RWWOKS Chapter 183

This entry is part 184 of 186 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

The scene unfolding on the battlefield left all the reincarnators in stunned silence.

A one-time-use confinement item—regardless of its value, its rarity alone was comparable to high-end accessory equipment.

At this stage of the war, most rankings were unlikely to shift significantly.

To many, it seemed utterly unnecessary to go to such lengths.

“So what if you win? Do you think you’ll get some extraordinary reward?”

Fang Bo thought similarly. The only reason he persisted was to collect a few more loot chests.

[War Mission 4: Rank Top 10 in Battlefield Points]
[War Mission 5: Achieve 1st Place in Battlefield Points]

Even if he did nothing, he could still complete both remaining missions with ease.

When Yaoyao returned, brimming with pride, Fang Bo immediately pulled her aside.

“Why waste such a precious item?”

The little girl blinked innocently and fibbed without hesitation. “I just wanted to win alongside Big Brother!”

“Tell the truth.”

“Oh, Big Sis said the Chūnin title is pretty cool, so she told me to get it.”

Fang Bo sighed and tossed her to the side before retrieving the loot chest dropped by Jizo.

After all, he intended to make the semifinals, and once he did, the title would naturally come his way without extra effort.

[You are opening the loot chest from ID 11367.]
[You obtained 1560 Plot Points.]
[You obtained Dododonpa Scroll.]
[You obtained Flight Technique Scroll.]

Dododonpa (D-Rank Active Skill): Consumes 4 Spirit Points to create a concentrated energy beam at your fingertip, dealing 135% damage.

Flight Technique (E-Rank Active Skill): Allows energy manipulation to achieve flight, consuming 1 Spirit Point per second. Flight speed depends on energy expenditure.

D-Rank skills were standard in mid-tier worlds, making them easily sellable, though their value would vary.

The effectiveness of such attack skills depended not just on energy consumption but also on the damage multiplier.

Spending 10 Spirit Points for a 135% boost versus a 200% boost was an entirely different matter.

Dododonpa’s effectiveness, much like Tao Pai Pai’s version, depended on the user. Jizo’s rendition couldn’t even break Fang Bo’s Dragon Slash Blade Aura, highlighting its limitations.

“Low-tier skills consume little energy but have low damage multipliers, while high-tier skills boast massive damage but drain your Spirit Points dry with each use.”

This was why Fang Bo never bothered learning high-power skills.

Even without his Memory Armor’s mimicry function, his combination of Shikigami, healing spells, and Treasury of Kings allowed him to output respectable damage consistently.

One-hit kills were satisfying, but failure often meant disaster.

Current Plot Points: 22,384 (3,000 debt)

Even accounting for his debt, his remaining points fell just short of 20,000. Selling off everything in his inventory might allow him to upgrade an A-Rank skill by five or six levels.

“Every three levels unlock a skill enhancement node. I need to get Treasury of Kings to Level 6, at least.”

He wished he could max it out directly, but only if enough points remained for his other skills.

“Ah, I’ll decide later.”

The next round began, featuring Yoder, the Sand Village’s star swordsman, against Cang Yue, a reincarnator equipped with a Sea Fighter’s Scale Armor.

Fang Bo dubbed this match the most brutal battle yet.

In raw strength, Yoder the Ghost Swordsman held an overwhelming advantage, dominating the fight from the start.

His near-invisible high-speed slashes left Cang Yue utterly disoriented.

Were it not for the scale armor’s damage reduction, even two Cang Yues wouldn’t have lasted long under Yoder’s relentless assault.

Yet this very armor provided Cang Yue with a chance to retaliate.

When he unleashed the Frozen Fist of North Siberia, not even Yoder’s Demonic Hand could mitigate the damage.

Encased entirely in ice, Yoder seemed defeated.

Everyone believed this was Cang Yue’s victory.

But once again, the unexpected occurred.

From within the lifelike ice sculpture, a faint milky-white glow emerged, forming an ethereal image of Yoder.

The figure exuded an indescribable malevolence.

Blade Soul Kazan: Sinister Surge!

The oppressive aura sent Cang Yue into a panic. Without hesitation, he activated the scale armor’s ultimate defensive skill.

Instantly, a cosmic aura of unfathomable depth enveloped him, rendering him seemingly untouchable.

Even prodigies like Neji Hyūga couldn’t break through the Sea Scale Armor’s absolute defense. Many assumed Yoder’s attacks would meet the same fate.

What they didn’t realize was that Yoder wasn’t aiming to cut down a mere body.

No matter the cost, he would sever his opponent’s soul.

Heart Blade: Asura Sinister Slash!

Evil Yoder swung his blade, unleashing a massive crescent slash that seemed to cleave the heavens and earth.

Cang Yue tried to counter with his frozen fists, but they did nothing to weaken the devastating attack.

As the blade tore through his chest, he felt a chill far deeper than Siberia’s icy winds.

[You received a Heart Blade attack, taking 142 points of soul damage.]

Having already been worn down, Cang Yue couldn’t withstand such an overwhelming blow.

“You…” He raised his arm weakly, but his life faded as the blade retreated.

With a heavy thud, the Sea Fighter’s lifeless body collapsed to the ground.

In the end, Yoder emerged victorious.

Breaking free from the ice, Yoder stretched briefly, then cast a disdainful glance at the corpse.

“Blades cut the body, hearts sever the soul. Such is the essence of my master’s swordsmanship.”

“Mundane trinkets can’t hope to stop it.”

Amid the crowd’s awestruck silence, Yoder retrieved his loot chest and returned to the contestants’ seating area.

“Impressive,” Fang Bo remarked, offering rare praise.

Though Yoder’s performance had been overshadowed by other top-tier players in this spatial war, today’s battle validated his title as the Sand Village’s ace.

Six contestants had now advanced to the next round:

Mist Village: Ryuxian

Sand Village: Gaara, Fang Bo, Yaoyao, Yoder

Leaf Village: Sasuke Uchiha

The remaining matches would feature Iwagakure’s Stoss and the protagonist Naruto Uzumaki.

As for the unfortunate Cloud Village faction, they were entirely wiped out—an outcome stemming from their unlucky grouping with the powerhouse Sand Village.

Their disastrous performance in the Forest of Death had severely weakened them.

Even their last strong contender had just fallen to the Quincy’s arrows.

Cloud’s misfortune seemed endless, plagued by underhanded schemes.

Now, the reincarnator who had caused so much trouble for others was about to step into the arena, facing a lucky underdog who had barely scraped into the finals.

While few liked Stoss, notorious for his cunning and manipulative nature, the crowd erupted in mocking jeers as soon as he appeared.

“Stoss, your mom’s funeral’s today!”
“Get ready for the feast!”
“Go, underdog, take him down!”
“Hit him where it hurts—he’ll love it!”

Stoss himself said nothing, but Naruto fumed nearby, yelling angrily.

“I hate being called an underdog!”

“Hmph, I’m not the same as I was before.”

Without Orochimaru’s seal interfering or the Nine-Tails’ chakra causing disruptions, Naruto could finally wield his own power.

[Naruto Uzumaki (Disciple of the Sannin)]
[Attack Tendency: None]
[Attribute Focus: Constitution, Spirit]
[Traits: Uzumaki Bloodline, ???, ???]
[Threat Assessment: Slightly Inferior]

Uzumaki Bloodline: A rare bloodline partially awakened, increasing Spirit by 20% and HP by 25%.

“Well, two question marks again. This lousy equipment really needs replacing,” Fang Bo muttered.

He wasn’t alone in his thoughts. Around him, reincarnators began murmuring.

“What’s going on? How did this kid’s stats change so drastically?!”
“This doesn’t add up—wasn’t he just a dead-last?”
“When did he become a Sannin’s disciple?”
“This sudden pre-battle power spike feels… oddly familiar.”

While the crowd puzzled over the transformation, the match began in earnest.

Seemingly aware of the difficulty of his opponent, Naruto immediately employed his signature Shadow Clone Jutsu.

Over a dozen clones swarmed the battlefield, converging on the enemy at the center.

“A swarm tactic, huh?” Stoss scoffed, pulling out a card featuring a lion-bodied, eagle-headed beast with wings.

Card Summon: Phantom Griffin!

Riding the griffin, he soared high into the air and began firing precision shots with a firearm.

However, ranged combat wasn’t Stoss’s forte. Despite his seemingly sharp aim, his shots were easily intercepted or dodged.

On the rare occasion he landed a hit, it was only on one of Naruto’s clones.

The battle dragged on, with neither side gaining the upper hand. Yet the audience didn’t seem to mind—they relished the spectacle of such a rare fight.

“This guy’s tougher than I thought,” Stoss muttered with a bitter smile. His mount was beginning to show signs of fatigue.

The griffin had to continuously circle above while evading the barrage of shuriken launched from below.

Enhanced by Naruto’s considerable chakra reserves, the shuriken hit harder than bullets. If they struck true, the phantom griffin would have already been sent back to the Yu-Gi-Oh! world.

After several more minutes, Stoss realized he couldn’t keep this up. He ordered the griffin to land, determined to eliminate all the shadow clones in one move.

Drawing a one-time-use rare trap card, Stoss activated it with a smirk.

Killing his target outright was too much trouble, especially with the interference of nearby Leaf ninjas. A better strategy, inspired by the little girl earlier, was to simply eject the troublesome opponent from the arena.

This was a tournament, not a fight to the death, and the rules allowed for creative strategies like this.

As Stoss activated the card, a black hole appeared in the densest cluster of shadow clones.

Caught off guard, many clones were instantly sucked into the vortex.

“Damn it!” Even Naruto’s original body was pulled in.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Stoss relaxed, finally rid of his annoying opponent.

But just as he began to celebrate, hundreds of shadow clones poured out of the black hole’s entrance.

Although the card was still active, it couldn’t absorb the seemingly endless tide of clones fast enough.

Seizing the moment, Naruto charged forward, delivering two solid punches that left Stoss’s face bruised and swollen.

Not stopping there, Naruto grabbed hold of his opponent with both hands, trying to force him to end the strange jutsu.

“Stop it already!” Naruto shouted.

“Let go of me! I can’t stop it!” Stoss was practically in tears.

“You idiot! If you can’t stop it, why use it?!”

“It won’t kill you! It’ll just send you to—”

BANG!

Before Stoss could finish his sentence, the exhausted griffin crashed into both of them.

By the time the Leaf’s Jōnin attempted to intervene, both fighters had vanished from the arena.

Shiranui Genma was left dumbfounded, unsure how to declare a winner.

After a brief moment of deliberation, he announced that both combatants were eliminated.
