RWWOKS Chapter 181

This entry is part 182 of 186 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

*[You significantly altered Lee Rock’s fate.]

*[You obtained a Fate Token.]

Looking at the coin in his hand, Fang Bo’s smile grew noticeably brighter.

This was an unexpected surprise. Fang Bo had only intended for Kimimaro to casually select some targets, never expecting the guy to actively pick Lee Rock as his focus.

Perhaps Lee’s outstanding performance in the second round had left such an impression that even Kimimaro remembered the thick-browed, bright-eyed boy.

The process of creating malevolent spirits was bound to change many fates. If it involved key supporting characters, it would inevitably earn a reward for toying with destiny.

With this in mind, Fang Bo compiled a list the next day, providing a rough reference for his plans.

Since he had no authority to command Kimimaro, Fang Bo was merely gambling on luck.

If it worked out, great. If not, it didn’t matter much; Konoha was now on high alert, and nighttime operations had become highly risky.

Fang Bo’s instincts proved accurate. In the last few days, Konoha had imposed a strict curfew.

Even the mighty King of Spirits had no opportunity to act. Anyone caught out at night was immediately interrogated by the Anbu.

Left with no choice, Fang Bo had to halt the creation of malevolent spirits earlier than planned.

Before long, the third exam began. Early in the morning, Yaoyao violently pounded on his door.

“Big Brother, wake up! Today, we’re going to win the championship!”

Compared to the little girl’s excitement, Fang Bo remained notably calm.

Yawning, he splashed his face with water, made himself a cup of milk, and lazily ate a piece of bread from his spatial storage.

“Big Brother.”

“Ah, what a beautiful morning.”

“Big Brother.”

Seeing the fuming little girl, Fang Bo rolled his eyes. “You do know the official matches start at noon, right?”

“Eh?!” Yaoyao looked dumbfounded, completely unaware of this change.

In fact, this was a last-minute decision made not long ago.

To accommodate the malevolent spirits, the exam had been rescheduled for noon.

With Orochimaru, disguised as the Kazekage, making the request, Konoha had no choice but to comply.

Everyone else knew, but Yaoyao—having just returned—was out of the loop.

Who told her to abandon her Sand allies and insist on staying at the Sound’s hotel?

For Fang Bo’s sake, no one would trouble a 14-year-old girl, but they also weren’t going out of their way to inform her.

If not for this, she wouldn’t have come pounding on his door so early.

“I see,” Yaoyao nodded, then stretched out her small, fair hand. “I haven’t eaten yet, Big Brother.”

“…” Moved by her goodwill, Fang Bo handed her some fried chicken and fries.

“Big Brother, you shouldn’t eat greasy food in the morning.”

“Don’t want it? Then starve.”

“Actually, I do like fries.”

Despite her earlier complaints, Yaoyao devoured everything Fang Bo gave her.

Leaning back in her chair, the little girl suddenly said seriously, “If we end up facing each other today, I’ll just forfeit.”

“No need. I still want to test out that dimensional bag.”

“…Big Brother, you’re definitely single.”

Their banter passed the time, and soon it was time for the matches to begin.

To ensure fairness, transparency, and impartiality, the third exam employed a random draw system.

Due to various incidents, the number of participants had dwindled to just fourteen.

Among them, the only main storyline characters left were Gaara, Sasuke, and Naruto. Lee and Temari had dropped out for specific reasons.

The remaining eleven were all reincarnators.

**Participants by village:**

– **Sand:** Fang Bo, Yaoyao, Black Soul, Yoder

– **Leaf:** Nightingale, Lark

– **Mist:** Ryuxian, Jizo

– **Cloud:** Aired

– **Stone:** Stoss, Azure Moon

Standing in the contestant tunnel, Fang Bo gazed at the arena, feeling a rising excitement.

To him, all these participants were walking plot points. Taking down a few could earn enough points for an entire storyline.

Although 20,000 plot points in his pocket seemed like a lot, they wouldn’t go far.

For instance, upgrading the S-rank skill **Yin Seal** to MAX required a whopping 78,000 points. Even the A-rank **Treasury of Kings** needed tens of thousands, not to mention other skills like **Battle Aura Sense**, which were waiting for upgrades.

Strengthening himself further was essential to facing future challenges. He couldn’t forget the orphanage that still had its sights set on his life.

According to Olsen, the Chosen One was heading to the **King of Fighters 2000** world. There was a chance they’d clash directly.

Although this youth with a mythical-level talent had only experienced three storyline worlds, it was worth noting that they were already a powerful superhuman in the real world.

Such a person couldn’t be judged by conventional standards.

Fang Bo had enough confidence in his growth speed to believe no one could outpace him. But preparation was key.

For now, he decided to focus on leveling the **Treasury of Kings** to an advanced state, leaving **Yin Seal** for later.

“Making money sure is tough,” Fang Bo sighed.

As he lamented, Konoha’s organizers announced the updated rules:

Anyone who won two consecutive matches would be recognized as a Chūnin by all villages.

This meant victory in the final match wasn’t mandatory.

As the crowd murmured, the first match’s contestants entered the arena: **Ryuxian from Mist vs. Aired from Cloud.**

Ryuxian, surrounded by murmurs of disdain, clearly wasn’t popular.

Aired, however, was an extraordinary combatant with the legendary **Dragon’s Heart** ability, known as the Flame Dragon Slayer.

Truthfully, Fang Bo favored Aired to win.

But the match unfolded in an unexpected way.

From the start, Ryuxian dominated the fight with expert kiting tactics.

In truth, Ryuxian wasn’t doing anything particularly clever—just firing arrows repeatedly and evading with flying scythe kicks when approached.

By executing this simple strategy to perfection, he became nearly invincible. If things got dicey, he could retreat into the Shadow Realm to recover.

“Wow, isn’t this unbeatable?” Yaoyao said, visibly uneasy.

As someone who relied on brute force, she dreaded facing such tactics. The hit-and-run strategy felt especially unfair.

“Not necessarily,” Fang Bo remarked, eyeing the burns on Ryuxian’s arm. “That strange ability probably has a cooldown, or he wouldn’t have been hit by the dragon breath earlier.”

Others noticed too, including Aired, who reignited his fighting spirit.

Every Holy Arrow fired by Ryuxian inflicted over 30 points of damage. The cumulative effect was overwhelming.

Seeing his ranged attacks were effective, Aired activated his dragon transformation, intending to overwhelm Ryuxian with consecutive dragon breaths.

“This is what I was waiting for,” Ryuxian muttered, nocking an arrow and unleashing his ultimate move.

**Rain of Light!**

A torrent of arrows engulfed the flame dragon.

115 arrows in total. Even if each inflicted minimal damage individually, their combined power was devastating.

Though Aired’s wings blocked some of the barrage, many arrows pierced his dragon form.

With a roar of anguish, the dragon fell to the ground, and Aired was forced to surrender.

After three seconds, the protective mechanism successfully triggered, leaving Ryuxian with no choice but to curse his opponent’s cowardice.

Amidst the jeers of the crowd, the Quincy emerged victorious in the first battle.

“Damn,” came a voice from afar—Yoder the Ghost Sword. Clearly, he was still hung up on his vendetta.

“Well, it’s just as well. This increases the chances I’ll face him,” Fang Bo mused.

At that moment, a sudden gasp erupted from the crowd. Fang Bo turned his head to see Gaara’s face prominently displayed on the big screen.

Even he couldn’t help feeling unsettled.

If he were chosen to face Gaara, it’d be a tough match. Losing wasn’t the issue—it was that he wouldn’t be able to openly rack up points.

When Konoha’s destruction plan was set in motion, it might become much harder to deal with enemy reincarnators.

With tense anticipation, Fang Bo watched as a familiar name appeared on the screen.

**Match 2: Gaara of the Sand vs. Black Soul of the Sand.**

A battle between a key plot character and a reincarnator—it was bound to be dramatic.

Black Soul walked silently down from the contestant seating area. Despite knowing the odds were against him, he still wanted to try his best.

The battle began quickly.

At first, the sight of his black flame-infused sword piercing through Gaara’s sand shield gave Black Soul a fleeting hope of victory.

But that hope was swiftly extinguished by Gaara himself.

In less than two minutes, Gaara’s sand enveloped Black Soul layer by layer, rendering him completely immobile and unable to continue fighting.

Had they not been from the same village, Gaara might have painted the arena red with his blood.

“Match 2 winner: Gaara!”

After this predictable battle, the next match-up drew considerably more attention.

Sasuke Uchiha, fresh from his training, stepped onto the arena. His opponent was the reincarnator codenamed “Nightingale.”

Fang Bo immediately recognized her as the one-winged angel he’d encountered before.

Judging by appearances, she was an agility-based fighter. Many expected an intense and prolonged duel, but the match lasted a mere 28 seconds.

In a flash, Nightingale was struck in the shoulder by Sasuke’s Chidori.

**Match 3 winner: Sasuke Uchiha.**

Amidst the crowd’s uproar, Sasuke casually returned to the stands, his demeanor cool and collected.

The result left many displeased, especially the reincarnators in the Leaf faction, who had been counting on Nightingale to earn some points.

“Damn it! At this rate, we’ll never catch up to the Sand faction!”

“Don’t worry—the real heavyweights haven’t fought yet.”

“Hmph, let’s hope he can deliver and doesn’t end up like that loser who got taken out so easily.”

With that, many eyes turned to the Sand faction.

By now, Fang Bo’s actions were no longer a secret.

Of course, he never intended to hide them. At this stage of the spatial war, he no longer cared about the opinions of the reincarnators.

If not for the potential points, Fang Bo wouldn’t even bother with the upcoming matches.

He’d rather focus on figuring out how to secure greater gains elsewhere.

The fourth match was announced, and Fang Bo’s face appeared on the big screen.

The atmosphere grew tense as most of the reincarnators visibly stiffened. They knew all too well how formidable he was.

Being at the top of the points leaderboard wasn’t something achieved by luck.

If anyone was matched against him, their outcome wouldn’t likely be much better than the previous contestants.

“Please don’t let it be me,” Yaoyao murmured under her breath.

She’d rather fight a complete stranger than face her own brother. After all, having relied on him for so long, she knew better than anyone just how terrifying he could be.

Fortunately for her, her fears didn’t materialize. The screen displayed a name unfamiliar to most: **Jizo of the Mist.**

“Who’s that?”

“No idea.”

Most reincarnators were clueless about Jizo’s abilities, assuming he must be a relatively weak opponent.

Only Fang Bo’s gaze turned slightly serious.

One thing was clear—the “Crane” character emblazoned on Jizo’s chest said it all.
