RWWOKS Chapter 192

This entry is part 193 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Fang Bo opened his personal panel, ready to engage in a wave of skill upgrades.

The spoils from the recent space war had left him flush with Story Points, and strengthening his skills would push his combat power to the next level.

“First up: Yin Seal. I’ll need to level this at least twice.”

[Skill upgrade successful: Yin Seal LV1 → LV2, consumed 2000 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: Yin Seal LV2 → LV3, consumed 3000 Story Points.]

Passive Skill: Yin Seal LV3
Effect: Stores 20 Spirit Points.

Remaining Story Points: 23,384

“Each level adds 5 points to storage capacity?”

For Spirit-focused reincarnators, the Yin Seal was the ultimate temptation. Fang Bo felt the allure of pouring all his Story Points into it to achieve Spirit freedom.

But clarity prevailed. There were other skills to enhance, and even dumping all his remaining points into Yin Seal wouldn’t push it far enough to justify the cost.

Instead, Fang Bo opted to prioritize improving King’s Treasury, aiming to unlock additional skill effects.

[Skill upgrade successful: King’s Treasury LV1 → LV2, consumed 800 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: King’s Treasury LV2 → LV3, consumed 1200 Story Points.]

LV3 Effect: Resonance. Each Spirit Point expended can now summon two Noble Phantasms simultaneously.

“Hmm?” Fang Bo’s eyebrows rose at the LV3 effect.

Instead of boosting damage as he’d expected, the upgrade reduced Spirit consumption—a critical efficiency boost.

With eight Noble Phantasms stored in the Treasury, using them in a full volley currently drained 8 Spirit Points. Activating special abilities like the Dragon Slash of the Crescent Azure Dragon Blade tacked on an additional 4 points, bringing the total to 12 Spirit Points per volley.

At that rate, he’d run dry after just three rounds of attacks.

This problem would only worsen as he acquired more Phantasms, escalating the Spirit cost. The Resonance effect couldn’t have come at a better time.

With it, Spirit consumption for a full volley dropped to 4 points, effectively doubling his sustained combat capability.

Encouraged by this result, Fang Bo eagerly pushed forward with further upgrades.

[Skill upgrade successful: King’s Treasury LV3 → LV4, consumed 1600 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: King’s Treasury LV4 → LV5, consumed 2000 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: King’s Treasury LV5 → LV6, consumed 2400 Story Points.]

LV6 Effect: King’s Might. Enhances the final damage of all Noble Phantasms by 10 points.

Remaining Story Points: 15,384

The King’s Might effect translated to an additional 70 damage across Fang Bo’s seven offensive Phantasms.

In a first-tier world, where most reincarnators without a Constitution specialization had less than 200 HP, this enhancement alone could deal a third of their total health.

Even though each individual upgrade seemed minor, the cumulative effect was game-changing. A single volley could now potentially one-shot opponents.

With the mythical-tier Kusanagi Sword, for example, a regular attack now dealt over 80 damage, enough to cripple most foes. A critical hit? That would almost certainly spell instant defeat.

King’s Treasury (Level 6)

Grade: A
Weapon Storage: 8 (e.g., Greatsword “Himena,” Crescent Azure Dragon Blade, Elemental Splinter Hammer, Shadow Moon Fork, Thunder God’s Sword, Solar Lock, Blood Moon Battle Axe, Kusanagi Sword)

Effect: Converts epic-grade weapons and above into Noble Phantasms for targeted attacks.

SP Cost per Activation: 1

Requirements: Spirit 30, Perception 25

Origin: Fate/Stay Night

Skill Review: Supreme suppression ability. The skill’s power directly correlates to your wealth.

Level 3 Effect: Resonance – Each Spirit Point summons two Phantasms simultaneously.
Level 6 Effect: King’s Might – Increases the final damage of all Phantasms by 10 points.

Admiring the newly enhanced skill effects, Fang Bo couldn’t help but feel a flicker of excitement. If Yao Yao and the others hadn’t already left, he’d have loved to test his damage output on a live target.

With 15,000 Story Points remaining, he decided to pause further upgrades to King’s Treasury and turned his attention to Heal, his long-time lifesaving skill.

The success of the recent space war was in no small part thanks to Heal. Normally overlooked, it had proven indispensable in critical moments.

Initially, he’d planned to max it out upon returning, but the addition of two high-consumption skills meant he had to settle for upgrading it to Level 9 for now.

[Skill upgrade successful: Heal LV6 → LV7, consumed 2800 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: Heal LV7 → LV8, consumed 3200 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: Heal LV8 → LV9, consumed 3600 Story Points.]

Heal (Level 9)

Grade: B
Effect: Sacrifice your own life force to restore 170% of a target’s HP.

SP Cost: 2

Requirements: Spirit 15

Origin: Redo of Healer

Skill Review: Transfers the target’s pain directly to the caster, resulting in excruciating feedback.

Level 3 Effect: Leech – Consumes 3 Spirit Points to drain the target’s life force through continuous contact (7 HP/sec).
Level 6 Effect: Deteriorate – Consumes 3 Spirit Points to ignore resistance and inflict the negative states Tendon Sever, Burn, and Fragile.
Level 9 Effect: Absorb – Through the caster’s experience of the target’s pain, gain skill experience for one of the target’s basic abilities.

The upgrades brought the following changes:

Reduced Spirit Consumption: SP cost for healing dropped to 2 points.

Enhanced Leeching: Life force drained per second increased from 4 to 7 points. With bonus effects from his bracers, the total reached 14 points/sec.

New Negative State – Fragile: Targets under Deteriorate now took an additional 20% damage.

New Effect – Absorb: Healing now allowed Fang Bo to gain skill experience in one of the target’s basic abilities, capped at the target’s own experience level.

This final effect, Absorb, was especially intriguing.

Even if Fang Bo didn’t possess the skill, he could gain experience in it simply by healing someone proficient in that area.

For example, constantly healing Kimimaro could grant Fang Bo combat experience, eventually leveling his Basic Melee Combat LV5 to MAX and unlocking the advanced skill Melee Mastery.

“Unfortunately, it only works for basic skills. If it could absorb special techniques, this would’ve been perfect.”

Still, the possibilities were tantalizing. With the right target, he could master precise marksmanship or even enhance his melee capabilities.

In the King of Fighters world, Fang Bo could attempt to absorb Basic Melee Combat experience, turning himself into a capable martial artist ready for hand-to-hand combat.

“If I can max out my Strength in the next storyline, I might seriously rethink my battle style.”

Of course, there was the matter of his puppets occupying his equipment slots. Without additional space, a full combat style shift might remain out of reach.

“Unless… I can convince Yao Yao to hand over that Bead Manipulation ability.”

Learning Bead Manipulation would mean Fang Bo could completely free his puppets.

They wouldn’t even need to occupy equipment slots—instead, he could feed them to King’s Treasury.

When needed, he could summon them from the treasury to fight independently. Fang Bo wouldn’t have to micromanage them.

Once their task was done, the puppets would return to the treasury like any other Noble Phantasm.

This setup would completely free his hands, potentially opening up countless new and exciting combat strategies.

Remaining Story Points: 5784

With not enough points to max out any skills, Fang Bo decided to pause his upgrades.

There was still the matter of stocking up on essential puppet repair materials, which would require a significant investment.

If he overspent, he couldn’t just keep borrowing from others, could he?

“I heard some reincarnator teams offer enhancement loans?”

Loans required binding contracts, with automatic deductions after a set time. Otherwise, the equipment had to be handed over as collateral.

Typically, only large teams offered such services, catering to reincarnators in desperate need of Story Points.

The potential returns were substantial, but the risks were just as high.

In the reincarnation space, death was a constant threat.

When someone dies, their debts die with them. Teams couldn’t exactly track down the deceased’s family to collect.

“If they knew about my conflict with the Nest of Sound, I doubt anyone would lend to me,” Fang Bo thought with a smirk as he left his home.

Soon, he purchased over a thousand points’ worth of repair materials, enough to cover his next storyline world.

Total Cost: 1240 Story Points.

“What a rip-off,” Fang Bo muttered to himself.

With just two puppets to maintain, the expense was already substantial. If he added more in the future, it’d be financially unsustainable.

“Storing them in the treasury is definitely more cost-effective. At least I wouldn’t have to worry about durability.”

Remaining Story Points: 4544

“I need a better plan.”

With materials restocked, Fang Bo considered upgrading a few other skills.

Perception had always been a cornerstone of his strategy.

From tracking targets and dodging attacks to fighting blind in the dark or locking onto enemies from afar, perception was indispensable.

Given the nature of the King of Fighters world, enhancing Aura Perception felt like a prudent move.

In the Naruto world, he’d learned from discussions with other experts that passive skills could evolve over time.

Though unique, higher-tier versions of similar skills could replace older ones, with the potential to merge experience points into the new skill.

For instance, if Fang Bo acquired Observation Haki, it would overwrite Aura Perception.

Since the principles were the same, part of the experience could transfer to the new skill.

This insight fueled Fang Bo’s goal of obtaining an Observation Haki skill book, though he had yet to see one for sale.

Of course, his wishlist didn’t end there. If the skill book remained elusive, Fang Bo planned to return to the One Piece world someday. Taking on its powerhouses might just yield the prize he sought.

Motivated by the potential, Fang Bo returned to his room and began upgrading Aura Perception.

[Skill upgrade successful: Aura Perception LV1 → LV2, consumed 240 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: Aura Perception LV2 → LV3, consumed 360 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: Aura Perception LV3 → LV4, consumed 480 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: Aura Perception LV4 → LV5, consumed 600 Story Points.]
[Skill upgrade successful: Aura Perception LV5 → LV6, consumed 720 Story Points.]

Remaining Story Points: 2144

“Back to square one,” Fang Bo sighed, flopping onto his couch like a corpse.

“Who could this be?”

As Fang Bo stared in shock, an unexpected guest stepped through the door.
