RWWOKS Chapter 148

This entry is part 149 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

On the other side, the alchemist had no choice but to abandon the ultimate move he had been preparing for a long time.

“That damn woman, she must have done it on purpose,” the man’s eyes were filled with panic.

With the relentless advance of Jorogumo and the ghost spiders, he had no option but to repeatedly use alchemical bombs to push them back.

As for his diamond-condensing ability, the alchemist hadn’t yet mastered it. Simply put, he didn’t have enough plot points to upgrade it.

He had planned to level up gradually, and with Guan Yun Chang’s assistance, he wouldn’t have lacked firepower. But who could’ve expected to encounter such terrifying enemies in the forest?

If he’d known this, he would never have gone after those few points in the first place.

“Damn it! If that guy hadn’t gotten lost, we wouldn’t be in this mess!”

Bang!

Not long after, Fang Bo shot the man in the knee, signaling that the alchemist had completely lost the ability to resist.

“Wanna pay to save your life?” he asked.

Seeing the alchemist’s sullen face and refusal to answer, Fang Bo couldn’t be bothered to say more. Both of them knew that no matter how much money he handed over, he wouldn’t be spared.

Either way, he was going to die, so why give his enemy any satisfaction before death?

“Don’t kill him yet.”

Fang Bo stopped Jorogumo from devouring the man and instead opened the loot box dropped by Guan Yun Chang.

[You are opening the kill box of ID 16205]

[You received 850 plot points]

[You received the Green Dragon Crescent Blade]

[You received the Power Dragon Jade]

Seeing the items that came out of the box, the small bit of frustration that had been building up inside him instantly disappeared.

As expected of a powerful follower, every item from this box was better than the last.

First, the 850 plot points instantly boosted his meager savings.

The reason for such a large amount was likely due to the numerous reincarnators who had died at the hands of the female Martial Saint.

Even though most people habitually empty their inventory before entering the battlefield, killing enough people would eventually accumulate a decent amount of plot points.

Too bad she hadn’t had the chance to use them, and now they all belonged to Fang.

Though the plot points were a great haul, they paled in comparison to the next two pieces of equipment.

Item Name: Power Dragon Jade

Grade: Extraordinary

Type: Necklace

Durability: 60/60

Attribute Enhancement: Strength +3

Requirements: Strength 15, Constitution 10

Effect: Dragon Aura

Origin: *Ikki Tousen*

Equipment Evaluation: Take it easy—its consumption is higher than you think.

Dragon Aura (Active Skill): Consumes 2 points of spirit, adding a special damage effect to your next attack.

A necklace, one of the rarest types of equipment.

And a top-tier item that enhanced strength—an absolute treasure for reincarnators following the melee path.

Unfortunately, Fang already had “Home of No Return,” which was far more useful, able to heal him and shield him from enemies in critical moments.

In every way, it was superior to this necklace, and Fang’s attributes didn’t even meet the conditions to equip it.

So its fate would be to be sold to other reincarnators.

“Necklaces are too rare. The value could easily increase by a third.”

“If I sell it on the battlefield, the price might go up even more.”

After the second round of exams, Fang planned to sell it to reincarnators from his own faction, certain it would fetch a good price.

Next up was the most valuable item in the box: the Green Dragon Crescent Blade, Guan Yun Chang’s signature weapon.

Item Name: Green Dragon Crescent Blade

Grade: Legendary

Type: Two-handed Weapon

Attack: 15-20

Durability: 180/180

Attribute Enhancement: Strength +5, Spirit +1

Requirements: Strength 28, Constitution 18

Effect: Dragon Slash

Origin: *Ikki Tousen*

Equipment Evaluation: There’s no enemy you can’t kill in one strike. If there is, just swing a second time.

Dragon Slash (Active Skill): Consumes 4 spirit points, releasing a dragon soul attack that deals 140% of your strength.

The female Martial Saint’s weapon—it was amazing that it had dropped.

“What a fine thing,” Fang Bo said, extending his hand to gently stroke its surface.

With a soft golden glow, the Green Dragon Crescent Blade was stored in his King’s Treasury, becoming his personal attack treasure.

Weapon Inventory: 2 (Greatsword “Jimena,” Green Dragon Crescent Blade)

Once he turned the female Martial Saint into a human puppet, he could fully equip her with the Green Dragon Crescent Blade, making her an unparalleled combat force.

To achieve that, he would need more plot points. His current haul was far from enough.

Turning his gaze to the alchemist, whose face had gone ashen, Fang Bo looked at him coldly and said, “Do you know why I haven’t killed you yet?”

The man, knowing his death was inevitable, didn’t bother to respond, lowering his head as he silently awaited the end.

“Because I wanted to kill you with her weapon.”

As soon as the words left his mouth, ripples appeared in the air above, and the golden Green Dragon Crescent Blade materialized once again.

“No, I don’t want to die like this!” The man finally reacted, clearly unhappy with the manner of his death.

But Fang Bo didn’t heed his plea, and the golden crescent blade swiftly decapitated him.

[Your treasure dealt 32 points of damage to the enemy]

[You killed a hostile reincarnator, earning a personal-exclusive kill box]

[You earned 5 battlefield points]

Another 5 points added to the tally, bringing Fang Bo’s total gain from this battle to 20 points.

“Considering the points I earned, I’ll forgive you for stealing the kill.”

Bending down to retrieve the kill box, Fang Bo chose to open it on the spot.

[You are opening the kill box of ID 10720]

[You received 1420 plot points]

[You received 8 Alchemical Bombs]

[You received 3 Alchemical Gas Bombs]

Alchemical Bomb: A one-time use item that deals a large amount of damage in a small area upon explosion.

Alchemical Gas Bomb: A one-time use item that creates a large poison cloud upon explosion.

The items dropped by the alchemist were fairly standard, but the plot points were generous.

Fang Bo suspected this was related to the alchemist’s frequent use of alchemy, similar to how he always needed spare funds for summoning his shikigami.

Plot Points: 4747 (3000 in debt)

“Ah, finally back on my feet,” Fang Bo let out a laugh that wasn’t quite cheerful.

He couldn’t help it—there were too many things requiring funds. Other reincarnators might be overjoyed, but to him, four or five thousand plot points were still far from enough.

Watching his spider soldiers devour the alchemist’s corpse, Fang Bo hoped they would evolve, though it seemed like they were still missing something.

With no other option, he ordered his team to set up defenses while calling Xianglin over.

You never know when the next enemy will show up—it’s best to restore his condition first. After all, he still had to try and repair the automaton’s durability later.

“Come on, lift your shirt,” Fang Bo’s expression was that of a big bad wolf.

And in front of him, Xianglin looked like Little Red Riding Hood, waiting to be devoured.

“Can you, um, not bite there?”

“How about I just leave you here?”

“Then, just be gentle, okay?”

“Don’t worry.”

Gently calming the anxious girl, Fang Bo slowly leaned in and bit down on her shoulder.

Pure chakra continuously surged into his body, rapidly restoring the life and spirit energy he had expended.

In just a few moments, Fang Bo was back to full strength, and then, without hesitation, he tossed Xianglin aside.

This battle had been highly rewarding, especially with the acquisition of a legendary weapon, greatly enriching his King’s Treasury.

Unfortunately, his strength attribute was currently too low to fully unleash the weapon’s power.

If he could increase his strength to its maximum, activating the special effect of the Green Dragon Crescent Blade, a single strike could deal nearly 70 to 80 points of damage.

And with the equipment’s attribute boost, the damage might be even higher.

“Now this is what an A-rank skill should feel like.”

Looking around at the large crowd, Fang Bo, having tasted victory, prepared to go on the offensive, seeing if he could find more enemies.

Like he always said, no matter what schemes people had in the shadows, as long as he killed everyone he encountered, he could break through the situation.

In the forest, a little girl, barely taller than her weapon, was fleeing for her life.

“Ugh…ugh…” Tears streamed down Yaoyao’s dirty face, making her look pitiful and vulnerable.

She was one of the victims of the terrain change. Her team had barely landed when they were ambushed by waiting enemies.

If it weren’t for a tool her sister had given her, she would’ve already died under the enemy’s blade.

Clutching her warhammer, which was taller than she was, Yaoyao kept glancing over her shoulder. She could clearly feel that the enemy hadn’t given up the chase.

Hoisting the warhammer onto her shoulder, she reached into the front pocket of her shirt, fumbling around for a while before finally pulling out something that looked like a small propeller.

Carefully, she placed it on her head, and soon, the little girl wobbled up into the sky.

“I think I can lose them now,” she thought.

Bamboo Dragonfly: A special item that allows the user to fly into the sky.

It was a valuable escape tool, but unfortunately, it was a little slow and required her to escape the enemy’s sight to use it.

Finally getting some distance, Yaoyao eagerly took it out to use.

“I’m out of here!”

Soon, she was a hundred meters high, thinking that no one could reach her at this height.

As she finally escaped danger, the earlier sadness surged back, and the little girl couldn’t help but start wiping away her tears again.

But at that moment, a terrifying sense of danger made her hair stand on end, and she quickly turned to look behind her.

At the far edge of her vision, she saw a tall man.

He had a single black wing on his back and was flying toward her at a speed several times faster than hers.

“Uh-oh,” Yaoyao realized the danger and immediately began trying to lower her altitude.

She hadn’t expected the enemy to have the ability to fly too, and to be even faster than her Bamboo Dragonfly.

Stowing the propeller on her head, Yaoyao jumped onto a giant tree branch, frantically reaching into her belly pouch.

Quickly, she pulled out a transparent paper crane.

This little thing couldn’t help her fight off enemies or escape their pursuit. Its only function was to guide her toward hope.

A hope that could resolve her current crisis.

Seeing it start to move, Yaoyao jumped down to the ground and chased after the paper crane, her feet barely touching the ground as she ran.

A few seconds later, the one-winged man landed, holding an impressively long katana.

After a quick scan, he immediately spotted Yaoyao’s footprints.

“You can’t escape,” he whispered, flapping his wing lightly as he pursued in the same direction.

With his exceptional perception, the man locked onto his target firmly. No amount of distractions could completely shake him off.

“She has so many gadgets,” he thought, skillfully dodging another bomb trap.

Of course, this wasn’t annoyance—rather, it was excitement. The more valuable items his target had, the higher her worth.

Once he killed the little girl, the plot points alone would be plentiful.

In the distance, at the end of the path, he could faintly see the little girl fleeing frantically.

But this time, he didn’t rush forward. Instead, he stopped because there was someone standing ahead.

A man in a black cloak.

A man radiating an overwhelming sense of danger.
