Chapter 18: Shocking Reality
In the Reincarnation Space, basic skills could be purchased directly with plot points.
However, advanced mastery and control skills needed to be obtained from plot worlds.
To equip the *Black Star* handgun, Fang Bo had to upgrade his “Basic Shooting” skill to level 3.
Using his mind to communicate with the tattoo on his wrist, the system’s notification quickly echoed in his mind.
[Successfully learned Basic Shooting, consuming 50 plot points.]
[Successfully upgraded skill: Basic Shooting LV1-LV2, consuming 100 plot points.]
[Successfully upgraded skill: Basic Shooting LV2-LV3, consuming 150 plot points.]
An influx of shooting knowledge filled Fang Bo’s mind, and as he gripped the black handgun, a sense of familiarity washed over him.
It felt as if he were a seasoned driver holding the wheel—each move, each reflex, was second nature.
With only a few plot points left, Fang Bo hesitated, then decided to try upgrading the newly acquired *Heal* skill from the Shield Hero world.
[Successfully upgraded skill: Heal LV1-LV2, consuming 200 plot points.]
Fang Bo winced at the hefty cost but quickly turned his attention to the upgraded effects.
Minimum requirement: 4 Spirit points.
“It only reduced the Spirit cost by 1 point?”
The skill had clearly been improved by reducing its cost, but the price for such a small change felt steep.
He wondered if further upgrades would continue lowering the usage requirements. If he could eventually cast it freely, the investment would be worth it.
With the upgrades complete, Fang Bo’s combat abilities were now significantly stronger.

With less than 400 plot points left, Fang Bo sighed. “I was hoping to buy some potions, but now I barely have enough left for bullets.”
Returning to the central plaza, he decided to visit the merchants specializing in supplies. These vendors offered essential items at prices lower than the system.
The transaction was quick, and Fang Bo’s inventory now held 2,000 rounds of ammunition.
1 plot point could buy 10 handgun bullets—a fair price. Given his need for sustained firepower, Fang Bo bought a large stock in one go.
To recoup some of his losses, he found a Reincarnator shop that dealt in potions and sold off the Titan meat. With the remaining plot points, he also unlocked access to the training center.
Fang Bo had acquired several new abilities, each requiring extensive practice to ensure they wouldn’t fail him in actual combat.
“I just hope using the skills won’t hurt too much.”

In the Real World – A Street Café
Dressed in a black trench coat, Fang Bo quietly sipped his coffe, his eyes burning with a hidden intensity.
After finishing his training, he had unexpectedly discovered a “Return to Reality” option in his room. Intrigued by a theory he had, he decided to check out this so-called reality.
His hunch had been right—the world he now found himself in didn’t contain any of the classic comics he remembered. The popular works on the café’s book shelves were entirely unfamiliar.
“Perfect, now I can rest easy.”
The advantage of knowing storylines was invaluable, and Fang Bo had worried about the possibility of other “competitors” who might have similar knowledge. Now, with that fear put to rest, even the bitter coffee tasted a little sweeter.
However, a sudden notification snapped him out of his thoughts.
[You have been affected by pufferfish toxin and will lose a total of 48 health points over the next 3 minutes. Additional effects: difficulty breathing, limb weakness.]
In this seemingly peaceful world, someone had poisoned him through his coffee?!
A sharp sense of danger surged through Fang Bo. A prickling pain at the back of his neck alerted him that a gun was now aimed at him.
With his *Black Star* handgun equipped, his perception had reached an impressive 12 points—enough to sense even the presence of a weapon aimed at him.
**Bang!**
Just as he jumped from his seat, the café’s glass window shattered.
In mid-air, Fang Bo locked onto the source of the gunshot using his heightened perception.
It came from a second-floor room in the hotel across the street, seventh window from the left.
“I don’t know who the enemy is yet, so I won’t retaliate for now,” Fang Bo remained calm, as though accustomed to battles of life and death.
As the nearby crowd screamed and scattered, Fang Bo easily blended into them, moving with the flow of panicked pedestrians. Within moments, he slipped into a run-down residential area.
Even though the sense of danger still lingered, Fang Bo knew he hadn’t fully shaken his pursuers. It didn’t matter—there were only 20 seconds left before the toxin would wear off.
The enemy hadn’t rushed to catch up, probably waiting for him to succumb to the poison. That worked in Fang Bo’s favor, giving him a moment of relief.
“When I have more money, I definitely need to carry antidotes on me.” Pulling out a juicy steak, Fang Bo grimaced as he began to chew.
Since the enemy’s identity was still unknown—and possibly another Reincarnator—it was safer to replenish his lost health right away.
The space had strict rules against exposing Reincarnator abilities to ordinary people, so Fang Bo couldn’t use the *Titan Summoning* skill or his omni-directional gear here.
By choosing this remote neighborhood, he could hide more easily. If things escalated, he could always resort to using his Titan abilities.
If ordinary people witnessed something, Fang Bo would have no choice but to kill them, as the space enforced severe penalties for exposure.
As his health quickly restored, Fang Bo smirked—a grin filled with the wicked humor of a predator watching his prey.
Elsewhere, a group of young men entered the neighborhood. After glancing around briefly, they headed straight for the building where Fang Bo was hiding.
**Beep, beep, beep!**
Hearing static in his earpiece, a blond-haired thug chuckled and spoke into his mic. “Target confirmed. Moving in to execute the final clean-up.”
He turned to his companions and added, “Find number seven, even if it’s just his corpse.”
“Yes, sir!”
“Be careful. After all, he’s an esper, just like us.”
