RWWOKS Chapter 222

This entry is part 223 of 247 in the series The Reincarnation World Where Only I Know the Storyline

Above South Town, two massive transport planes roared through the sky.

Through the glass window, the young man gazed at the beautiful city below. “Not a bad sight. No wonder they chose this place for the event.”

The man had snow-white hair and a beard, but paradoxically, he wore the face of a young person, which gave him a rather strange appearance.

He gently swirled the glass of wine in his hand, falling into quiet contemplation. His demeanor exuded an indescribable elegance and nobility.

He had only two tasks in South Town.

First, to punish the traitor, to personally take down that despicable little rat.

Second, to seize the Yata Mirror from Kagura Chizuru’s hands.

In order to claim the power of Orochi, he first had to seal the Earth’s will.

For that, he would need to use the local world’s sacred artifacts.

This mission was of utmost importance. It wasn’t just him; that guy’s subordinates had come along as well.

Raising his head, he glanced at a figure not far away, and a flicker of displeasure crossed Konstantin’s gaze.

Ruthless reincarnators from the low-difficulty worlds always treated him with utmost respect. Even the rebellious Olson had never dared to defy him face-to-face.

Yet, these so-called “experts” always acted as if they were above him, preferring to fiddle with ingredients rather than engage in conversation with him.

Konstantin wasn’t a fool—he knew these low-difficulty-world folks looked down on him, thinking he hadn’t yet proven his strength.

“A bunch of idiots.” If they looked down on him, then he certainly had no respect for them in return.

They had only entered the scene a bit earlier, but once he caught up to them, these people might not even be fit to carry his shoes.

As though sensing his gaze, the young man who was preparing beef lifted his head and grinned, holding out a plate.

“Don’t you want some?”

The beef seemed normal at first, but a closer look would send chills down anyone’s spine.

The flesh strings in the meat were writhing as if alive, reaching upwards but held back by the surrounding beef.

Konstantin even saw a small chunk of meat slowly devouring the surrounding tendons, growing larger and larger.

Strange Steamed-Grilled Beef Ribs: A dish with an unknown effect. Consume with caution.

“…I’ll pass,” Konstantin declined the offer.

He’d rather go without dinner tonight than eat something so dubious.

Ji Mu, a key reincarnator from the low-difficulty world, had returned to the King of Fighters world alongside Jason.

Konstantin didn’t often encounter these people, but he had heard rumors from the orphanage.

Among the many strange legends, this young man, seemingly harmless, was often mentioned.

The dishes he prepared had become nightmares for many.

One bite, and it would be something they could never forget for the rest of their lives.

“Not eating?” Ji Mu sighed regretfully. Amidst the odd stares of others, he slowly placed the beef in his mouth.

The next moment, the young man collapsed to the ground, convulsing violently.

“…” Konstantin stood up, deciding to keep his distance from these low-difficulty-world idiots.

The mission to hunt down Kagura Chizuru couldn’t be completed by just them. The true expert was resting alone in the back.

No one, including Konstantin, dared disturb “Mr. X”’s sleep.

Throughout the Nests organization, this character’s strength was undoubtedly at the top.

Only when Mr. X took action could they ensure success, which was why they had paid an exorbitant price for his help.

Looking down at the town below, Konstantin couldn’t help but recall their brief meeting in the reincarnation space earlier.

“I look forward to our confrontation, Number 7.”

“Let’s see if you’ll disappoint Olsen.”

[Pursuer approaching. Reincarnators, prepare for response!]

Hearing the notification from the space, Fang Bo instantly looked up. “Guests have arrived.”

Upon hearing this, Kagura Chizuru took out the copper mirror from her bosom. Images of two transport planes soon appeared on its surface.

The Nests logo clearly indicated the identity of the visitors.

“They’ve even tracked us down here.” For the first time, she felt the pressure of the enemy’s presence.

No wonder they managed to have Kyo and Iori work together. It seemed that she had been too isolated from the outside world.

She picked up the communicator from the wall and instructed the butler to activate the emergency protocols. The area was about to turn into a battlefield.

She wasn’t afraid, but the other members of the family needed to be evacuated immediately.

“Miss.”

Soon, seven women in training outfits entered the room. They were the most outstanding fighters of the Kagura family.

As a long-established martial arts family, it was impossible for Kagura Chizuru to handle everything on her own.

There were even a few terrifyingly powerful elders in the family, but unfortunately, they didn’t like the environment of South Town. Otherwise, today’s battle would likely have been much easier.

“Let’s go, and welcome our guests.”

The group walked into the courtyard, looking up at the two transport planes gradually descending.

Seeing this, Fang Bo summoned his Wind Shadow Puppet, preparing in case the enemies decided to drop in with some divine retribution.

“Don’t worry,” Kagura Chizuru waved her hand, seemingly sensing something. “This is South Town, one of America’s most prosperous cities. No one dares openly use heavy weaponry here.”

Nests hadn’t yet reached the point where they could control everything. Otherwise, they wouldn’t need to hide behind pharmaceutical companies.

Fighters could spar all they wanted, but firing missiles was an entirely different matter.

He understood the reasoning, but Fang Bo never underestimated the madness of reincarnators.

Forget about a few missiles—if the opportunity presented itself, these guys wouldn’t hesitate to press the nuclear button with a straight face.

Still, it didn’t matter. With the Wind Shadow Puppet in place, any attempt to use firearms would be self-destructive.

They waited quietly for a while. One of the transport planes slowly descended into the Kagura family’s courtyard.

It was clear how rich this woman’s family was; even a transport plane seemed to fit in without making the courtyard feel cramped.

With the battle imminent, Fang Bo’s attention subtly drifted elsewhere.

As the transport plane’s door opened, a very familiar figure emerged.

The chosen one, Konstantin, and his pack of dogs from the orphanage.

“The plot just walked right in,” Fang Bo licked his lips, unable to suppress the smile creeping onto his face.

The enemies were definitely hostile, and a fight was inevitable, but that didn’t mean the leaders couldn’t exchange pleasantries.

Taking advantage of the moment, Fang Bo almost scanned the main players on the enemy side, and the result was quite surprising.

[ID: 8201 (Food Hunter)]

[Attack Tendency: Medium]

[Attribute Tendency: Perception, Mental, Physical]

[Trait: Food Above All]

[Threat Assessment: Mild Pressure]

Food Above All: Food-related buffs +200%, Cooking success rate +20% modification.

There was no doubt this was a reincarnator from a low-difficulty world.

In the suppressed space, he still posed “mild pressure” on Fang Bo.

Continuing Chapter 222: Beyond the Strongest, the Strongest

The opponent couldn’t have achieved this level just through attribute points. It was highly likely that the power came from equipment or some sort of amplification effect.

Considering the man’s title as “Food Hunter,” Fang Bo speculated that it probably stemmed from some culinary effect.

“How impolite.” Ji Mu took a meat bun from his pocket, took a small bite, and said, “No wonder so many people hate you, Number Seven.”

Oh, so we’re throwing insults before the fight, huh?

“Heh.” Fang Bo sneered and responded, “The fact that everyone hates me just shows there’s something wrong with you bunch of idiots. Maybe you should reflect on yourselves.”

The threat posed by reincarnators was great, but with Kagura Chizuru present, these people couldn’t stir up much trouble.

The real threat was the mysterious long-haired man at the back.

[Mr. X (The Strongest Beyond the Strongest)]

[Attack Tendency: Low]

[Attribute Tendency: Strength, Agility, Constitution]

[Trait: X Virus (Legendary)]

[Threat Assessment: Extremely Deadly]

Activating his Qi perception, Fang Bo realized that the man’s aura was no weaker than that of a berserk Iori Yagami.

What did this imply?

Even if Kagura Chizuru teamed up with him, they might not be able to handle this person. This was power far beyond their ability to deal with.

“Mr. X… the name sounds strangely familiar.”

Before entering the King of Fighters world, Fang Bo had compiled as much information as he could, listing all the strong fighters he could think of.

Even including characters from the subsequent chapters, he hadn’t missed any well-known fighter with a name.

Yet, Mr. X was not on that list, and still, Fang Bo felt like the codename was strangely familiar.

“Then there’s only one possibility. He’s a fleetingly powerful figure, someone who only made a brief appearance in the plot.”

The “Extremely Deadly” threat assessment indicated that the person had combat abilities on par with a major boss-level character.

Such individuals were rare, and if their appearances were restricted, the scope would be even smaller.

Flipping through the list of Nests organization members, Fang Bo suddenly thought of a very special existence.

During the years when Kyo Kusanagi had been captured, Nests had used him to create many cloned warriors.

Most of these clones were weak, but occasionally, extraordinarily powerful individuals were born.

For example, Kyo Zero, Kyo One, and the plot’s main characters, all of whom had formidable strength.

However, by sheer coincidence, one particularly special clone had been born.

That was Kyo Kusanagi Three.

This individual carried a very unique virus that could alter Kyo Kusanagi’s crimson flames, creating a far more deadly green fire.

The strength of this clone was said to be three times that of Kyo Kusanagi.

Of course, Fang Bo suspected that this might not be entirely accurate, as by the time Nests had acquired Kyo Kusanagi, he wasn’t at his peak anymore.

Even so, this Kyo Kusanagi Three still possessed terrifying power that surpassed the other clones.

Unfortunately, he had chosen to challenge Igniz alone and ended up meeting a tragic end, being killed in a brutal manner.

In Fang Bo’s view, this was an incredibly unwise move.

As the final boss of the Nests storyline, Igniz, by design, had strength far superior to all other fighters.

K’, Maxima, Kula, K9999, and a whole army of fighters had to work together to barely defeat this boss.

Thus, Kyo Kusanagi Three’s defeat wasn’t due to a lack of strength.

Looking at the long-haired man across from him, Fang Bo couldn’t shake the suspicion that this was the so-called Kyo Kusanagi Three.

The orphanage had been developing in the King of Fighters world for so long, and if they hadn’t heard of Kagura Chizuru’s reputation, that would be too foolish.

The fact that he dared to challenge them meant he was confident in his chances of winning.

It seemed that this mysterious Mr. X was the source of this group of reincarnators’ confidence.

Seeing that Kagura Chizuru was still engaged with the others, Fang Bo suddenly made his move.

Activating the magnetic repulsion of his Wind Shadow Puppet, he immediately caused the transport plane overhead to lose control.

Since the Wind Shadow Puppet was in a half-damaged state, he couldn’t control all the steel as easily as Magneto. However, causing a simple crash for the transport plane was still within his abilities.

Boom!

With a roaring explosion, a six-pointed star symbol suddenly appeared around Fang Bo.

Shikigami Summon: Rokushin!

The ghostly mother, Yin Ji, immediately summoned her sixteen children upon appearing.

Even though many clones crawled out from the wreckage of the fallen plane, the number of people on both sides still remained relatively balanced.

Who would emerge victorious would depend on how each side utilized their tactics.
