We’re heading to the next exam site.”

With that, she jumped out the window, and the others followed suit, some even breaking more windows to leap outside.

“…” Yamanaka Inoichi sighed and exchanged a wry smile with the other proctors.

“Well, guess we need to get someone to fix that,” one of them said.

“Yeah, no choice.”

As they traveled, Fang Bo occasionally observed Orochimaru.

He noticed that the legendary Sannin seemed slightly more upbeat than usual, showing that he wasn’t entirely indifferent to his former disciple.

If he were to say, the Konoha Crush plan seemed a bit half-baked.

If Fang Bo were the one scheming, he would have pulled in more firepower—at the very least, not allowing the other four hidden villages to sit idle.

Gathering more strength or preventing the early leak of information could have greatly increased the plan’s success rate.

Speaking of leaks, Mitarashi Anko’s survival was a major reason the plan got exposed.

Orochimaru had shown her mercy once, letting her live, but Fang Bo wouldn’t allow such things to happen.

To increase the odds of success in his own mission, Fang Bo wouldn’t hesitate to sacrifice even epic weapons. There was no way he’d allow someone to betray the plan.

If Orochimaru couldn’t do it, Fang Bo would take care of Anko himself.

It just so happened that killing her could also help him complete another war mission.

[War Mission 3: Kill 3 Jōnin.]

So far, he hadn’t made any progress, but that didn’t matter—Anko would be the first victim.

As they ran, the group soon arrived at the second exam’s site: the Forest of Death.

Anko, acting as the proctor, explained the rules for the second stage.

In simple terms, teams would be assigned either a Heaven Scroll or an Earth Scroll, and only by collecting both and reaching the central tower would they pass the exam.

This stage tested a ninja’s ability to gather intelligence, track, and fight.

But for the reincarnators, the real thrill was in the battles.

Killing a few people could yield enough loot to equal the rewards of a mainline mission.

For the elite, the Forest of Death was the perfect hunting ground.

In short, don’t spare any enemy you encounter.

Even if a rat scurried by, it deserved to be stomped on.

“Well then, I wish you all an enjoyable journey,” Anko announced with a grin as the exam officially began.

Inside a secluded tent, Fang Bo received his team’s Earth Scroll.

Based on the number they were assigned, he and his teammates moved to Entrance 84 to wait for the countdown.

With three minutes left until they could enter the forest, Fang Bo glanced at his two plot-character teammates and said in a low voice, “Stick to the plan—head straight for the central tower.”

“Got it.”

“No problem.”

The most brutal battle was about to begin!
