RWWOKS Chapter 175

This entry is part 176 of 186 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Consumed with rage, Sasuke immediately set off to track down Uchiha Itachi. As a former ANBU captain, Itachi knew every secret route through Konoha, effortlessly evading pursuit. ANBU couldn’t find a trace of him, yet Sasuke only had to walk a short distance before spotting that familiar silhouette.

It was as if Itachi was intentionally luring him forward, maintaining a steady pace that kept his brother struggling to catch up. Even with the speed Sasuke had gained from Rock Lee’s training, he was still like a child compared to the power of a ninja of Itachi’s caliber. If Itachi wished, he could dispatch Sasuke with a mere flick of his hand.

Leading his brother to a clearing outside the village, Itachi finally stopped. He wanted to gauge Sasuke’s progress—and, incidentally, give Konoha’s ninja a chance to engage. Without a chance for a “tag-team” assault, it would be difficult for Itachi to retreat without facing Pain’s disapproval. Sasuke’s life was paramount, after all, and Kakashi, unable to locate him, would soon catch up. The entire chase had drawn considerable attention.

“My time is short, Sasuke,” Itachi murmured after a pause, gazing at his brother. “Still as weak as ever, my foolish little brother.”

Fuming, Sasuke attacked with his Chidori, only for Itachi to deflect it effortlessly with a single hand, as if an adult were toying with a child.

The battle of these S-rank rogue ninjas immediately captivated Konoha, drawing the attention of every ninja. At that moment, from the shadows, Kisame Hoshigaki made his move.

“Water Release: Five Feeding Sharks!” With chakra reserves rivaling that of a tailed beast, Kisame conjured a massive wave. If they had been inside Konoha, he might have hesitated, knowing he wasn’t invincible against such numbers. But here, far from the village, he had no such concern.

“It seems the rumors were true—you really are a spy from Sunagakure,” Kisame sneered, interpreting Sasori’s decision to protect the village as confirmation of the recent suspicions.

Kisame understood Sasori’s motives well; after all, he was himself a spy for Uchiha Madara. Both shared similar roles, but today they were opponents. As his water sharks surged forward, Kisame’s true attack followed closely behind.

Bringing his hands together, Kisame released a tidal wave from his mouth, encasing Sasori and others within a massive dome of water.

“Water Release: Great Exploding Water Colliding Wave!”

With chakra-controlled precision, the water formed a massive, oval-shaped sphere, trapping Sasori and many others inside.

“Unbelievable!” Chiyo exclaimed as she arrived on the scene. She had heard tales of the “tailless tailed beast” but had dismissed them as exaggeration. Now, she saw the terrifying reality—Kisame’s chakra transformed him into a shark-like creature that moved effortlessly through water, while she and the others struggled.

“What a monster,” Gaara muttered, wide-eyed. His sand, already heavy, was now even harder to move in the water. He could eventually fill the water prison with sand, but Kisame, merged with his sharkskin sword Samehada, had no intention of dragging the fight out.

“I’ll finish this quickly,” Kisame declared, charging forward to strike.

Dodging Sasori’s puppet strikes and avoiding the strings of “Mother and Father,” Kisame clawed through, piercing Sasori’s body. Normally, this would have ended the battle, but he hadn’t anticipated Sasori’s puppet modification—Sasori’s body remained intact as long as his energy core was unscathed.

Taking advantage of Kisame’s proximity, Sasori sliced him with a concealed blade, releasing a black poison into the water, demonstrating its potent toxicity.

“Time to die, Kisame,” Sasori declared.

But Kisame wasn’t so easily defeated. With Samehada’s unique healing abilities, he could even repair damaged organs. By expelling the poisoned parts, he rendered Sasori’s attack ineffective.

“. . . That guy was right—taking him down won’t be easy on our own,” Sasori muttered, finally acknowledging the threat Kisame posed.

He wished he still had his Third Kazekage puppet. Lacking a powerful puppet had left him at a disadvantage.

Just as Kisame prepared to continue, he sensed a vast sand wave approaching. “A pointless trick,” he scoffed.

“Water Release: A Thousand Feeding Sharks!”

With a swing of his hand, he summoned a thousand shark-shaped water projectiles, creating chaos for his opponents. He aimed to finish the traitor before they dealt with his smaller sharks.

Meanwhile, waves of Konoha ninja were closing in on the battle, including Fang Bo, who watched from a safe distance.

This level of combat was far too dangerous for him. Any stray attack could prove lethal.

While staying out of it might limit his rewards, he had the assurance of Sasori’s promised puppet, his fixed reward that wouldn’t change regardless of his involvement. So, he chose to watch from afar.

As for the outcome of the battle, without intervention, Chiyo, Sasori, and Gaara were likely doomed against Kisame’s might. But this was Konoha, and it had its own hero.

“Oh, and here he comes,” Fang Bo muttered, yawning as he saw a figure blazing with green flames diving into the water dome. The newcomer was none other than Might Guy, Konoha’s greatest taijutsu master.

“Youthful Strong Whirlwind!” With a powerful kick, he nearly sent Kisame flying out of the water prison.

It was a destined clash between rivals, Might Guy and Kisame Hoshigaki.

“Time to move back a bit,” Fang Bo thought as he stood up, ready to avoid the shockwaves from Guy’s attacks. Just then, Yaoyao, floating in the air with her propeller hat, drifted by, and he promptly grabbed her.

Scooping the girl, who protested loudly, he ran for cover.

Soon after, a white shockwave engulfed the area, roaring like a ferocious tiger. With a single blow, Might Guy shattered the supposedly impenetrable water prison from within.

When the dust settled, Kisame lay defeated, unable to resist. Surrounded by so many Leaf ninja, he didn’t even have the chance to take his own life.

Coming with high expectations, he left in chains—captured by Konoha.

[You have significantly altered the fate of the Akatsuki Organization.]

[You have received one Destiny Token.]

Under Fang Bo’s careful orchestration, the Akatsuki organization lost two of its key members even before the tailed beast capture missions had officially begun. In effect, he had entirely altered Akatsuki’s fate, so receiving a Destiny Token as a reward was well-deserved.

“With Kisame taken care of, I wonder how things turned out on the other side.”

In the other battle, the sudden arrival of Jiraiya forced Uchiha Itachi to retreat early. Originally, Itachi had planned to check on Kisame’s situation, but with Jiraiya present, he now had to prioritize his own survival.

Before Jiraiya’s arrival, however, Itachi had nearly wiped the floor with every Jōnin present—even Kakashi was left incapacitated, caught in the grip of Tsukuyomi’s effects. Facing his former ANBU superior, Itachi did not underestimate him and instead used Tsukuyomi to swiftly end the encounter.

The other ninjas, especially those with unique abilities, posed no real threat to him. That included the Reincarnators, who had attempted to gang up on this infamous Uchiha clan killer, only to be ruthlessly repelled, losing a few of their own in the process.

For the first time, Akatsuki’s power left an indelible impression on the Reincarnators. But even so, Itachi ultimately chose to retreat. His health wouldn’t allow for a prolonged battle, and a Sannin like Jiraiya was no easy opponent.

After casting one last glance at Sasuke, Itachi’s figure vanished into the mist.

[Hidden Task: Akatsuki’s Pursuer (Completed)]

[Calculating results… generating rewards]

[Based on your contribution, you may choose any two rewards from the following options:]

**Option 1: 1000 Plot Points**

**Option 2: 6 Merit Points**

**Option 3: 3 Attribute Points**

**Option 4: Exploding Water Colliding Wave Scroll**

**Option 5: Third Kazekage (Human Puppet)**

Hearing the system’s reward notification, Fang Bo knew the battle had ended on the other side. Casually dropping Yaoyao to the ground, he quickly made his selections for the hidden task rewards.

He allocated all the attribute points to Agility, now only three points shy of maxing it out. As for the Third Kazekage puppet, it replaced the Dragon Cavalryman, giving him the ability to control two puppets simultaneously.

He wasted no time in installing the Dragon Cavalryman’s mechanisms onto the Kazekage puppet. This puppet could host an array of devices, limited only by his imagination, which highlighted the vast difference in craftsmanship between the two puppets.

With the equipment adjustment, his stats also saw a substantial boost:

– **HP:** 340/340 (+150)

– **Status:** Healthy

– **Strength:** 12 (+6)

– **Constitution:** 25 (+6)

– **Agility:** 19 (+3)

– **Spirit:** 36 (+17)

– **Perception:** 25 (+6)

Each time his Spirit attribute increased, he was brought closer to breaking the 40-point threshold.

“I’m just an ordinary one-star Reincarnator, with a few slightly higher stats.”

After stretching and preparing to check on his comrades, Yaoyao eagerly tried to follow him, only for Fang Bo to kick her a few meters away.

“Go play somewhere else.”

Ignoring her cries of “Big Bro!” he arrived at the core battlefield, where Kisame was restrained by the ANBU with his chakra sealed, and Might Guy lay on the ground, exhausted.

Not far off, Sasori and Chiyo leaned on each other, both looking at the green-skinned beast that had caused such chaos with expressions of mixed awe and fear.

That kind of power, capable of destroying everything in its path, was shocking—hundreds of puppets would be swept away all the same. Watching the fight unleashed by Might Guy in the Seventh Gate, Sasori felt a renewed desire to grow stronger.

Having decided to reclaim his identity, Sasori was determined to protect the warmth he had finally found.

Returning the sealed puppet scroll along with the borrowed “Yorichi Zero-Type,” the grandmother and grandson quietly left the scene.

As for Gaara, the young man was deeply shaken, like a frog at the bottom of a well finally seeing the vast world beyond.

“That terrifying attack… even Shukaku wouldn’t be able to withstand it so easily.”

He lowered his head, lost in thought.
