RWWOKS Chapter 206

This entry is part 207 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Meanwhile, deep within the experimental area of the base.

“Bring him up,” a man in a white lab coat, adjusting his mask, prepared to inject a specially crafted serum into the test subject.

No matter how powerful a fighter you are, after the injection, you’ll immediately become a helpless, limp mess.

Depriving the subject of the ability to resist was the only way to ensure the experiment went smoothly; otherwise, these people were all a handful to deal with.

The needle drew closer to the arm of the test subject. Just then, the red-haired man on the operating table suddenly opened his eyes with a snap.

With a swipe of his claw, he tore open the lab coat-wearing man’s abdomen. Yashiro Han then staggered off the operating table.

He was indeed seriously injured, but not to the point where he couldn’t fight.

In terms of durability, Yashiro was far stronger than Kyo Kusanagi. This was probably a reflection of his indomitable willpower.

His eyes swept the corner of the room, where a woman was crouching, trembling. He walked over and grabbed her roughly by the arm, lifting her to her feet.

“Tell me, where is Kyo Kusanagi?”

“Over there,” the woman stammered.

This was the deepest part of the lab. Beyond here were the forbidden cryogenic chambers.

The woman’s rank wasn’t high enough for her to know who exactly Yashiro was looking for, but she was sure Kyo Kusanagi must be inside.

Without hesitation, Yashiro made his way to the entrance of the cryogenic chamber.

A metal door?

It couldn’t possibly withstand the searing heat of the Deadly Flame. Before long, Yashiro had melted a hole in the door large enough for a person to pass through.

Inside, there were four enormous metallic pods. Yashiro coldly asked, “Where is he?”

“I… I don’t know,” the woman replied nervously.

Seeing that she wasn’t lying, Yashiro slapped her unconscious without a second thought.

If she couldn’t tell him who he was looking for, he would simply open all the pods.

Just as he was about to act, a woman’s voice suddenly echoed from within the chamber.

[Yashiro, don’t be impulsive. The one you’re looking for is in the first pod on the left.]

For some unknown reason, someone from within the Nest was actually guiding him.

Yashiro wasn’t an idiot—after a moment of thought, he quickly realized the intention behind the voice.

“Afraid I’ll free the others?”

Anyone imprisoned alongside Kyo Kusanagi must be a formidable fighter as well, likely enemies of the Nest.

A cruel smile tugged at the corner of Yashiro’s mouth as he made his decision.

The purple flames transformed into claws, and in an instant, they struck the four massive pods, obliterating them. At the same time, he destroyed the surveillance camera overhead.

At first, Yashiro had been curious about the identities of the other test subjects, but the moment he saw Kyo Kusanagi, everything else faded from his mind.

Looking at Kyo’s disheveled state, Yashiro paused for a moment. He then stepped outside and revived the unconscious woman.

When she groggily woke, he immediately ordered her to dress Kyo.

“Either do it, or die,” Yashiro stated, offering an easy choice.

As he had said, he didn’t like violence and preferred cooperation. As long as people didn’t oppose him, Yashiro considered himself an easy person to get along with.

The woman, trembling, nervously dressed Kyo in a lab coat.

“Hurry up.”

“Y-Yes, sir.”

Before long, Kyo, now dressed in the white lab coat, was brought out.

Yashiro immediately threw him over his shoulder and slapped the woman unconscious again.

Even though she had helped him, if she were found unharmed, the Nest might label her a traitor.

Knocking her out was, in a sense, saving her.

This was a unique tenderness that only Yashiro possessed, though few people would ever understand it.

“You’re not getting away,” Kula’s voice echoed through the frost-covered corridors.

There was no way around it—her opponent could fly freely.

Even if she only slid along the ceiling, it was hard for someone like her, who wasn’t skilled in speed-based combat, to keep up.

Special Move: Diamond Breath!

Frustrated, Kula pouted and released a huge blast of icy air.

Unfortunately, it didn’t hit the quick-moving opponent.

“Scan information!”

[Kula De Almando (Ice Woman)]

[Attack Inclination: Low]

[Attribute Inclination: Mental, Perception, Agility]

[Trait: Counter-K Art (Legendary)]

[Threat Level: Highly Dangerous]

Even though the battle had begun, Kula’s intent to kill seemed relatively mild.

After all, Kula was only 14, about the same age as the little girl Yao Yao.

“If she were to enter the reincarnation space, these two would probably become friends,” thought Fang Bo.

Kula didn’t have any murderous intent, so Fang Bo didn’t feel the need to go all out against her. Besides, he still needed to conserve energy for other battles.

Moreover, Goenitz had surprised him.

Although he hadn’t yet fully adjusted to his new body, his powerful battle instinct had allowed him to suppress Kula effectively.

Sliding low to the ground, Goenitz rushed toward his target, extending his hand forward.

Seeing this, Kula immediately erected a thick ice barrier in front of her.

But it was a feint. Goenitz used a change in wind direction to slip behind her with an unusual sideways movement.

Before Kula could react, Goenitz had already seized her.

Throwing Technique: Gate of the Underworld!

Empowered by the winds, Goenitz could create hurricanes from thin air, or coat his palms with wind blades, turning even the most basic attacks into razor-sharp strikes.

Kula’s body slammed into the ground, blood spurting from her as the wind’s force intensified.

With the wind beneath him, Goenitz floated gracefully, his priestly robes fluttering as he revealed his well-toned thighs.

“Your power is great, but you have no idea how to use it,” Goenitz sneered. Then, an idea sparked in her mind.

Looking down at Kula from a lofty position, Goenitz seemed to tempt her, “How about joining my Heavenly Clan? I can personally teach you how to fight.”

Given Kula’s power, Goenitz believed she would naturally accept the offer.

She didn’t know that Kula still held a grudge for the earlier injury, and there was no way she would flip sides now.

“You wish!”

The words didn’t come from Kula, but from a mature woman’s voice.

Everyone turned to see Fokxie, a high-ranking officer of the New Order, charging toward them.

[Fokxie (New Order)]

[Attack Inclination: Strong]

[Attribute Inclination: Agility, Strength]

[Trait: Star-Sword New Dawn]

[Threat Level: Moderate Pressure]

With Kula injured, Fokxie was on the verge of emotional breakdown.

She leaped high into the air, unleashing a sword strike toward the group.

MAX Super Move: Planet’s Prayer!

In an instant, three silver-white sword blades hurtled toward them, a terrifying move that defied all physical logic.

Even though Goenitz and Fang Bo were both experienced fighters, neither could dodge the deadly Super Move in time.

[You have been hit by Fokxie’s Planet’s Prayer, causing 87+94+75 slashing damage.]

[Talent “Steel of the Heart” activated, recovering 102 HP.]

Fang Bo received a total of 154 points of damage.

Fortunately, Fokxie’s combat abilities were not as specialized as some of the other officers. If she had been more focused on combat, Fang Bo wouldn’t have been able to withstand the Super Move.

“Damn it,” Fang Bo muttered as he summoned a ghost spider.

He placed his hand on its body.

Plunder!

[You gained 14 HP.]

[You gained 14 HP.]

[You gained 14 HP.]

In just six seconds, he drained the life out of a junior ghost spider.

As the second spider arrived, Fokxie was already helping Kula, who was still fuming with anger, to her feet.

“Let’s go, it’s not safe here.”

Fang Bo froze in surprise.

He had thought the final boss battle was about to begin, but the moment the boss appeared, she was ready to run, claiming the Nest base wasn’t safe.

Fang Bo exchanged a glance with Goenitz, and both old, cunning fighters decided to wait and see.

“Not safe?” Kula blinked, then it hit her, “The others—are they out?”

“Yeah, that bastard Yashiro went ahead and released them,” Fokxie snarled, her teeth gritted. It seemed Yashiro had made a big move behind their backs.

Before Fang Bo could ask anything, he saw a familiar figure at the end of the hallway—Yashiro, with Kyo Kusanagi, now free, adjusting his condition.

“They’ve been rescued,” Fang Bo smiled slightly, knowing this hidden task was complete.

The real problem now was whether they had the strength to take on this high-ranking officer of the Nest.

He was also very interested in the mysterious figures.

Just then, a terrifying explosion shook the entire base, and Fokxie’s expression turned grim.

She shot a murderous glance at them and grabbed Kula, trying to make a quick exit.

Seeing this, Goenitz, who had just suffered a hit, wasn’t going to let it slide. She needed to teach this woman the consequences of attacking her.

“Humph,” sensing the killer intent, Fokxie growled, “Don’t get cocky. Today, I’ll let you go, but the Nest will send assassins to take your lives.”

Before her words were even finished, Fang Bo received his second hidden task.

[Hidden Task #14552 Triggered: Pursuit of the Nest!]

[Task Description: You have destroyed the Nest’s base. Prepare for retaliation.]

[Task Requirements: Survive 5 waves of Nest assassins.]

[Hint: You can enlist the help of plot characters, but this may lower your rewards.]

Seeing the hidden task, Fang Bo’s mood lightened.

Fokxie, though seething with anger, couldn’t hide the fear in her eyes. Clearly, something big had happened.

Sticking to his policy of not inviting trouble, Fang Bo decided it was best to withdraw from the Nest base for now.

But he forgot, the people around him weren’t ones he could simply control.

The humiliated Goenitz wanted revenge, and Kyo, tortured for three long years, was seething with fury.

Today’s events would not end so easily.

“You bastards!” Fokxie started to say something, but noticed everyone’s gaze had shifted behind her.

As if sensing something, she turned to swing her sword, only to be struck from behind by a blood-red crescent.

Super Move: Moon!

“Fokxie!!!” Kula cried, cradling the bloodied woman in her arms, glaring at the man with a maddened grin in the distance.

A tall, lean man with blue hair and a red cloak stood there, a special glove on his left hand marking him as someone significant.

Clearly, this was one of the people Fokxie feared.

Ignoring everyone else, the man, grinning wildly, aimed his arm at the ready Kula.

“How dare you freeze me!? You have some nerve!”

With a muscle twitch, his arm morphed into a strange drill-like shape.

“Disappear!!”
