RWWOKS Chapter 216

This entry is part 217 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

The man strolling under the moonlight was none other than Fang Bo, whom they had located based on eyewitness clues.

Ignoring the other’s inquiries, he sat down by the bridge and together they gazed at the river’s surface reflecting the moon.

After a long silence, Fang Bo softly murmured almost instinctively, “Jing’s progress is fast; it’s almost restored to eighty percent of its peak strength.”

“…?” Yashiro looked up, his calm demeanor instantly disrupted.

Fortunately, his hair was long enough that any subtle changes in his facial expression were not easily noticed.

Eighty percent of his peak strength had already surpassed the 1996 level, and he could even put up a fight against the full-strength Geese.

As for Yashiro himself, he likely only had about sixty percent of his former power, making him naturally no match for the likes of them.

Losing to Kula or K9999 didn’t bother him too much, as he knew once he regained his health, he could defeat both.

But he would never allow himself to lose to Kyo Kusanagi—not even once.

Fang Bo, sensing the shift in atmosphere, smiled inwardly but pretended to think as he spoke, “I’ve fought with powerful warriors from the Heavenly Kingdom, and I’ve found that the blood of Orochi has a certain self-healing ability. It might help you recover.”

Upon hearing this, Yashiro finally spoke, “I know, but it won’t last long.”

What he meant was that using it for just a brief period was useless, and besides, he didn’t like relying on the Orochi bloodline, nor did he like being shackled by fate.

His fight with Kyo Kusanagi was driven purely by personal will—he simply wanted to defeat him.

“I understand,” Fang Bo nodded, speaking with an air of inevitability. “That’s why I’m here. To help you restore your strength.”

He had already expressed his desire to destroy the NESTS, so Yashiro didn’t doubt his intentions.

“How do you plan to help me?” Yashiro’s tone shifted slightly, hinting at his growing interest.

Clearly, the inability to restore his strength was a matter of great concern to him, and his usual coolness was just a façade.

The sudden mention of a potential solution made his heartbeat quicken.

“Before that, I have a question for you.” Fang Bo turned to him, eyes fixed on the solitary figure of the man next to him.

“To restore your strength, would you be willing to embrace the Orochi blood inside you?”

Compared to the members of the Eight Heirs, Yashiro’s Orochi blood was far less potent, which allowed him to break free from Orochi’s control.

But now, he would have to activate the bloodline himself.

After a brief pause, Yashiro slowly rose from the riverbank, hands in his pockets, staring at the bright moon in the sky.

“Do you know who you’re talking to?” The man’s posture was upright and defiant, almost silently declaring something.

Compared to the Orochi blood, losing to Kyo Kusanagi would be the more terrifying outcome.

[Mission #14552 Triggered: Hidden Quest – The Fate of Eightfold Kōrū]

[Mission Brief: Destruction or Rebirth – This man must face his fate.]

[Mission Requirements: Help Yashiro recover his health.]

[Special Note: You may want to seek help from the Three Sacred Treasures family!]

Seeing the mission trigger, Fang Bo’s mood lifted instantly. “Let’s go. We’ll visit an old friend of yours.”

Soon, the private jet provided by Kyo Kusanagi took off.

At first, Fang Bo worried whether Yashiro might reject Kyo’s gesture, but to his surprise, not only did he get on the plane, but he also drank several bottles of expensive wine without hesitation.

Quite the ungrateful guest, indeed.

Holding a crystal-clear wine glass, Yashiro finally voiced the question on his mind, “So, who exactly are we going to meet?”

“Chizuru Kagura,” Fang Bo replied, naming the old acquaintance.

Chizuru Kagura, another heir of the Three Sacred Treasures family, who holds the Eight Divination Mirror within her body. She was also one of the key figures in sealing Orochi in 1997.

Her real name should have been Yata Chizuru, but because she carried the mission to protect the Orochi seal, she had to change her surname to Kagura.

Of course, this history wasn’t all that important. The reason for seeking her out was simple—using the power of the Eight Divination Mirror to restrict Yashiro.

Without this, activating the Orochi blood in Yashiro could easily cause him to go berserk, and Fang Bo’s own life would be at risk.

The plan was to deliberately trigger Yashiro’s Orochi blood to keep him in a “blood-boiling” state, helping to heal his severely damaged body.

This idea was inspired by Naruto Uzumaki from the Naruto universe, where each time the Nine-Tails chakra erupted, it helped Naruto recover from physical injuries.

Fang Bo wondered if the same strategy could work for Yashiro.

Even if it didn’t have the miraculous effect of bringing him back from death like Rugal Bernstein, it might still help to some degree.

After hearing the plan, Yashiro’s expression turned slightly inscrutable.

Such an outlandish idea—how had this guy even thought of it?

After some thought, Yashiro had to admit that it might actually be a solid plan.

The last few times he had gone berserk, it was after sustaining severe injuries.

While he didn’t fully understand the exact process, each time he regained his sanity, he found his condition to be noticeably better than before the outbreak.

If the Orochi blood did indeed contain some healing power, it was worth a shot.

Seeing Yashiro agree, the two of them continued drinking, one glass after another.

When Fang Bo finally awoke, a beautiful flight attendant was kneeling beside him, gently massaging his shoulder.

“Sir, you’re awake?” The flight attendant’s voice was soft, lingering on his shoulder with an almost intoxicating touch.

She had never seen such a well-built man before.

Running her hand over his sculpted muscles, her gaze became somewhat dazed.

“Mm.” Fang Bo nodded, contemplating how pleasant the life of the rich truly was.

He glanced out the window, recognizing the familiar airport approaching.

Declining the flight attendant’s offer to join him for dinner, Fang Bo and Yashiro disembarked and made their way to a ferry bound for South Town.

Seeing his disguised teammates, Yashiro suddenly asked, “Why does the Geese Team want to kill you?”

“It’s nothing. Just a little misunderstanding,” Fang Bo immediately explained the earlier conflict.

He thought Yashiro might step in to help, but instead, Yashiro simply resumed his cool, aloof demeanor.

Rubbing his brow lightly, Fang Bo wasn’t worried about the threat from the Geese Team.

If they couldn’t even defeat Terry, the Geese Team wasn’t all that impressive—they weren’t even on the level of a King of Fighters series boss, more like a mildly troublesome villain.

What worried him more, however, was Chizuru Kagura.

In 1996, Geese had ambushed Chizuru’s sister, Chizuru Manami, to weaken the Orochi seal using a woman’s life.

The enmity between them was deep, and if she found out that Fang Bo had helped free Geese’s soul, he could expect much worse than steak and wine.

“Maybe I’m just overthinking it.”

After his careful disguise, Fang Bo looked fine, but Yashiro’s unique image immediately attracted attention upon their arrival in South Town.

Among those who noticed was the ambitious Geese Howard.

On the wide road, over a dozen motorcycles sped through the traffic.

In any other city, this reckless driving would have drawn countless curses.

But in South Town, no one dared speak out against the Geese Team.

At the front of the pack, a man wearing a red-and-white bandana, his face serious, was none other than Geese’s right-hand man, Billy Kane.

Geese had just sent him a message, inviting Yashiro to Geese Tower for a feast.

Billy knew that his boss was planning to make a comeback.

If they could bring Yashiro into the fold, a new South Town team would easily dominate and claim the championship.

It was a good plan, but Billy remained pessimistic about it.

He and Yashiro shared deep enmity.

Back in the 1995 King of Fighters tournament, Yashiro, Billy, and Iori Yagami were teammates, but after the tournament ended, Yashiro entered his blood berserk form and severely injured both Billy and Iori.

In the following year’s 1996 tournament, Yashiro again went berserk and killed his two new teammates, Mai Shiranui and Ryo Sakazaki.

Yashiro’s reputation as a “teammate killer” was well-earned.

Billy’s injuries had been relatively light, recovering after a few months, but Iori’s were much worse, taking years to heal.

Because of this, Billy understood what it meant to team up with Yashiro.

He wanted to refuse, but his boss had given the order, and as a loyal soldier, Billy couldn’t turn it down.

That’s why they were now on their way to the dock to block Yashiro’s path.

“If you agree, then good. But if you refuse, don’t blame me for being ruthless,” Billy threatened.

He knew that the most likely outcome would be a refusal, and if that happened, he could easily strike.

Billy wasn’t worried about the other fighters; they didn’t have the connections Yashiro had.

Here in South Town, Geese’s rules ruled.

With the roar of engines closing in, the group of bikers surrounded Fang Bo’s taxi.

The bald-headed driver panicked, jumping out and running for his life, leaving his car behind.

Seeing this, the two men in the backseat stepped out.

“Geese Team?” Fang Bo, wearing sunglasses, was surprised that they had figured out his disguise.

Turning to see the situation clearly, he immediately realized.

“It’s because of him.”

He had thought he was safe, but now the crowd’s eyes were all on him.

Especially Billy, who almost immediately picked up his weapon.

“So it’s you, you bastard.”

“…?” Fang Bo took off his sunglasses, surprised. “You can actually recognize me?”

Billy couldn’t help but growl in frustration.

You’re wearing different clothes and cheap sunglasses—did you think I wouldn’t recognize you?

With a deep breath, Billy prepared for the worst.

If Yashiro refused, he was ready to use everything at his disposal to eliminate both of them.

Normally, Billy wouldn’t dare take on someone like Yashiro, but he had heard that Yashiro’s condition wasn’t great lately.

And here, in South Town, the Geese Team’s power ruled all.

No matter who you were, you had to play by their rules.

Boom!

The sound of engines roaring echoed, and the bikers surrounded the taxi.

The driver, terrified, jumped out and ran for his life, leaving the car behind.

Fang Bo and Yashiro stepped out calmly.

“Geese Team?” Fang Bo asked, surprised. “How did they see through my disguise?”

Then, seeing Billy’s gaze fixed on Yashiro, he quickly understood.

“Ah, they’re after him…”

End of Chapter.
