RWWOKS Chapter 205

This entry is part 206 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

On the other side, Fang Bo encountered a true powerhouse.

The man who appeared before him was none other than one of the three clones that would later cause chaos at the King of Fighters tournament—Kyo Kusanagi No. 1.

[Kyo Kusanagi No. 1 (Elite Type)]

[Attack Inclination: High]

[Attribute Inclination: Strength, Agility, Spirit]

[Traits: Kusanagi Bloodline, Mechanical Modifications]

[Threat Level: Moderate Pressure]

Based on the threat assessment, No. 1’s combat ability seemed to be on par with Mai Shiranui’s.

To determine who was stronger, a real fight was necessary.

“You’re out of your league.” No. 1 tightened his gauntlets, waved his hand to signal his subordinates to deal with the Ghost Spiders.

“You have no idea who you’re up against.”

After saying that, his figure suddenly appeared in front of the Ghost Spider, so fast that even the Ghost Mother, Yinhime, couldn’t react in time.

From the surveillance footage, No. 1 deduced that this half-human, half-spider creature was the key target of the enemy’s protection.

To save the most important target—that was a basic tactical principle.

With a single move, No. 1 executed his perfected killing technique, 荒咬 (Feral Bite), followed by a series of devastating attacks: 九伤 (Nine Wounds), and finished with 八锖 (Eight Blows) to end the combo.

[The Ghost Spider received 58 points of burning damage from Kyo Kusanagi No. 1’s Feral Bite.]

[The Ghost Spider received 65 points of burning damage from Kyo Kusanagi No. 1’s Nine Wounds.]

[The Ghost Spider received 71 points of burning damage from Kyo Kusanagi No. 1’s Eight Blows.]

The consecutive critical hits caused a terrifying 194 points of damage. Fortunately, Yinhime’s health was substantial, and had it been any other Ghost Spider, they would have been killed instantly.

“Still not dead?” No. 1 was slightly surprised, then his arm flared with even hotter crimson flames.

If this attack landed, there was no doubt the Ghost Mother, Yinhime, would be instantly vaporized.

At the critical moment, Fang Bo, having just dealt with a batch of mass-produced clones, moved like lightning and positioned himself between the attack and the summoner.

He swiftly grabbed his cloak and activated the energy shield of his Memory Armor.

The next second, the terrifying red flames rushed toward them like fiery serpents.

MAX Super Special Move: Crimson Sky Exorcism!

The flames relentlessly crashed against the energy shield. Fang Bo staggered, his body starting to slide uncontrollably backward.

Luckily, the summoner’s barrier blocked the brunt of the attack. Without her interference, even if the energy shield hadn’t been breached, he would have lost his footing and failed to defend.

After about two seconds, the scorching red flames gradually subsided, allowing both Fang Bo and the Ghost Spider to gasp for fresh air.

Energy Shield Durability: 146 Points

“A fighter of this caliber could easily wipe out a reincarnator from a difficulty-one world,” Fang Bo thought, stowing the energy shield while reminding himself to stay cautious.

A single lapse in attention could lead to a heavy blow from such a high-level fighter.

“Don’t let my guard down,” he muttered, activating his curse mark transformation.

Against a threat of this level, he couldn’t afford any leniency—he had to bring out all his power to eliminate the enemy.

He instructed the Ghost Spider to retreat slightly, then used the Wind Shadow Puppet to form a massive six-meter cube.

Magnet Release: Sand Iron Barrage!

After the intense battle, the puppet’s remaining energy was nearly depleted. This was the last move it could execute.

In the confined corridor, the enemy had no hope of dodging this attack.

Of course, they might not even have intended to dodge.

“Huh.” Kyo Kusanagi No. 1’s body was suddenly enveloped in endless flames.

To Fang Bo, it felt like a small sun had appeared before him, the temperature rising sharply around them.

“He’s a frightening opponent,” the Ghost Spider muttered, looking around in alarm.

Without her help, those Ghost Spiders were no match for the clone soldiers. They had started with twelve, but now only seven were left struggling to survive.

The overwhelming numbers of clones and the advantages of the NESTS base made their mass-produced soldiers useless.

“You take care of the little ones,” Fang Bo said, grabbing his cloak again and activating the Memory Armor shield.

His intuition told him the Sand Iron Cube might not withstand the enemy’s most lethal move.

Facing the massive cube, Kyo Kusanagi No. 1 raised his arm high.

Countless crimson flames gathered as if he were holding up a sun.

“Completing the mission is my only reason to exist,” No. 1 shouted with a fierce expression. “Now you’ll witness my resolve.”

MAX Super Special Move: Orochi Nagi!

In the blink of an eye, the Sand Iron Cube was shattered by Orochi Nagi from the front.

Surging flames poured in. After several seconds of resistance, Fang Bo’s energy shield finally shattered.

No. 1’s ultimate super move hit Fang Bo’s body, enveloping him in flames as they both were sent flying into the distance.

[You took 156 points of burning damage from Kyo Kusanagi No. 1’s Orochi Nagi attack.]

[The talent trait “Steel Heart” activates, restoring 48 health points.]

[The attack triggers a crimson flame effect, dealing 8 points of damage per second, lasting 12 seconds.]

Before he could regain his balance, the Ghost Spider rushed in and blocked the enemy’s follow-up.

At this point, Fang Bo couldn’t allow the enemy to continue their pursuit. He needed time for the Onmyoji to recover.

With no Ghost Spiders nearby, she had no choice but to step in herself.

She marked the enemy with her Spider Seal, then gathered her energy to unleash her ultimate technique.

Heart Devour, Bone Feast!

When first entering the reincarnation space, this move was somewhat effective at controlling enemies.

But now, its power was insignificant. The Ghost Mother Yinhime had already fallen out of the front-line combat sequence.

In the current situation, she had no choice but to force her way through, but the energy spiders were easily extinguished by the enemy’s punch.

Exhausted and with her chest burning from pain, No. 1 was still not defeated by the giant spider.

Ducking under the spider blade’s strike, the man quickly performed a counter move, using the crimson flames to ignite the Spider Mother’s body.

Then he rushed forward, his hands crossing to lock the Ghost Spider’s shoulders.

“Die!!!”

Just as he was about to deliver the final blow, a golden chain suddenly wrapped around him.

Using the summoner as bait, Fang Bo had finally caught the enemy. He knew the opponent would try to engage the Ghost Spider in close combat.

Yinhime’s melee abilities were subpar, and anyone who fought her could easily see that.

Had it been him, he would have prioritized eliminating this annoying giant spider.

Without this foresight, the Yang Force Lock wouldn’t have been able to catch such a high-level opponent.

Even though it could only trap the enemy for a second, it was enough to execute a round of treasure strikes. All his treasures were summoned simultaneously.

Even if the enemy wasn’t bound, the attack would still land.

After several explosive booms, No. 1 managed to break free from the bindings and block most of the attacks, but he failed to anticipate the Shadow Moon Trident’s invisible assault.

At the same moment, the Wind Shadow Puppet rushed forward, and the Sun Wheel Sword slashed downward, aiming for a clean decapitation.

The Wind Shadow Puppet also launched an icy attack with its Dragon Cavalry, sending a chilling ice bullet toward No. 1.

Two simultaneous attacks forced No. 1 into a defensive position, but he quickly found a way to counter them.

Killer Move: Demon’s Fire!

Two streams of fire, like serpents, surged upward, blocking the Sun Wheel Sword and melting the incoming ice bullet.

No. 1’s combat awareness was impressive, but unfortunately, he was still not Kyo Kusanagi’s original self.

Breathing heavily, he dropped to the ground, narrowly avoiding the Wind Shadow Puppet’s incoming blade. But he had no more strength to face the Yuanichi Zero.

Sun Breath, First Form: Dance of the Sun!

Fang Bo aimed to decapitate his opponent, but the blows only landed on his shoulders.

That was fine. A moment later, golden ripples appeared again, and Fang Bo wasted no time in finishing his opponent.

The eight attack-type treasures descended one by one, pinning No. 1 to the ground.

No. 1’s gaze remained locked on Fang Bo until the end, as if still determined to fulfill the mission set by the organization.

“That damn NESTS… their methods are truly astonishing,” Fang Bo sighed.

[You have killed the modified Kyo Kusanagi No. 1.]

[You have obtained a Golden Story Chest.]

After spending so many days in the storyline world, Fang Bo had finally earned a relatively decent reward.

Of course, a single golden chest wasn’t enough. His greed wouldn’t be easily satisfied.

Picking up the chest that had dropped on the ground,he turned his gaze to the remaining few clone soldiers, thinking for a moment before saying, “Forget about individual progression for now. Focus on hatching the Ghost Spiders to maximum numbers.”

“Got it.”

The NESTS base was rife with danger. This fight was merely an appetizer. Not to mention, Fang Bo had already brought the target, Iori Yagami, over.

If it were up to him, he’d rather abandon the rescue mission and focus on capturing Iori.

Once that was accomplished, a whole army of clones would soon be born.

Imagining the scene of Iori being studied, naked and vulnerable, Fang Bo grinned—this would surely be a spectacular sight.

However, his smile didn’t last long.

With a sound of footsteps, the ice-wielding Kula arrived, her face full of curiosity as she entered the corridor.

“Wow, real Ghost Spiders! So cool!” She ran around them in circles, poking at them with excitement.

The Ghost Spider attempted to attack, but Fang Bo used his mental control to force it to stop.

This girl was no fake expert like Iori—she was a real top-tier fighter, one who had repeatedly forced K’ into a corner.

If he dared to act, he’d be dead in two minutes.

As Kula circled the spiders, she poked at them and remarked, “Hey, why aren’t they moving?”

Then she turned to look at Fang Bo, her eyes filled with expectation.

“…” For some reason, Fang Bo felt like this scene was oddly familiar.

Using his mind to control the Ghost Spiders, he began making them perform some amusing movements to distract the girl.

Sure enough, Kula completely forgot about her mission, sitting down and studying the spiders’ body structures.

Her behavior reminded Fang Bo of a certain little girl wielding a huge hammer.

After what felt like ages, Kula stood up, satisfied with her findings, and then suddenly remembered her task.

Turning to Fang Bo, she hesitated before murmuring, “Fokxi told me to deal with the redhead, not fight you… I’ll just pretend I didn’t see you.”

Stretching lazily, Kula added, “You guys should leave quickly. There are some really scary things locked up in this base.”

Seeing how agreeable she seemed, Fang Bo couldn’t resist asking, “You mentioned a redhead—did you see my comrade?”

“Yeah,” she answered cheerfully.

“Where is he now…”

“I’ve already defeated him,” she said casually.

Fang Bo scoffed inwardly, knowing Iori was bound to mess things up.

K’ was much more reliable—though his strength was lacking for now, at least K’ understood the importance of acting with caution.

Just as Fang Bo waved his hand and prepared to move in another direction, a sudden gust of wind howled through the sealed corridor, heralding the appearance of the Stormbringer, Geinetsu.

“Defeating Iori Yagami, huh? Interesting. You deserve my personal attention,” she declared, launching an immediate attack on Kula.

“…Tch.” Fang Bo swore under his breath, but could only helplessly join the fray.
